  1. Sounds like you all had a good but wet run. Power is great but expensive Julie! Andy

  2. It was raining, blowing a gale and freezing when we set off, and it didn't change all day, I was glad to have the roof on. We arrived in Ashbourne and the photographing of the Bagpuss began. Soon Andrew arrived Dave was next. @greenstreak you think you want more power, I am here in a little Zetec, with a V8 and a Honda in tow, I could develop an inferiority complex if I wasn't so proud to be travelling with them. Andrew's rocker switch for his lights had broken, so he did a running repair and temporarily used the heater switch in it's place. Oooh, no heater, brrrr. We set off into the Peak District, past a big stag with massive horns in a field, and through lots of big puddles. The route was bob on, but I must go back to it in dry weather to fully appreciate it. It is both scenic and fun to drive. We soon arrived at a new cafe that has opened, the only food it sells at the moment is cake and ice-cream, so we had our dessert first, that's a bit naughty. Andrew chose a salted caramel cake, which I have never had before, so he let me taste his, that was very trusting of him, don't you think. We continued on our journey, which included a pose through Bakewell, which was full of holidaymakers. Then it was off piste, back to the twisty roads, wet, but twisty, we are sooo going to do this route again in the dry. We finished at one of our favourite cafes in Hulme End, where we had homemade soup and the main course. It was here that Dave and Glen helped the elderly couple change the flat tyre. Andrew was busy aiding and abetting me photographing the Bagpuss in Dave's car. Whoops, here he is sat in Andrew's car too, how did that happen At the cafe in Hulme End Our journey home took us through Matlock Bath, which was NOT lacking in motorbikes, so, you see, we are not the only daft one's out in the bad weather. Phew, not a mention of any weather girls all day, gotcha. Now, for next weekend, Mummy Nature, can we please have some lovely sunshine like the F1 driver's have got today. Thank you to everyone for coming today, you hardcore Westfielder's you

  3. Game on @Dave Eastwood (Gadgetman) - Club Secretary. The game is who can get a photograph of Bagpuss with @IanK (Bagpuss) car, extra points if Ian is also in the photograph. In the absence of Ian, I thought it only right to play the game with you. So while Dave was busy with Glen helping an elderly couple change their flat tyre I was sneaking around inside Dave's car, and the Bagpuss followed me, GAME ON.

  4. Thank you Julie & Glen for another well organised lovely day out. Fantastic cake stop followed by another stop for soup and main course. Proves that you can still have fun in the rain with a soft top car!

  6. Ooh the s2000 snobs are out!! Sounds awesome. Looks like a car built to go rather than show.

  7. The name RAW is quite apt, given it's not built to the same high quality as demonstrated by most builders in the UK (.eg. @Stuart Faulkner - Shows & Events Coordinator, @Dave Eastwood (Gadgetman) - Club Secretary @Sycho). I suspect from how it was driving that theVtec engagement is higher up than the Omex ECU. The cars seems to have lost both cycle wings Thanks for sharing!

  8. We bought our first house earlier in the year (the reason the Westie progress is so slow) and it needs a lot of work. I’m learning as I go with some of the jobs. Recently had a go at studding a plasterboaring. There was was an old back boiler and gas fire in the chimney breast, so needed something to tidy the gap up a little. TVs on the wall aren’t to some people’s taste but I think it’s come out pretty well it just needs skimming which I won’t be doing myself. Mike

  12. Hey, I offered you an airline and a jack! Anyway, without you to break down, we needed someone else to help! (Too soon? ) What amazed me, were all the people stood around the elderly couple offering “helpful” advice. I’d like to think if that had been my grandad/grandma, someone would have actually got down on their knees and helped, rather than just standing there, telling them what to do. (Which the elderly gentleman seemed quite well aware of!)

  17. Hahaha, easy to criticise the guy but he was very enthusiastic. Yes it was raw, in an angry wasp kind of way.

  18. It would make things easier having the hole but I managed to fill mine ok from below with a clear tube on the end of the bottle without too much drama. It's not a regular service item at 30000 mile intervals, granted it will probably get done much more frequently in these cars. Just as a side note if your doing a fluid fill/change make sure you do the fluid in the gear lever turret. Can make a big difference.

  19. If mine sounded like that, I'd get something else. Seemed a very involving car to drive , but looks like any other 10 year old , cant be bothered to fix it, kit car. It states 250 bhp and difficult to see why unless its had cams etc, but does have a longer primary ( and probably equaly lengthed ) exhaust manifold, than the Westfield ' just squeeze it under the bonnet' that we have, which the S2000 works better with. The rest of the exhaust is just your worst nightmare. A cherry bomb

  24. Hi adge. Good idea but we've already done the go kart and off road buggy. Buggy was great fun, seat was on pip pins to allow the kids to drive and then the grown up kids too. My brother in law rolled it on a beach and the Mrs suddenly lost enthusiasm. Wonder why. Think I've got a pic somewhere.

  25. Hi, Paul . You still working at Bradwell? Your A4 doesn't have an Haldex coupling, it's permanent Torsen 4wd. Only the A3's and TT's have the the Haldex with 2wd & 4wd when required.
