Today has been a long one ! The hotel at Lourdes had its own resident Alsatian which as some of you know don't agree with me on these euro tours :-/ It was a wet start and @Terryathome dash 2 was playing up but we pressed on, climbing the Pyrenees started with thick fog but soon cleared. Then we got caught up in a cycle race which was a bit of a pain but didn't last all day. We stopped for a quick coffee stop and changed from doors to half doors and wind deflectors as the heat was building. The afternoon has been extremely hot but so many miles of brilliant twisty roads has made it a great day . We have made it to our villa near Barcelona for a 4 day stop and we are all exhausted, so a quick trip to the shops and time to relax :-) here's a few pics.. nice handbag Terry :-03 points

I will put a bit of my experience here... from the other side of the line. Now I own ex-adam's car. Is an independent wide body with a 260 hp redtop engine. Car is worth roughly about twice as current adam's one. I have to admit, that after driving current Adam's car, ive been tempted a couple of times to sell my car and buy a cheap lightweight live axle car. If the car is well done, with the propper tuning and good gearing ratios, is the way to go. Having an expensive beast, from my point of view, it only have sense for competition use. Adam's car, is about 2 seconds slower than mine in a single lap in blyton... but is very capable in twisty tracks like 3 sisters. In the other hand... drive the cheap live axle of adam is much more enjoyable than driving mine. If I was buying now, and i knew what i know now, i would definitely be buying a live axle zetec.2 points

Hello. I've just joined the forum as i need inspiration in regards with where to go forward with my 1995 crossflow powered, narrow bodied Westfield. I bought the kit in 1994 completing the build and registering it in 1995 and have owned it ever since (scary to think that was 23 years ago). The cars been off the road for a couple of years as i was restoring a classic BMW and had no time to drive it but with that now sold I have time to give it some attention. I could just MOT and drive it but as the bodywork is getting a little tatty with the usual star cracks and stonechips I've decided to repair and re-paint it. As you can see from the pictures I built it with the classic clamshell type wings but I'm now considering a change to cycle wings. I'd like to hear Westfield owners views on this as a few people have said the clamshell's suit the classic look of my particular car better. Heres the car. Many Thanks. Paul.1 point

The power level you are looking at is 'just right' IMO, given my past experience. Having a look at as many cars as you can will give you a feel for what's good and what's not. Remember that things like seats and wheels can be changed easily, engines / gearboxes / diffs / carbs to injection etc. are more involved! Where are you based? You should be able to pop down to a local meet to see a few cars and get some passenger rides! £7500 will get you a very good car with a live axle if you are prepared to wait for a good one to come up. This is the car I have now: And this is what it is capable of http://www.youtubemultiplier.com/58e80c736f5e0-westfield-1-8-zetec-vs-caterham-r5000.php1 point

Might be worth asking Halfords? But individually they won't be so cheap as this set! Depending on how many you are missing it could be cheaper splashing out £38.25 on this set and you will also have plenty more spares to lose!1 point

OK, first off, unlike some, as a club, we have no specific policy, (currently) on what can and can't be posted specifically in a For Sale thread, outside of the normal rules for all posting, or the restriction of non-member sales being in their own section. So it's very much a case of courtesy and discretion. Recently though, and with no wish to single any individuals out, there have been a few sales threads with some very, very off topic discussions kicking off, or discussions about price. First and foremost can I remind everyone of one key point. - In order to post an advert, you have to be a paid up member of the club. Please understand that this means some members will even pay to join the club in order to sell items, and now consider the Fro Sale posts once more in this light. It is essentially a Classified Sales section, that is free to use for members, or that you can buy the use of in as little as 60 day chunks. Would you scrawl extra messages all over some ones sales advert in the Newsagents window? Would you book advertising space in the local paper to comment on the advert immediately above yours? Normal good manners would suggest no, unless there was something factually wrong/misleading about the advert, in which case you'd report it. Our For Sale section is essentially the same. Except that, potential buyers have the luxury of asking questions, getting clarification about features etc, Even a certain amount of good natured "bumping-up" is accepted. (Posting some trivial comment to move the post back to the top of the un-read list). Prices are always a contentious topic, and while no one wants to censor their discussion, there is a time and place. If you have comments you feel would benefit the seller, you can either use the PM system to discuss them privately, OR, start a fresh thread (ideally in the Members Only section), and invite the poster of the sales thread to discuss it there. There may be very good and logical reasons why something is priced the way it is, but crashing the adverts themselves benefits no one in the long run, and ultimately discourages people from using them in the first place. If on the other hand, you believe an advert contains a deliberate or even malicious falsehood, please do not hesitate to use the report button on that post, and the moderators will look into it.1 point

So is this free advertising for the B & B or is the bill presented later? Lol. Great views.1 point

Hi Julie. I built a medieval hall at the hotel a number of years ago. The staff used to bring me a breakfast on a morning and I thought it was free. At the end of the job I was presented with a bill of £480.00. I was actually up there today with my grand - daughter in Buttercup.1 point
