Thankyou very much @Andy Banks - Chairman it's the way we roll, but the welcome and friendship we have received since joining has been incredible, I think we are lifers with the club.4 points

Mark, It's a lovely road. I can see why Clarkson likes it so much. The only downside is that the added interest following the Top Gear exposure prompted some d*head to slap a 40mph restriction to it. Pity about the weather. If you manage to get there very early on a weekday (I suppose) you could ignore the nanny state and rag you car both ways as there are no speed cameras, only dozy sheep to worry about. Not that I did exactly that officer.....3 points

Another awesome Silverstone weekend (2 in 2 weeks)..A brilliant weekend of racing and wandering round International and National pit lanes, The historic Formula 1 cars running the 3ltr Cosworth engines sounded awesome Got to say Robin you looked like a drowned rat when you emerged from your tent this morning and how AndyR fitted in that micro tent I will never know Steve & Elena3 points

No such thing as heavy rain....only inappropriate clothing. I was with Ali and Gail the first time they drove through biblical rain with no roof and doors. I wish you could have seen the smiles on their faces. The rain is all part of the fun.2 points

Well set of this morning, 10mins in heavy rain, stopped umbrella out lol, then off we went again down the Brecon road ,black mountain pass in sight!! It hammered down ,jumped out threw roof up, then it was the art how to climb in with brother in-law in passages seat, not a good sight for passers by, this is where I thought I need to cut down on the fry ups ,any way got there ,a great driving road ,he is a few pics of westie in the rain ,1 point

Meet 10.30 am at Hulme End Tea Junction, SK17 0EZ and follow @Trevturtle until we get to the largest Lemon Meringue Pies in the land, at Denstone. Having re-fuelled our tummies we will go to the Victorian Pumping Station at Claymills DE13 0DB, for privileged parking and a visit on a rare 'steaming day' Yes, it is August Bank Holiday weekend and it is The Gold Cup at Oulton Park, but this event is also not to be missed, so instead of choosing we will go to both, why wouldn't you?1 point

Dax Rush is now owned by Man Motorsport in Kippax, Leeds, West Yorkshire. They might be able to help.1 point

Interesting take on the Seven, the Rush, and a neat attempt to update it. As for Sierra front uprights, our Westfield Sierra SDV has the same uprights, so an SDV owner might be able to help. I think he's converted to Cortina style front end, now, as there's more choice of upgrade parts, but @Chris King - Webmaster and Joint North East AO Might know, his is an SDV type car. Oh and we'd love to see pics of the Dax; it's the variety of cars some of our owners have that makes this such a fantastic club!1 point

Well set of Saturday morning at 7 , roof off, sky's grey but loved the 3 hour journey up, the V8 didn't miss a beat music to my ears!! ,passing two other Westfields on the way , driver and passengers waving franticly, brought a great smile to my face, today Sunday popping to see a friend at Symonds yat who's got a great b&b right on the river, with safe parking for my car, (Garth Cottage if anyone fancies a visit ) then Monday, black mountain pass with brother in-law who's more of a bike fan, but popped out for a short blast, his words ,quick as my bike but no crash helmet, lol1 point

Aye, the irony of it, the tank will take you even further, but the boot box holds half as much.1 point
-
Looks like a long range boot box to me, same as mine. It's the fuel tank that's long range, the boot box will only take you 50miles ;-)1 point

I have the same boiler and I just put all my details in the online calculator to work out what I wanted. The boiler is so quiet and uses so little gas.....well, less than my old 24i. I am really pleased.1 point

We swapped our last year (for a new oil installation) - we had 3 guys round, all of them recommended the Worcester kit. (Although its made down the road from me). 34 kw seems high to me. We've got a 32kw in a 4 bed barn, with high ceilings and no cavity wall insulation (obviously) and it warms up really quickly when we put the heating on. (Not that I ever let Mrs H put the heating on). ETA : Actually, I don't know if oil / gas is a direct comparison.1 point

@Andy Banks - Chairman ... as discussed at Silverstone the eBay code for this is 382110664292. You can get left hand and right hand versions so make sure you got for the left hand if you want it in the same spot as mine. A search will find multiple sellers for this so you may find it cheaper.1 point

Thanks for the heads up on these @Stuart Faulkner - Shows & Events Coordinator. I should be able to attend the Classic Motor show at Wentworth assuming the weather is good ... after Silverstone I've already had my fair share of driving in the rain .1 point

I used to buy laptops for the business I worked in. Settled on HP after trying a few brands. My responsibility was only for 100 or so at any given time but the wider business had them in the tens of thousands and also went with HP. I also went with HP servers and workstations as well. Not brand loyalty, just found them to be the best all round of those I'd tried for what we wanted. if you do end up with a machine that has loads of bloat ware, you can usually remove it with a bit of effort but sometimes you'll find the most random and bizarre hurdles to jump before you can get rid of it. The single most random one I came across was an app that wouldn't uninstall unless you disabled the DVD drive first......1 point

That's us home after a great trip round the NC500, ended up clocking a 1000miles in all weathers and no real issues. We had a wiper blade spring broke, were a friendly garage sorted it out, the bracket from the silencer gave way after the navigator took us off road and the bolt gave way, a bungee sorted that out for the rest of the trip and a battery replacement overall we got of light. If your every thinking of doing this trip, you need to book accommodation now for next year as the places go quick. Plenty of petrol places and applecross was a great road...1 point

I can't believe I've been 'stood up' by two AO's It's only a bit of cloud sweat ! i was the only Westie there luckily the MEV guys are a friendly bunch! Even their designer comes to their annual track day ! i tried to 'fly the Westfield' flag though I'd been poorly equipped by the absent AO's anyway the 'show must go on' and the Peak District was driven through Even buzzed past here:1 point
