Well that was the original plan. We left Brum on Friday and are now in Edinburgh and have covered 1100 miles. Today we also stopped at an Asda to by clothes as we had ran out of clean essentials! We were originally spending last weekend in the Yorkshire dales and moors. Our journey so far from Brum on Friday is to Atherstone, Market Bosworth, Quorn Wymswold, Newark Air Museum, lincoln, Brigg, Humber bridge, Hull and more cross country to finish with @Geoffrey (Buttercup) - North Yorkshire AO and fish and chips for tea on Scarborough sea front. Saturday we were joined by @Dave-P-H and over the Saturday and Sunday we covered over around 500 miles through the stunning Yorkshire dales and moors. Indeed we spent around 22 hours out having fun, drinking tea and eating cake. Monday was quieter with a trip to York and York Minster and the Railway museum. Tuesday as the weather was holding we decided to head for Holy Island, bit last minute I know but a mate of mine has a pub there and he could sort us a bed for 2 night's. We hugged the coast all the way there from Scarborough to Holy Island taking Whitby, Boulby, over the Transporter Bridge and up the the Durham heritage coast, over the Queen Alexander bridge and then the Tyne Tunnel. Next was Tynemouth, Whitley bay, Blyth, Newbiggin, Cresswell Amble, boulmer, by this time we we were tired so jumped on to the A1 north to Holy Island. We'd been on the go 8 hours after a very busy weekend. We then had 2 fantastic days relaxing on Holy Island thinking we best go home after, anyway we haven't, the weather looked good again and we're now in Scotland. More to follow when I can with pics2 points

Hi Kev, Mine was wrapped here http://www.joycedesign.co.uk/jd-wraps/stripe-car-decal-kits/ and that's it on their website. If you look at the Winter 2015 Westfield World magazine, there's an article on it. And now some pics: An example of just how unloved she was How it looked after my prep work When she arrived back And reassembled Pros: Hides an awful lot Won't crack Cons: The finish reflects how well you prep I have caused slight damage to the vinyl with my harness buckles and stones have done the same to the lower edge of the rear wings. Because it's vinyl, you cant simply rub it down and put a new coat on In my opinion - I think it's a great option on tired bodywork. Mine was a mess! Let me know if you have any specific questions or if you would like me to pop it over for you to have a look at.2 points

I must say a massive thankyou to Steve Bogg from Bogg Brothers near Scarborough for getting us fixed first thing after the bank holiday. We slammed a few big holes over the weekend and needed the rear wheel carrier welding back on and all the rivets underneath the spare wheel holding the tub to the chassis had sheared. If you ever around here and need help he's your man.2 points

Sorry to hear that Scott but on the brightside you must have done this at the sweet spot timing wise. To get in A&E have x-ray's and be out in in a cast in three hours is bl**** good going. If it was Coventry (Wargrave) regular waits of 4 - 5 hours my daughter tells me who works there often in A&E putting people to sleep. Hopefully you can finish the kitchen off one handed other wise the sympathy might wear off from you wife. From my experience you might get 1 or 2 weeks of sympathy and then normal service will be resumed. Get well soon1 point

This is all looking pretty good as far as I am concerned, we never put Louis in a kennel, so if he cannot currently come to the meeting my wife stays at home. I haven't quite got my head around how the point scoring works, but it would appear that one can select events to compete in, so the dog friendly ones will be first choice! Thanks again for the info Tony1 point

Two months into ownership and I'm absolutely loving the Westfield! It was standing under a tarp for a few years before I collected, so I have being making sure everything is ok, and tidying things up mechanically, before I get onto the cosmetics. So far, I've done a couple of oil changes, flushed the brake fluid out twice (it was bitter coloured!), flushed the cooling system out and replaced the hoses, thermostat and housing, rad cap and used pre mixed coolant (I swear by Toyota Red for corrosion inhibition) Changed the spark plugs, rocker cover gasket, exhaust gasket, ignition coil, and cleaned and recharged the K&Ns Tempted with a new water pump, the old one is ok, but quite heavily corroded. I've also been replacing a few choice corroded nuts and bolts with stainless hardware, and have a polished alloy rocker cover on the way. The car drives well, and I've covered well over 500 miles so far. It looks like all the leaks are sorted (well, rear diff, and driveshaft boots still need attention) so I'll start on the over all tidying up process. (I'm waiting for the winter to get the suspension arms powder coated, and wheels refurbed as I don't want to miss a day of sun at the moment!) We went of out first road trip on Monday, - 200+ mile round trip down to Lulworth! Even the girlfriend loved it, and didn't complain once about being cold and windswept (the roadtrip was her idea!)1 point

I had the same fiasco a few years back. Told me no stock but pay for them now and we'll post automatically when they come in next week. Week comes and goes so I call them .. "we never ordered them because they're in stock all the time" Oh, and when they did arrive, they were worse than the originals .. by a long way!! All that for two nylon collars .. I wish I knew someone that could run them up locally. Landed up re-using my originals packed up with a bit of graphite grease like Trustyjust did.1 point

My employer binned off company cars three years ago. After they tried to make everybody select a Prius and after only one take on in the UK, they gave up. Peasants like me get £400 taxable allowance a month and 21p (I think) a mile. Which more than pays for my 10 year old Mondeo which does 0 business miles a year and costs me about £400 a year Instead it goes straight into the ST and Westie fund1 point

Hello - Plans are to leave M&S Ashbourne (DE6 1DG) at 10.30am so if you want to feed and wee please get there earlier. Travel in convoy to Tatenhill Airfield (DE13 9PD). Photos and deep searching questions about the process of self building a plane and the mechanics etc are welcome. Official pilots forecast is reasonable so flying is a real possibility. Glen, Julie, Martyn and Sue are booked in for a flight and Big Bro is aware that others might also like a trip. BBQ is organised at the Airfield Club House. No drop outs at the moment so the list is : Julie and Glen, Martyn and Sue, Dave Eastwood and ..., Andy and Becky plus Clare and me. If any of you can't make it, please drop a note to the reserves listed on this page. Look forward to seeing you and pray for good weather! Andrew1 point

I put loads of graphite grease in mine and it makes it smoother and no play. You could remove it and use some very thin shimming material to take up the wear by sliding between the column and bush .1 point

they are easy to make but better if you make an exact fit to your housing and column to get the tightest fit and no play. 10 minutes on the lathe. Happy to make if you are local to Kent postcode tn8 if if you only have a small amount of slack just painting the column where it rubs may be enough to improve1 point

ECOR = ex-chairman off road After weeks and weeks of work and several thousand quid spent, I was putting literally the finishing touches on the full kitchen refit this afternoon. Up a step ladder when without warning the steps shot out from under me sideways and before I knew it, I was on the floor on my left side, dazed and confused. After about 30 seconds, the pain started to get my attention big style. Within two minutes, I was really suffering and in extreme pain, particularly my lower left arm. One ambulance ride to A & E later (no blues and twos, how disappointing, but lots of gas and air) and three hours later, I'm home with a broken left ulna fractured just above the wrist, which still hurts like hell. Worse, with my forearm in a full cast, no driving for six weeks. First time I've ever broken a major bone in my life, a record I was proud of. This sucks.0 points
