  1. We went for a bbq, that Michael expertly cooked. There was plenty to go round and Glen and I decided we could not possibly eat any more, so we would be polite and share a hot dog. I somehow returned with 2 hotdogs, oops, but they we delicious. Martyn and Sue had their flight, followed by Andy and Becky. Ian had to go, just leaving Dave and it would be a shame for him to go alone, so I bagged another flight, champion. Power station The airport Dave had spotted the Air Ambulance helicopter on the ground with 2 ambulances. Then we had to look for another plane, which we found to our right, at the end of the wing. Not an impostor this week, but the real Dave Eastwood. Landing for the second time That just leaves me to say thank you, again, I can't thank you enough Andrew, you are an absolute star.

  3. Well, I had a learning experience last night and this morning. Went to a party last night in the Westie and the wife was telling me on how proud I should be in building it. When 5 hours later, we plop her in the car , quite tipsy and promptly threw up everywhere..................... So, I can blame the hosts cooking @Geoffrey (Buttercup) - North Yorkshire AO, as Kevin did it well, so remember that Geoffrey, if you ever come down here and Kevin cooks !! More than likely the mixing of drinks and liquors was to blame. So, I abandoned the wife and drove the 30 miles home and after having to drive over and collect the sorry wench this morning , serving massive portions of humble pie, then set about getting the vax out and cleaning carpets , door, seat, handbrake, transmission tunnel, inner and outer side panel, rear arch . At least vinyl is easier to clean in a Westie than suede and leather in the new Volvo, which was a bonus. Anyone got an experience which wasnt in the Westie manual of ownership ?

  5. His sausages were really nice and I missed out on the crumble as was stuffed. He is going to discuss the Zetec Honda thing he text you over coffee. The story gets worse, apparently the wife threw up on his cat as well, after I abandoned all hope and drove home in the Westie

  6. Hi Folks, As the title says, I've finally got a car. I purchased her yesterday from @Herewegoagain! The trip to get the car was a greatly enjoyable experience, made even better by the seller's hospitality and clear enthusiasm for the car. It became clear very quickly that this car had been looked after and that lot of time, effort and money had been spent on keeping her in great functional and aesthetic order. The two folders worth of invoices and other documentation only reinforced this. A big shoutout and thanks to @andy665 for being my taxi driver and second pair of eyes on the day. It was a great day out. The basic spec of the car is as follows: 2000 Factory build SEIW 1800 Zetec MVH418 engine MT75 gearbox Wilwood 4pot front brakes Team Dyamics Pro Race 1.2 wheels MSA roll bar Here are some photos that I've copied from the for sale thread. I was planning on taking my own today but the weather has not been very forgiving:

  16. I went along to Ashbourne as I needed to test some recent mods to my car., I planned then to drive with the convoy to the airfield and then head for home. On arrival at 11:00am only @Dave Eastwood (Gadgetman) - Club Secretary was there. We eventually realised that the start time had come forward so I thought I'll follow Dave to the Airfield, say hello to my fellow Westie drivers and then clear off. On arrival at the airfield, we coudn't find any Westies and the control room hadn't seen any today, though they may have seen one yesterday! We parked opposite the Air Ambulance and both failed to reach @Julie Hall - AO Representative, Peak District AO by phone (We're later to find out it's because she was airborne). Eventually we were kindly advised of a final location on the airfield where they may be! Off we set again to be intercepted by @AndrewBClarke wife, Clare. Clare sent us to the correct location and we parked in the hanger with the cars of those who arrived at the correct time! No sooner had we got out of cars and we were then chauffeured back to the flying club and despite my protests, we were forced to eat excellent Cheese Burgers! Martin and Sue managed their flight, shown on the Flight Radar Screen Shot below. I'll leave Julie to write up her flight once she's got over the excitement! Many thanks to @AndrewBClarke and family for an excellent day out. (It was great to meet your mum too, Andrew)

  18. There should be a clip, lift the arm away from the screen keeping control of it so it doesn't snap back down. The clip is between the end of the spring and the spindle - move it away from the spindle and the arm should come away easily. Just visible on this picture.

  20. Boy o boy....will Kevin cop for it tomorrow. He actually made me an apple crumble last week and he is making another for tomorrow....hope it will be ok. Sounds like you had Kevin's famous....salmonella sausages. He was quite excited @Thrustyjust on Friday at the thought of having a ride in your car.

  22. Good to see Gary Bunn and Derek Hodder at Brighton yesterday, showing the Caterhams the way to go! Well done chaps! Sad to see that the level of support seems to be declining since the Arches gallery was closed. I hope the event doesn't wither on the vine, so to speak. If it does those pernicious Greens who banned the event for a year will have won after losing office!
