This might be a bit of a sore subject, but I never actually got a photo of Dave's car, it went a bit quick and that was it, done and parked up, oops. The good news is though that I managed a few snaps of the other cars. Stephen's 11 looking very stunningly beautiful. Simon's Westfield, below, is 30 years old, so if you are like me and wondering about the longevity of your car, don't worry, it could possibly out live you. By the size of the smile on his face I think it is safe to say that he is enjoying his first ever entry into the Speed Series. If you want to have a go at entering the Speed Series this car is up for sale, £5500, it lives only a few miles away from Blyton. What are you waiting for? Yet another brilliant day out for the spectators. Our friendly Speed Series were as welcoming as ever and Blyton is always a great little venue. Thank you all3 points

Had a brilliant day today in glorious sunshine. Had breakfast in a cafe at the head of Driffield canal to begin with. A load of scooters arrived and they waited outside the cafe and a number of them kept coming into the cafe and asking to use the toilet, and not one of them bought anything. I thought that was a bit bad. Next stop was Fimber Halt and this is a disused railway station and goods yard. You can get a cup of tea here and there are toilets and plenty of parking. Then over to Kirkham Abbey and we had a mooch around the river. Spent a while watching dragonflies chasing each other by a weir. Next it was Castle Howard, Ampleforth, Byland Abbey and then we called in at the Yorkshire Gliding Club for coffee and cake and to watch the gliders for an hour. We even spotted an aero-screened glider. In Helmsley we spotted a well know red Westfield that seems to be following me all over the country. perhaps I have an admirer. Then over onto the moors on brilliant single track roads and headed to Rosedale Chimney. Saw plenty of feral goats. Grosmont was next on the agenda and did hope to see steam trains but unfortunately the station was empty. Whitby, Sandsend and Scarborough followed and then home. It has been a great day and here are a few pictures for you.1 point

John is just a little short of volunteers for tomorrow, so if you can spare a few hours just turn up at Blyton and ask in the signing on room for John Williams. Thank you.1 point

Dave, stick a picture up on your hose to show a 'better' way of mounting the pressure switch . Its something I may do at some point as the sender is quite heavy.1 point

as @IanKsaid, it will come out with time and care. Being brass, it's much softer than the engine casing which will let go eventually. if there isn't enough material for you to work with consider getting a stud extractor kit (off ebay) or similar. they have left hand threads so as you tighten the extractor eventually the residual brass sender bit will unscrew from the block.1 point

nice write up and good publicity, although my concern is you still refer to my car as"your factory demo car". Just think of all the fun you'd have missed had you beaten me to it...1 point

Nice one Ian although I am concerned that in the article you refer to your pants and that the car is an extension of you!!!! Maybe you can clarify at next months meeting.1 point

Thanks Craig, I think I will just order it then. Was going to order a few back issues anyway (sad I know) as I've been away for a while. Cheers for your reply.1 point

I did the same trying to fix a leak on mine last year, though it was the adapter that snapped off. I was able to use a cutting disk in a dremmel to cut a slot in the brass piece and then used a flat bladed screw driver bit in a 1/4" drive ratchet to screw it out. Take you time and take care and I'm sure you'll have similar success. I've previously used Hondabond to get an oil tight seal, however recently found mine had come loose, so I've now used high temp, oil reistant loctite 2701.1 point

Agree with Chris. There have been cases were Facebook posts have resulted in the crim handing him or herself in after seeing the evidence.1 point
