This story has definitely pushed a few of my hot buttons: http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-london-40960346 First of all, the trial is ongoing so won't comment on the guilt or innocence of the accused, but I'm heartily sick of dangerous cyclists on the roads (and pavements!) harming people AND heartily sick of people not paying a blind bit of attention because they're too focused on their phones, causing accidents, injuries and many other issues. It's high time bicycles were made to have a number plate (issued and made ONLY by the government, perhaps by prisoners) so bad cycling could be reported, which would also help stolen bicycles to be found more quickly if they could be read by ANPR cameras in police cars. The behaviour of bad cyclists ends up unfairly tarring the good cyclists, who are the majority, with the same brush. Pedestrians who cause a nuisance due to being busy and distracted from making love to their phones while walking should get a public order ticket as well. I've lost track of the smartphone idiots who bump into me or make me take evasive action. Why are dumb people allowed to have smartphones? Rant over for now...1 point

Yes, I've got some Mickmade sill and chassis protectors on the way. Th steering wheel will eventually be swapped for a quick release one and the type 9 gearbox will be swapped for a BGH box with longer 1st and taller 5th. I've got a set of groove and dimple vented discs sat here waiting to go on but I'm not sure they will fit the calipers without giving it a stiff looking at. And those front indicators will have to go..1 point

6 Westfields (plus AdgeC in a Triking and Ian in a Z3) from the Dorset WSCC headed to Wiscombe Hill Climb in Devon and the start of the Woolbridge Motor Club Tour. The Tour started off with each car completing the hill climb course then following a set of TULIP route diagrams over around seventy miles to the FAA Museum at Yeovilton whilst finding clues to answer a list of questions. After logging in with the clerk of the course we headed off to the nearby Podimore Inn for a bowl of chips and refreshing beverage. All enjoyed and it was universally agreed to add to next years calendar.1 point

This was our seconded foray into the Cotwolds within 2 weeks taking in some new roads after a good bit of research. Some great views again and fab little B and C roads. We covered some 170 miles and finished at the Falcon Pub for the Warwickshire area monthly meet. A good turn out with 10 cars as well.1 point

Just keep trying them out, you'll be amazed at the number of different seating arrangements there are! If you're struggling to get your legs into the footwell, it might be the steering wheel set up as well as the seat, and some different dash arrangements can reduce space too. You'll find the one that's right for you soon enough!1 point

@Man On The Clapham Omnibus and @DamperMan, Grumpy at the both of you - I really do like Wheat beer. So reading this at 9am with no prospect of a pint of it for at least 4 hours is torture... My preference is Ale > Wheat beer > Larger (but never the regular stuff like Carling or Fosters), but sometimes when the mood / weather / food (Kebab, Mexican or Indian) / entertainment stars align a cold bottle of Corona / Moretti / Kingfisher does hit the spot. Back to wheat beer - especially Hoegaarden - and why do I feel this will go down like the anchovy comment, would you ever put a slice of orange in it? The first time I got served it I was in Atlanta airport and I thought what the devil, but I actually really liked it and have 'done it' quite a few times since1 point

Unfortunately it is not the mode of transport but the muppet on it. My first reaction is to agree with Scott because as a regular user of the crossings just outside Monument tube station or the Bank, I've lost track of the times I've nearly been mown down by a cyclist or mobile phone obsessed 'business person' And this nadger riding a track bike on the public roads is a spanner of the highest order. But... How many nadgers do we see on the roads in Max Power wannabe Civics, Fiestas, Pugs etc (with plates) also driving in exactly the same way the tool was riding his bike. For every idiot cyclist or horse rider on the roads around here, there has been twice as many utterly decent ones who appreciate you have gone out of your way to avoid them and genuinely wave and thank you. So it leaves me to conclude it's the person and not the mode of transport. Feet, bike, horse, car all have their own fair share of muppets. I do wish every day for some some of common sense / decency test for which failure results in deportation to Mars.1 point

Completely agree with this and I did exactly that with my current Westie. My SEIW was ex-hillclimb with all the right bits mechanically but needing a fair amount of TLC and was in this ballpark price-wise. Definitely buy on mechanical spec for what you want to do with it, then 'upgrade-itis' will set in.... Matt1 point

A couple of circumstances in my life have changed very recently and as much as it pains me the westfield is up for sale. For those who don't know the car my build thread is here http://forum.wscc.co.uk/forum/topic/120683-steves-sport-250-build 2017 westfield sport 250. This is not a sport 250 in the factory sense where everything is brand new. I used a starter kit with a low miles engine, gearbox and a refurbished 3.62 LSD. However every other component is brand new. The car has covered 1500 miles since it was registered on the 1st May this year. Engine and transmission 2014 2.0 ecoboost engine. Bought from a breakers with 9k miles. Ford racing bosch ecu. Ready mapped out of the box. 252 bhp and an 80lbft increase in torque to up over 300lbft. Titan shortened alloy sump and balance shaft delete carried out. Mustang inlet manifold. Westfield 3" exhaust with cat and carbon can. Competition clutch stage 2, nice and controllable not too heavy. Mazda mx5 mk3 5 speed box, bought with 40k on it. New propshaft Refurbished sierra 3.62 LSD. Coolex rad and intercooler package. Revotec high power fan and controller. Lightweight powervamp gel battery. Chassis, suspension and steering Same chassis as the mega s2000 with the improvements in rack position and strengthening at the rear. Powder coated satin black. Westfield wide track front. Alloy uprights all round Protech dampers and faulkner springs, dampers anodised black. New 2.4 quick steering rack. Go race upper steering column complete with ball bearing quick release and momo team 280mm wheel. Wheels and brakes 15" team dynamics pro race 1.2 in gloss black. Brand new toyo R1r tyres only covered 300 miles. 205/50 rears and 195/50 fronts Front brakes 280 mm wilwood midilites with drilled and grooved discs Rear brakes, golf calipers, grooved discs. S2000 handbrake lever. Body Zk front body with v8 bonnet and FW rear in postoffice red. Front carbon csr wings. One does have a couple of scratches, I also have a brand new set of carbon rounded wings waiting to fit. Carbon rear wing protectors Carbon roll bar mounts Carbon indicator pods 5 3/4 headlights with led headlight bulbs and led side lights. Msa roll bar with approval stickers. Interior Jk composites grp seats with carbon tops. Black seat pads with red piping. Schroth harnesses with 3" shoulder harnesses and 2" lap belts. AIM MXS strada colour dash display. With customisable displays and shift lights etc. Standard westfield switch set mounted on an abs dash panel. I have a carbon dash panel to go with the car, I had planned to swap it over during winter. Fully carpeted and quilted vinyl tunnel top and outer side panels. Taller sport turbo windscreen and matching sidescreens. Also will come with a pair of poly carb wind deflectors. Fitted with heater and wipers. There's probably a few things I've missed and will amend as I remember. As above car will come with an extra set of carbon wings and a blank carbon dash, ive also got a set of red grp roll bar covers un cut, spare wiper blades, a couple of spare oil filters and enough fully synthetic oil for an oil change. Probably a few other odds and sods aswell. The car drives very well and has been mechanically flawless in the first 1500 miles, the only teething issues I've had have been generally of my own making, I was having issues with cooling but this has now been rectified with radiator ducting and the addition of the fan controller, temps are now rock solid. The car is savagely quick, in any gear it has the torque to just up and go. So you can drive like a loony if you wish or stick it in 4th and 5th and cruise to your hearts content. Now the big question. Price. This car will cost you 30k from westfield as a basic no option car or 25k as a basic kit. I sacrificed the new engine, box and diff to keep the rest of the build to a high spec. The only other one ive seen for sale is up for £35000. now sold Car is located in Houston renfrewshire, just west of Glasgow airport. Available for any viewings although I am away from 30th August til 16 September with work. test drives will be with me driving. Loads of pics in my build thread and I'll link to some shortly.
