  1. Like a few others I've caught the upgrade bug and fitted a second pair of tail and stop lights to my FW body. I found them for £63.20 for the pair, including VAT and delivery from Maxparts.biz. They are the same Dasteri DSLR400STL12 units fitted by Westfield. (And close to half the price of everywhere else.) On the Dasteri website the DSLR400STL12 shows only 10 LED's but these are the 12 LED's as provided in the Westfield kit. The center reflector is slightly larger than the hole (59mm against 58mm) but a little careful sanding of the reflector outer edge got a good fit. They are not on the Maxparts.biz web site but ring 01252 512 148 and ask for Rob or David. They came next day.

  2. I've just been made very happy..... I popped into the Westfield Parts Shop today and I got all 3 sizes of screws that I wanted, self cancelling indicator electronics, a windscreen and some hinges for my Wind Deflectors.... great news that the lovely people at the factory can put their hands on readily available stock, awesome ! 3. I was building Beverley Magistrates Court and we used to go over to the local Greggs. I caught the ladies behind the glass counter staring at the workman's willy area through the serving counter glass and laughing. From this point on we used to have lots of banter. One of the ladies was married and she must have been around 50 years of age. One of the young lads from site asked her out and she said "Yes". A few days later I was in the shop and she asked me if anything had been said. I told her "Yes" and she asked me to tell. I said that I did not wish to say but she then came from behind the counter, took my arm and lead me away from the queue. She repeated her request and I again stated I didn't want to say. However she persisted and because I had known her around 8 months I told her. What I said cannot be said here, but it involved her bottom and throat and I only repeated what the young man was saying on site. I then went back into the queue and she went back to work. The following morning, the police arrived on site and so did her husband. They spoke with my line manager and I was interviewed. They asked if I had said it and I said "Yes". They said I shouldn't have said it and I said that she persisted and it was the truth. The husband wanted to know who the lad was who she had been with but I wouldn't say. I was told to go to Greggs and apologise to her but I refused as I said that I told the truth. I said it was her who was married and was in the wrong. I said I didn't want to say but she repeatedly asked and that she appeared to be interested in men as I had caught her and her colleague looking at the mens "Trouser Area". This did not go down very well with her husband and he became quite agitated on site. Anyway a few days later a letter arrived from a Director of Greggs and it stated that I had been given a lifetime ban from every Greggs in the UK.

  8. i’m to old! and don’t understand anything PC after windows 7. But I like sausage rolls and a nice bit of crumpet. I’m pretty sure we’ll not be seeing reruns of The Benny Hill show on the telly. Those of us who thought it was funny should hold our heads in shame! Or be added to a register. I bet builders don’t wolf whistle any more either. The minor infringements of PC should not be confused with more serious stuff. The funny bit at work is the guys are all all very pc with the few women we have. The women are anything but PC, smutt, induendo and more smutt.

  10. Hi all So some of you may be aware in January this year I bought the xtr2 from malgene, this is Westfield’s ex demonstrator that appeared on topgear. When I collected it from the factory I was given boxes and boxes of parts but the only paperwork I received was the receipt for the work the factory carried out and the V5, As I’m rebuilding I’m trying give the car some history and didn’t know if it has previously been owned by a member on here, ive obviously seen the episodes of topgear and men and motors but if anyone has any pictures / info on it it would definitely help

  12. The Sigma engined Westfield had a shorter prop so brought the engine back 3 or 4 inches. That will help with the height too. It's a very light and nimble car.

  13. Steve was suggesting a used Ecoboost engine is cheaper than a used Honda Engine. The factory price is for a new Ecoboost engine.

  20. I've missed tonights meeting, but this is good to know if i can make the next one. I'm never really sure about going to meetings as a newcomer when you don't have a car, so this is a great idea. Hopefully my car is getting closer to finished so it may make it to a meeting eventually Mike

  21. If your a honda fan and can get an engine then go for the mega s2000. The mega s2000/sport 250 chassis is a newer chassis with some improvements. If I were building again I'd go for the mega s2000 chassis but use a ford duratec engine on throttle bodies mated to a mk3 mx5 box. A nice tractable 200 ish bhp with a sweet gearbox. Oh and full FW bodywork.

  22. I think the Ecoboost Sport250 is worth a look nowadays, certainly easier to get a good/low mileage engine compared to both the S2000 or a Busa!

  23. Not and event in itself, but we have now set up a Whatsapp group, as another channel to communicate events and track days, especially when something is being organised at short notice. If you would like to be added to the group, please message me your mobile number (and download the app if you don't already have it).
