  2. It's not Jeff, it's Rod in his 67 plate V8. A few years ago Graham would have made it to the bushes to have a pee, but as the years advance it's anytime, anywhere.

  3. On meeting at Ashbourne, the car park view was pretty good, with 2 x MR2's, a Pontiac and a Porsche, dressed up as Ferraris (not the Porsche), the Dino was my favourite. Ian and Jordan arrived and the view improved Dave, Ian, Jordan, Martyn and Sue, Chris, Andy and Becky and us all went for a brew, oh and Bagpuss came too We drove through the Autumn sunshine, over the high ground of the Peak District, on the twisty back roads. We even found a great big splat of cow poo, we want for nothing here you know! Martyn has the cow poo photo's, I was busy emptying my hot water bottle contents onto it, to try and clean it off the car, to no avail. We arrived at the Tin Hut Coffee Tavern, with not quite enough room for the car at the back to park with us, sorry Chris, but you do get your own individual photograph Martyn got his new banner out to show us, now available to all AO's Glen photographed us in the Tin Hut Coffee Tavern, as we waited for our lunch to arrive. Outside, Dave was photographing something technical on Ian's car, while I was busy photographing Bagpuss, says it all really, doesn't it? Allan I and Jill surprised us by turning up, to share the second half of our journey. He is a clever man, that Allan, he misses the cow poo bit and gets the cake bit. After lunch we sampled some more of those twisty roads and cracking views, in this gorgeous sunshine. We waved at the 2 x Morgan, 3 wheelers, as we made our way to the Crowdecote road, ending up at the Tagg Lane Dairy Cafe, I spelt it right this time Andy. Diary, dairy, CAKE, that's the important bit!!! Some people had cake AND ice cream though didn't they? mentioning no names Andy and Becky's car in the line up, oops did I mention a name No animals were harmed in today's fun, Bagpuss was fetched in the car during the journey, but he kept sunbathing on that hot bonnet Guilty, of pooing on the roads of the Peak District, Crimewatch, if you know this cow, call 101 If the weather is good next weekend, we will continue making our way through the variety of ice cream on offer, there are 8 weekends until Christmas, I reckon we could get through them by then. Thanks for coming everyone, it's been such a laugh, the driving has been amazing, you are all amazing, thank you.

  4. Run to the Ponderosa for the compulsory bacon butty, and then the Rhewla road to Bala, then the great Isbty Ifan road to Cerig. Through Clocaenog and over Moel Famau. Superb.

  5. 5w40 is what raceline toldme. 1l per 1000 miles sounds a fair bit. The old mans Aec mandator 11 litre 205 bhp, would use 1 gallon a hard day!. My old 200k cavalier 1.6d would use 0.5l in 5.5k then use 0.5 l every 500 miles until the oil was changed again. I assume the fleet oil used had had enough then. I’d do a compression test, if it comes up fine i’d Ignore it. Another thought If the oil is getting over hot it could get used like a over thin oil could.

  8. Just renewed mine again with you. I rang up as it was going to be due while we are away abroad and wanted it sorted before we go. Great service, no mucking around. I was told " We can do you the same deal as last year" That suited me fine. I'll speak to you about the house in the spring.

  10. Yup, I had a 'kit' crash pad and the car looked better without it once an aeroscreen was fitted. I'm now changing over to a ZK scuttle and think the dash to scuttle area needs something to cover it to make it look nice. Hence this wanted. By shorter I'm saying front to back. You are correct that it is also longer, left to right down to the tub. I plan to carbon skin or make from carbon but need a buck to get started.

  11. good point, it does have breathers, I'll have a better look to see how accessible all the surfaces are.

  12. Has your cam cover got any built in breather areas etc that you can't get into to clean out properly? As powdercoaters shot blast the parts to prep, and the shot is a nightmare to clean out of nooks and crannies. I've known a few expensive failures of engines and a rear diff in a cosworth after them having parts coated and shot going unseen inside

  13. Mine hadn't been MOT'd for about 5 years before I got hold of It in mid July... but I put over 1000 miles on it between then and now! Better luck next year! (for me)

  14. I used a makeshift wooden box and a fan heater, but yes you need to get it all hot.

  16. 1 litre per 1000 miles is very unusual for a zetec unless you are throwing it out through the crank vent or cam cover breather, or overfilling it.

  17. Well my diary says I’m going to be working that Saturday and it might be a bit busy because of events the week after but Julie Hall Father Christmas might bring you a dictionary !!

  18. Ah, no technical photos from me, I’m afraid. Just capturing a day in the life of Bagpus, caught in the act! And a Bagpus eye view; it’s like being a movie star, facing all the paparazzi!

  19. Went out for a blat today, spent a joyous hour or so, didn't miss a beat, and in fact was probably it's best behaved since purchase, so refitting the plug leads was a good idea, lol. Temp was good, a bit low if anything, but it was quite fresh out. Got a few more little bits coming in the post, so next weekend will probably be fitting trinkets and new front brakes, as the squeaking is quite embarrasing, I could just clean and copper slip them, but might as well refresh too.

  20. Another recommendation from me. Already have the Westy with Aplan but decided try a couple of our daily cars, they couldn't quite match Admiral but I moved them over anyway as Aplan are so much nicer to deal with and easier having 3 cars with one insurer. Might try a quote on my Elite come renewal time.
