  1. I'd like to get back to Bedford, maybe we should try and get a date together for next spring?

  2. Not a long drive for us in Herefordshire, it's one of our favourites for a quick spin on a good day, but it does mean venturing into Shropshire. Single track road across the common to the top of the hill, big ruts/holes/puddles in the [sort of] main car park, but lots of other places to tuck into. There are old quarry workings and quarry buildings as well as the NATS radar domes. A few good walks around the common and on to the summit of the hill, cracking views all round on a good day. The sky gets dark enough for star/Milky Way photography on a clear night and if you like a challenge it's usually the first place to get snow in the winter. Gary

  7. Just helping They might be able to help in other ways, such as making a new set. Its not rocket science to unstitch it and get new carpet cut the same and then find someone with a machine to remake them. Its only 3 bits of carpet . The backs one piece , the floor mats another. See Woolies for carpet material.

  8. Well what a lovely morning, so I just had to fire up the XI and go for a quick run. Put some more miles on the clock as part of my running in. 240 miles now, towards the first 500 at which point I can do an oil and filter change, and then see how it revs on full throttle. The other day, I remade the joints on the unions which screw into the fuel pump, which the in and out fuel pipes connect to, as I had a slight weep from one or both of them. Success, no sign of a weep now.

  10. Half hood from soft bits for sevens. Had small issues with straps as I have a rear screen fitted in the roll bar so could not fix straps onto seat belt hooks. Turn buckles fit better in my case as you can have double depth and can therefore keep the boot cover on at the same time as the hood. This would be different if you have a solid boot cover. Prefer driving with the half hood in lieu of the full cover as you still have the feeling of being outside but dry. When travelling half hood is probably more water resistant than the full cover as it goes over the doors so no dripping on the dash. Welcome to come and have a play or join up on a trip out. Otherwise I will be at Stoneleigh! Andrew

  11. Lovely run out in the sun today. Across the moors to Cheddar (still loads of grockles about!), run up the gorge behind a Z4, bit suprised at one point to meet a car and caravan coming down! Over the top of the Mendips to Blagdon, for a pub lunch, then up Burrington Combe and home via Wells. The financial controller took a video on her phone, but didn't turn out to well unfortunately! Farmers really busy harvesting maize, and leaving half the fields on the roads. Think I need to fit some mud flaps. Not spectacular backdrop, but in the wilds of Somerset Home, washed and dried, and tucked up in the garage, ready for next outing. I'd fitted the sidescreens before we went out, certainly makes it more civilised cruising round this time of year, we could even have a conversation! Has highlighted a bit of a rattle that sounds to be coming from behind the dash though. Investigation required tomorrow.
