  2. Since buying a car that I knew was pretty much perfect in Feb I have spent a small fortune on improving, replacing and updating stuff: New seats New harnesses New mirrors New headlights Overhauled Stack instruments New aeroscreen And yesterday saw me buying a new set of LED rear lights to replace standard lights that are working perfectly Is it just me or is this the norm for a Westfield owner?

  4. Great British Sports cars are having another one of their factory open days at Ollerton in Nottinghamshire. It (the cake eating that is) starts at 10am. Come along for a tour of the factory, a general chin wag with other car enthusiasts and the kit parts shop is open too, so bring your shopping list. The staff are very friendly and welcoming, and it's free. Donations to the Air Ambulance are welcome. We will be on holiday at some point in September, when the weather settles, but hopefully we will make this event and meet at 9.30 McDonalds as usual.

  5. How very dare you - I'm the very epitome of posh, unlike some people in here I can name. I'm so posh that during our local sports day, we have a Chauffeur's Race in which my man does quite well.

  7. Yes - just spam - ignore it. Unfortunately as the @wscc email addresses are "out there" they get harvested and spammers use them to "spoof" the "from" address. As you can see your AV picked it up as it should have done. EDIT - note the email account has NOT been "hacked" it's just been spoofed which is common as sh... and impossible to stop, so all you can do is ignore it and allow your AV to bin it automatically on your behalf.

  9. Interesting discussion, quite happy to add my "two penneth" when I'm on the road. However, you'll have to bear in mind this is my first experience of a car of this type, its going to be an eye opener to say the least!! May be a while before I can comment constructively on handling, first priority will be keeping it on the road!

  10. I live in Ongar so will try and meet you guys at North Weald I'll assume you'll get there around 10:15am? From the George and Dragon though I'd recommend you head to Roxwell from Highwood and then onto Leaden Roding and down to Fyfield. The Leaden Roding to Fyfield is a great road, nice and smooth and sweeping bends through the countryside. just hope you don't get stuck behind a tractor! It's better then the A414 anyway and wouldn't add too much time. The whole route is probably around 50 minutes

  12. My stance which still works today for me. I dont drink , smoke or watch football. I dont have the money to chase women as I spent it all on cars, nor do I have the energy as I am in the garage fixing them, so you always know where I am She is still here but I think she is bored of my excuse now and just says "Yes dear" ,now off you go to play in the garage ! Result.

  13. A very apt one for kit car builders : "Velcro", a portmanteau of the French "Velours" (velvet) and "Crochet" (hook);

  14. So... I'm currently out of order with a broken left ulna, generally a miserable and grumpy so and so to be around while it heels. Just after 7 this morning, I hear a dull *THUMP* outside and down the street. This is not unusual as I live in a busy main road near a badly designed junction that seems to magnetically attract brain-dead and idiotic drivers who like to meet at high speed on a spontaneous basis. These days I don't make an effort to investigate unless blues and twos folllow, as they did a couple of years ago when a drunken young driver managed to kill three of his mates by going backwards into a tree at 60 mph about 100 yards down the street. No blues and twos so I stayed indoors, although I was puzzled why the street was now devoid of traffic but also devoid of smashed cars when I looked out the window. I thought nothing of it until I went out later and about 50 yards to the east, I was greeted by an unusual sight. The house on the corner has off-street parking in front of it, with an entrance facing the street with two six foot high brick pillars... ...or should I say one pillar... The Mercedes did not reverse into the pillar. A car overshot the junction and hit the pillar, knocking it on to the back of the parked Mercedes. Not a nice way for the owner to wake up.
