  3. Hi all, I sold my Westy about two years ago and have missed it ever since. Then randomly about 3 weeks ago my brother sent me an advert on car and classic and it was my old Westy! I just had to have it back. Got lots of plans for it this time including not to sell it this time! Anyway it's great to be back and here are a few pics, the car has been on the forum for years... And here it is in a previous live being given its amazing paint job by Jeff, it still shines fantastically today.... http://forum.wscc.co.uk/forum/topic/48731-repairing-and-painting-a-westfield/

  4. Tyres kicked and nuts tightened. MOT booked for Wednesday, 12th July. Apart from not actually driving Mr G yet, we have no idea how he will perform. Final push on Sunday, wash and wax. Well, at least a wash. Fingers crossed, watch this space. What could possibly go wrong?

  5. Felt insanely quick for such a big car and lots of fun toys to destract you from the inevitable boredom that would set in driving one. Sadly, also probably a fair glimpse of the future. Mind you, find a way to inject soul/charisma into one and it would be devastating! (Though ugly as sin!)

  6. Very cool - my son keeps looking in the Showroom window when we are in Knutsford and asking when we can have one. I keep trying to explain it costs quite a lot of money..... Never been in one so sad to have missed this Yes sorry couldn't make it, see you soon.

  8. My brother-in-law and I had an enjoyable morning session especially him managing to spin right in front of me - IN MY CAR! Due to an oil leak I pulled the afternoon session, after getting home i identified the oil as gearbox, although at Blyton it looked like engine oil, so it looks like the slight weep past the input shaft seal has become a bit more serious especially when the box is hot. So to sum up, a fantastic morning of being a mobile chicane, but an early bath! @John Williams - WSCC Competition Secretary Many thanks Ian

  9. Yup, an enjoyable day, thanks to all the organising team. Unfortunately for me my car suffered from the intermittent miss fire yet again. I still managed a few good sessions though, and will get some video of the days happenings at some point.

  14. Agree, impressive but as I said before, battery life being what it is, just how much will a 4 year Tesla be worth? My iPhone tends to have battery problems after 3 to 4 years.... all that ludicrous mode would kill it by 4!!

  17. Good turnout last night including a few new faces. Sorry not to see @6carjon, @BillyPee or @1960dave The evening was even more special as several of us got to take a Tesla Model X P90D for a run in Ludicrous mode and it is! Even @6carjon may have had to work hard to keep up with it! Shame the nice Tesla sales man had come along to talk to the Ferarri club who we share the carpark with on Summer nights. They didn't seem to interested. We kept him busy though! 19. This is the high level brake light I went for, and I know many others in here have as well: http://www.s-v-c.co.uk/product/red-led-high-level-brake-light-/ Mounted it under the centre of the roll hoop. Just took the roll hoop off the car and drilled three holes in the underside (not an issue when you're not competing), two for the self tappers and a slightly larger one for the wire to run down inside the hoop and out the bottom near side at the base. Tap into the power wire for the brake light and ground it somewhere convenient, add a grommet to protect the wire from chaffing where it goes into the roll hoop, job done. Nice and bright, unobtrusive, and I feel less invisible as well.

  20. Thanks Rhett the boss was spot on, with no mods! I know the small wheel is not to everybody taste but it's the same as I had on my last one and loved it 'driving with a flick of the wrist' lol,

  22. If you want to be proper picky, you haven't maintained the twist on the pairs properly for CAT6 spec..... I tend to use copper where I can. I've avoided going overboard though, no patch frame at home, thank you very much. Saw enough of that at work to last me several lifetimes.
