So, time to do some DIY . I have flattened the garage ceiling today and am painting tomorrow with Polycell Crack free ceiling paint, which leaves a matt white finish, but what is the best paint for the walls ? I have painted them previously with cheapo emulsion and they have started to yellow weirdly for a non oil paint. Think I may have glossed them even longer ago and thats creeping through. So, do I paint it again with white emulsion or something else ? Also, am looking at a pair of roller shutter doors,so can anyone recommend anyone to supply and install in the south ? Want to be warmer in the garage Westie tinkering this winter and less rain and wind coming in to the garage !!1 point

I have similar hard plastic tiles- I cut them neatly with a coarse jigsaw blade on low speed so it doesn't melt1 point

As for flooring, I bought these to fit. http://mototile.com And I got the heavy duty in grey with the button finish. They lock together really well and are virtually indestructible in fact the reason I haven't finished the installation is I'm trying to find somewhere local with a sheet metal guillotine to cut the edge tiles to size. I'd recommend taking a look, especially as they do different colours and can add logos so you can go really fancy with the look. I went for plain dark grey, the closest I could find to oil drip colour...1 point

The bigger doors are pricey at 424 quid. And there's a bit of an issue with the vinyl staying stuck to them at present aswell. If you've already got the screen pillars then you'll just need the glass with frame so best give the parts dept a buzz. I checked my Invoice for mine but it was listed as a full kit. If you have a standard screen the supports will need tilting back slightly as the screen is reclined a bit more but you would need to fit to suit the doors. No heated option at present in the taller screen afaik. When i ordered mine last year it was something they were looking into but I've not heard anyone get one yet. I'm 6ft4 and am well below the screen frame. The 50mm extra does make a difference.1 point

This is not correct. You do not need a national A for any production catagory, only for Sports Libre and Racing car catagories if over 2000cc.1 point

I am of the inclination to believe that the man-made climate change lark is a method of weaning the people off hydro carbons but not because of any environmental issues, but purely for the reasons you state Jeff. That is because the major sources of supply are variously unfriendly, unstable, or unreliable. That would never sell reduction in use, so a more emotive and frightening reason was dreamt up. A lot of otherwise intelligent people have actually swallowed it too.1 point

You'll get plenty of support pre-purchase and someone on here may join you to view! Just ask!1 point

I would be happy to help as we live near Fakenham. I'm not expert in all things Westfield but happy to chat and bring 10 years of Westfield ownership into the equation. Give me a call on 07887491212 if you like. Oh, and good luck with the start of your adventure!1 point

Welcome ! When I was buying early this year I was in a similar position and ended up upping my budget, I found that another grand at around 8k ish puts you in a spot where more modern engines start to appear and a lot more cars sit, so more to choose from. Look at the classified's for an example, a Mazda sdv car there for 8k been prepped by nms, an injection car and you get a lot of stuff with it. all parts readily available and its much much newer tech. (Don't know the car by the way). Just what I found anyway, that just a bit more cash goes a long way in the Westfield world. Good luck with the search.1 point

That's us home after a great trip round the NC500, ended up clocking a 1000miles in all weathers and no real issues. We had a wiper blade spring broke, were a friendly garage sorted it out, the bracket from the silencer gave way after the navigator took us off road and the bolt gave way, a bungee sorted that out for the rest of the trip and a battery replacement overall we got of light. If your every thinking of doing this trip, you need to book accommodation now for next year as the places go quick. Plenty of petrol places and applecross was a great road...1 point

Like Fuel cells, the powers that be are not actually interested in a solution - there will be some corporate back scratching artificial solution with turns out to be a problem that then needs another solution which needs another 2 billion investment fund... Rinse and Repeat... going on here All the power that be have vested interests in perpetuating this for as long as possible...1 point

It is indeed a very sad case but to say Doctors are playing god is disingenuous to those in the medical profession. This child by any rational judgment is only alive because the machinery and the skill of those involved in his care and without this he would have already been dead. To compare the two case you have is wrong, the first case was a disagreement of what was the best treatment and it is conceivable that the recovery would have been the same doing what the hospital recommended, he has not been cured by the way, there is still a long way to go there and that child could walk talk breath unaided with full brain function. Sadly Charlie Gard has none of those functions and from everything I have read it is the right decision to withdrawn the machinery that keeps him alive. The parents are understandably upset and have done what they feel is right but now is time to let go. Reading that the mother had been told of kids who had the same terrible illness that their son has who are now riding bikes talking etc. is just giving them false hope. Subjecting this child to treatment is not the right thing. Doctors make life and death decisions every day, they do not play god they act in the best interests of the patient at all times and are bound by strict legal and moral rules. In the case of a child the parents cannot discharge a child if the hospital feel it is not safe to do so, in the case of an adult it is the same and as here courts appoint people to represent them both. This has become a media circus with the Pope, a religious nut job from the States and Trump all getting involved and yet all the medical experts who have seen the case in the UK and in the EU court of appeal all agree GOSH (who are the worlds leading paediatric hospital) are correct. I just hope that this can be concluded and the family can move on, but I fear this will drag on and on and the outcome will still be the same.1 point
