Today started after another hearty breakfast with a walk it Tintagel Castle, this reminded us we prefer driving not walking so back to Westy it was. We took B roads via Slaughter Bridge past the old air field to north of Bodmin moor. Unfortunately the A30 is the only real choice to Bodmin itself but we wanted to go via Jamaica Inn so needs must, we did manage a bit off piste to stop all the dual carriageway. It was then on to Bodmin Jail, we found it brill and well worth a stop, indeed 2 hours soon passed. Next it was on to Padstein!, Porthcothan, Mawgan Porth and Newquay for brew and wee stop again. Next were Portreath, Gwithian, Hayle and another stop by St Ives. Next was the B3306 to St Just, "The best road in Cornwall" proboly. It was then on for our final photo opurtunity at Lands End when we had our last picture taken 27 years ago on our honeymoon, time flies I guess. It was the a short final trip to Mousehole were we rest tonight5 points

What I find strange is how quickly standards have fallen. I am no prude but hard core swearing in front of women and children is simply wrong. The problem is we have pop stars signing using those words, we see films using those words so the examples are set. The owner of Sam Smiths brewery has banned swearing in his pubs, his attitude is seen as old fashioned yet many support him, but it is trying to push water uphill with a straw. What I find most shocking is now women, especially in business, feel they must do the same and use as many swear words as they can in presentations to appear one of the guy's or hip. It is sad and unnecessary to do so. No doubt some will say it is down to us older people wanting to turn the clock back, yes I would to a time where respect wasn't something gained by a gun or by being a criminal. A time where being a criminal didn't get you a better job or a TV show. A time where the police were a force, not a service and where they knew what was right and wrong and were supported by the public to make things better. A time where parents taught their children to sit down and behave in examples like the aeroplane journey. Probably too late to turn it back now.3 points

Danes Dyke is a great little spot. Its between Sewerby and Flamborough. There are speed bumps but Buttercup easily goes over them with no issue. Small parking charge but there is loads of parking. Cafe is really well priced and a cup of tea is only £1.00. Toilets are clean. Loads of woodland walks through the woods and you can even walk along the cliff tops.2 points

Respect, there's perhaps the key word. Too many people lost sight of what the word respect really meant, now to so many it's some distorted gagsta speak concept that only applies to others treatment of themselves, rather than the proper meaning of respect and how it's applied to others. The thing with the swearing is it's not the words, the language as such, it's the lack of respect and thought for the other person that it's use often implies.2 points

The radtec is proven in two turbo 300bhp+ installs that I know of. Intake temps ridiculously low and coolant temps rock solid. I like coolex but I do think the radtec is worth the extra. It really has been fit and forget for me.2 points

Looks fantastic fun. I always look at Jamaica Inn signs when I fly passed in the family wagon on the A30 heading to see family in Falmouth. One day the latest wife and myself will take the Westie down for a buzz round for a few days2 points

Gotta love a jail described as a family attraction - there's a few members of my family I'd happily sling into a jail.2 points

I went through the options and ended up with the coolex. The rad tec unit is very pretty and more efficient probably as the intercooler doesn't block off any of the rad. However it's a. Lots more money. B. There are quite a few radtec rad failures reported and c. The guy on the phone didn't seem remotely interested in my business. The coolex unit is a bit clunky and could be refined a bit more. The intercooler shape could do with changing a bit so the end tanks don't block off a bit of the rad. The plus side with coolex is Alastair is great to deal with and they generally have stock of everything. The other thing with the coolex package the fan is a no brand job and their quoted flow rates aren't great. I bought my own revotec fan and sent it to coolex and they mounted it up for me. The package copes perfectly well with my 250 bhp however I did have to duct the nose otherwise too much air escapes over the top of the unit. Doing it again. I would still go Coolex Rad but I would try to sort the intercooler shape out by either seeing if they can alter or by finding a better fitting intercooler elsewhere.2 points

Hi All, Car now sold to a great guy called David. Given I now don't own a Westfield anymore, I'd just like to say a huge thanks to everyone who has helped me on the forum over the past two years. You've taught me a lot about cars and encouraged me to research a job that needs doing to the car and tackle it well. What a car too. Performance, road trips, smiles and the thrill of waking up early on a Sunday morning to go for a drive. My wife has embraced it all too and loved every minute of it! I'm still keeping my membership of the WSCC, and who knows, maybe I'll get the opportunity to become a Westfield owner again one day. Cheers for now, Rob2 points

So today we woke to an over cast Mousehole but left the roof off and water proofs in the boot. We thought double sausage and bacon would provide the water proofing. We had a lovely walk round the harbour before getting Mrs P ready for today's adventures. As we took the storm cap off a tall elderly New Zealand gentleman, about 75 ish walked over and shock my hand and introduced him self as a member of the NZMG club. He told of his last adventure in his MGA roadster taking 17000 km round Australia, NewZealand and believe or not Canada. We talked the talk, he left and I thought ummm, what if! We set of along the coast via,Newlyn, Penzance, Marazion, Helston and the Lizard, even some seals came to say hi along with the biggest Cornish pasty I have ever had the pleasure of eating Next we went Gweek to the Seal Sanctuary, yes I'm 6'2" 19 stone ex British forces and rugby player but their so cute, you gotta go! But allow 2 hours. We always take the shortest route we can, it gets you to hidden gems. After Gweek we went to, Brill, Treverva, Falmouth and Pendennis Castle. Next we took the ferry over the river Fal to St Maws then headed north literally hugging the coast and best guessing as we could then it happened. PORTHOLLAND. It's a secret don't tell anyone. We then left to Boswinger and a few others to Mevagissey for our rest for a couple of nights. Yes I know still no mention of rain but after touring Scotland with @Geoffrey (Buttercup) - North Yorkshire AO, @Garyt and @ziplob anything other than you needing an Ark isn't rain Night all1 point

I had the golf one on mine and it struggled on track with my feeble 224 BHP. That was also ducted as per the Westfield race ducting. Yes that is only a sample size of 2, one that worked and one that did not, I stuck on a radtec with no other changes and no further issues.1 point

Perfect temps for a Westie blat this afternoon instead of watching the Snoozeprix at Silverstone in Berkshire . Apparently the damage caused by my fuel burning is minimal to the amount of violent noisy flatulence I create on a continual basis , according to the wife, so when I am 6 ft under, global warming will slow down anyway.................1 point

Scott, if it's the red one you are referring too it is a low line, but it's not @bollockybill's car, it's mine and is actually up for sale on the forum. It is the one @bollockybill and I rebuilt as a project car over winter last year. BB does have two red Westies though, a V8 and a Vauxhall VX, they look like a pair of bookends next to each other in his garage1 point

Very jealous. Every time I go to Marazion I wish I took the Westfield. Although threading the discovery through mousehole is amusing for the rest of it the Westfield would be better!1 point

Nice one Geoffery, The music didn't spoil it one bit, but I did turn it down a little. Already planning our third trip next year. Wouldn't mind some of that blue stuff for the trip, got very wet this year, but thoroughly enjoyed every mile. John.1 point
