Yep made it there and home Nae issues would have been great if you could have joined us Ok so just home from clan mcwesty's annual pilgrimage to applecross Arrived teatime on Friday and booked into the campsite, got the tent pitched , kettle on and opened a cider. The troops arrived and with all settled in the Barbi was lit and the gazebo put up, a great evening of BBQ bevy and craic to the wee hours Up Saturday morning and off to the walled garden for brekkie and then a day of great driving roads up over the pass and up to the viewpoint on the glenelg road ( ferry not running , high winds) so back via Kyle of lochalsh to plockton up to sheidig and back to applecross. The roads were fantastic and even the torrential downpours couldn't dampen anyone's spirit, one downside was Brian's clutch breaking but he limped her back to the campsite and arranged recovery for this morning Saturday night we had some excellent food at the applecross inn and some great banter, stories and company Sunday dawned .... wet again but forecast to be better so after packing we all headed for breakfast before going over the pass to strath carron where we went our separate ways So a great weekend if you weren't there you missed a good'un a big thanks tae bob for organising it and the lads on the bbq and all that came for making a great weekend this IS what the clubs about , having a good time with friends old and new, haste ye back4 points

Thanks to all, especially Alan and the unknown hero in the blue MGB for their help in getting my car back to the campsite last night after clutch packed in. Big up to ALPS Road Rescue ( http://www.alpsltd.co.uk/road-rescue-solutions/road-rescue/ ) for arranging the recovery of my car from Applecross to my home and to Morar Motors (Applecross to Kyle of Lochalsh to Stirling Services) and to CVS24 for the final leg from Stirling Services to my house. Got back at 7pm. All included as part of my insurance cover with M R Bloor. Sorry for the blatant advertising, but credit where it's due! Thanks to Rab and everyone else involved in the organisation of the weekend, well done to the guys on the barbecue! Great fun, fantastic company. We should do it in the summer next year!2 points

Yes I was warned previously ( no names ) to the extent that I had a personal AAB proof hard hat made especially for whenever I was on line . Not sure if it was 100% successful2 points

It's worse than you think, an American was on the club committee for five years. There's just no accounting for things sometimes.2 points

OkeyDokey. . . . We'll be meeting in Hellifield @ large pull in just North of village around 11am for a prompt departure when the York contingent pass through. Please post on this thread if joining from Manc/Clitheroe way and I will coordinate our approach! 1 option would be to head out a bit earlier via scenic route for morning cake & coffee in Hazy Days Cafe in Hellifield at 10 am. Robin has booked us into museum for 1230.1 point

A big thank you to Andrew, one, for printing the tickets off for me and two, for travelling 2 hours to get there today. 5 cars met at The Knockerdown Inn, sounds like a wife beaters pub that one, i won't stay long. We tried to be quiet so we didn't wake the campers, but the donkey braying in the field was doing a good job of waking everyone up. Martyn and Sue, Andrew, Alan, Paul and Pat, thank you all for getting up early. We went 2 minutes, round the corner and set up our display, all lined up with the flags proudly flying, and then it rained. Misty, drizzly wet stuff, the sort that was not forecast, I might add. Canvas pumps plus wet grass equals not good chief. Andrew cheered us up as he lifted his bonnet off. We were discussing which car was our favourite of the show and all our choices changed when this muscle machine turned up, a Mustang Mach 1. It didn't even have dirt on it's tyres, fully restored and kept very original, it took your breath away. Jason joined us in his Karmann Ghia and all 9 of us went for lunch in the cafe together, hoping the rain would pass over. It didn't and I suggested that we called it a day, but they are a hardy lot these Westfield owners and everyone suitably ignored me . Paul and Pat put the roof on the VX and reluctantly went home, heck, within 20 minutes the skies cleared, so I reinstated my original plan and we went for a cheeky photo at Crich Stand. It is a cracking little place, nice and quiet with outdoor seating at the cafe with sweeping views over the countryside. It made a peaceful end to a great day with good company.1 point

Anything where the participants are American or Mockney, e.g American Pickers Combat Dealers etc . Also left wing news broadcasts and the odious Diane Abbot. I am getting annoyed just typing this , think I will retire to the garage and hammer something!1 point

@Marto303 is irreplaceable!! But based on the options you've suggested, I'd try out option 1 on a simple job and see how it goes - time taken, quality of repair and cost etc. Then work up from there. Or buy a trailer with the money you'll waste on inferior workmanship and just take it to Martin!1 point

Was given a long sleep in this morning and got to open my Fathers Day presents ... a pair of 'classic' Sparco racing shoes and a framed embroidery of 'Roary'. Well chuffed and I'm just going out on a 'short' blat to test out the shoes :-) @Robin (Red Spider) - Yorkshire AO please thank Elizabeth again for an exceptional piece of work that looks great in the frame. She has a real talent and I bet there are others on the forum that would love something similar.1 point

Thanks Andy, she is taking orders for the embroidery. If anyone is interested, please contact me and we will sort something out . I will be starting a proper thread for this soon.1 point
