  2. Whenever I hear about these sort of things I can't help but think of all those doctors and nurses struggling day in day out due to a shortage of money in the NHS, having to decide who can and who can't have life saving treatments due to the cost...

  3. Sat quietly at the traffic lights this evening and a Mk4 Golf GTi pulls up alongside in the right hand filter lane. First thought was that Google must be testing driverless cars in Telford until I realised the driver was of a certain type and had his seat reclined to almost horizontal I hear a high pitched attempt at the English language "I'm with you bro, Friday night innit" "Pardon" says I "Friday night innit and we iz out in our sports cars innit" Stifling a laugh I respond "Its a Golf" "Nah, bro, its a turbo innit, well rapid - beats everything bro" Fortunately lights for straight on turn green and I tootle off smiling at the deluced nature of the poor bloke

  5. Sorted, I'm booked in. Thanks for the code @Kevin (Mr T) - Joint Essex AO £7.45 saved! Took a flyer that as it's going to a lovely dry and sunny day that we won't need a garage! (Guessing you can sort it on the day or book it separately if needed?!) £30 will pay for more fuel for the track!

  7. Hello Just to let you all know that I have taken over the role of South West AO from @Darrell O'Neill who has held the position for a fair few years now. I'm sure you will all join me in saying a big thank you for his time in the role. This is the first time for me doing a role like this so I need to find my feet and get an idea of our members' locations so we can arrange a convenient place for meets or blats out (I'm in Camborne). I'm open to all suggestions that you might have for days out, meeting places etc. I'm also in touch with a couple of other local clubs to maybe arrange a joint meet up with other enthusiasts. I will keep you updated. So don't be shy come and say hello or feel free to PM me! I'm looking forward to meeting as many local members as I can , so let's see what we can make happen. Martin

  19. That's what happens when you get old, Gary - you can't spot a wind-up and you forget how to use apostrophes! (No apostrophe in "fella's" - must be the effects of long-term CF poisoning...)

  21. If your car has the old style fuseholder blocks on top of the tunnel just in front of the scuttle, maybe check there? Could have pulled a Lucar off the bottom easy enough under those circumstances.

  27. If you get up our way @Jim G you'd be able to see a few varieties ranging from my 2.0 Zetec to a turbo Hayabusa and 4x4 cosworth Dax. Being a similar "biker from the teens" type I might have an idea of what you like. Must admit I fancied a BEC but am now really happy with the grunt of a car engine in a nice light package.
