  1. Quinten isn't married to the forums - he was last on the forums about 6:30 last night and is totally unaware of the financial offers we started last night after that, so let's not jump to conclusions. Considering what he's got on his plate at the moment, plus the fact he has a real life as well, he will no doubt be delighted when he logs in again and reads this thread.

  2. Hi Everyone Thanks very much for thr overwhelming support for the 2017 Gluten Free Dinner, absolutely superb! I am in the process of sorting the mini bus transport again for this year but I do need to know rhe numbers who like to use the service for a very reasonable small charge. To make it easy and simple would those of you who have booked for the meal but DO NOT need a mini bus ride please either put a post on this thread or email me on g.frankland@btinternet.com and I will do the rest! Many thanks and look forward to seeing you all at Blyton very soon! BR Glutey

  3. The night I am out to fulfil my duties as AO, it all kicks off... who picked a pub with no 3G reception?!? You guys are the best! I will shortly set up a Just Giving page and I will only need a regular contribution from all members until I turn 55 when I can dip in the pension fund No seriously, I'm really flattered with all the responses, the WSCC is the best club, with the bestest members So last night was our monthly meet and some new options came forward, one of them being a hydraulic fuel lock caused by a stuck open injector. @black st once again kindly offered to pop round with his tools and expertise, so I will keep the thread updated with our findings and am keeping my fingers crossed that it is that, and not bottom end... Hi Kenny, I did note your offer, and also the comments that it needs some further modifications to get it working. I'm no mechanic (looks are deceiving) so it would have not been my first choice. I'm grateful for each and every response that has been given, that's what makes me so proud to be part of this club

  4. I think we need to see how @Quinten Uijldert - Northants AO feels about our help before we put this any further forward . Quinten , as you can see, we would like to help you get the car back on the road

  6. Matthew turned up, in his Westfield this time, he was in the GTM Libra last time at GBS. Jason, who has a Zetec engined Tiger, orange, roll caged and aeroscreened turned up in his Karmann Ghia, bit of a difference there then. Lots of nice cars and a great atmosphere, top job.

  7. Thanks to everyone for all your birthday wishes. I drove over one of my favourite roads, over the tops of Buxton and back down the other side, very scenic and twisty, if followed by a large black cloud. We went a walk around Rudyard Lake before having lunch, well mid-afternoon Carvery, and then back over the tops to finish at the Hope Car Show. My bestest friend turned up, who does not normally understand the concept of driving to a pub. She is on tablets and can't drink at the moment, so we went to The Wheatsheaf and drove home in the dark, on empty roads, brill. Cake is today, we somehow didn't get time yesterday!!! Pictures of the car show are in the events section.

  9. After all the trials and tribulations of the upgrade from crossflow to Zetec I'm guessing it's a case of "sick to my stomach" right now. I know I'd be gutted and probably not particularly bothered about checking messages/forum for a bit.

  10. Try putting it in first, or is it because the supercharger is spinning the wrong way!

  11. You just have to look at the Classic Car prices to realise ours are priced way too low. They are more fun and much easier to look after.

  12. The 2017 Gluten Free Dinner is booked and places are being taken up quickly. So to avoid your disappointment of not being able to join us at this annual night of merriment go straight to the Blyton 2017 Web page and book your places early. I will try and book minibuses again and will contact you all again shortly to see how many of you would like to make use of this much in demand service! Looking forward to a great night once again. Best wishers Glutey

And this was translated by my Dutch boss - who has a strange sense of humor - so if I've just told you to go **** yourself, not my fault honest..!

  26. Andy_R - If you get on to Mull, easy wild camping at calgary bay or Gribun (see pic below) - both easily doable in a Westy and the roads are terrific. Dave.

  28. @Davep1 Again, thanks for the nod on the camper. It was a two year build, the missus not my greatest fan being a garage widow during that time - I don't dare ask to build a Westfield! But getting lots of use out of the camper now. Whether it's on the bike, or in the camper, previous MX5's or now the Westfiled, she loves touring. Your Delica SpaceGear, being 4WD, gives you that advantage of getting that little bit further off the tarmac. Was looking on google earth to figure out where you might have pitched up and figured a great Westfield loop... @Andy_R et al...From Ft William, down to Inversanda on the A861, There, turn off onto the B8043 all the way down to Lochaline and catch the ferry over to Mull for a loop of the island, overnight at Tobermory. Next morning, catch the ferry over to Kilchoan, follow the road east to Salen. There, turn north onto the A861 up to the A830, to turn left out to Mallaig for lunch, then a ferry onto Skye, or return back to Ft William. Incidently, that B8043 stretch is the only bit I haven't done, and I reckon you'd be hard done by if more than a dozen cars came the other way. In fact, more than half of the above is single track, but the traffic is so minimal - just means you have to keep your wits about you on crests and corners. We did it all on the bike so if you're caught by surprise you can squeeze past someone with a prayer.

  32. Rain is inevitable tomorrow - going to get drenched - but just to show it has been mostly sun and fun... Oh - and yes, before you say anything I know one of the cars has a screen - but that's Ken's and he joined in from darn sarf (although he's from up our way originally) - the rest of us are hardy Northern types
