Another great day our. Getting to think Miss Julie is training for a butty & cake critic for best cafe stops. Two good calls today, as well as some decent roads in between. And yes I did find my way home (eventually)......3 points

This is a great free app, type in a reg and you get car details, road tax info, mot info on any vehicle. You can then add cars to your 'garage' so can keep track of when your car tax and mot due dates on multiple vehicles. You can also see mileage details on the mot data, handy to keep an eye on if you are on limited mileage, also you can see mot history and advisories.2 points

A most excellent day out, full of Westfields, starting off watching the sprinting at Curborough. There were Trevturtle, IanK, Paul Hammond(VX220), Gail and Ali, Alan, Chris and Dave. Conversation was only interrupted when a Westfield went past on the track and everyone went 'lens up' After receiving some good advice about my lambda sensor and the more important subject of how to navigate by sex shops. @AndrewBClarke you should have been there, Sex Shop Rob was mentioned. Curborough is difficult to find and the A38 all looks the same, but if you come from the North, like me, you just take the turning after the sex shop, easy. Like when we used to meet at the sex shop for the Horsepower at the Hall. No-one forgets where the sex shops are. Moving quickly on, cake time, I mean lunchtime was fast approaching, so we gathered together for Ian to take our photo as we left, which was mighty kind of him. Dave, Chris, Alan, Ian and me headed into the Peak District, to end up at The Tea Junction in Hulme End. We could all have had single seater cars today. Chris commented that when we turned onto the smaller, back roads, he thought 'here we go, she's leading us straight into cow poo land again' True to some extent, but it is all dried up and the cars stayed clean, thankfully. We had lunch, followed by cake, lemon curdy cake for me, oh heaven, then some free flapjack for being good customers, then more tea. All this allowed time for the conversation to head downhill, as it usually does, Ian had us in stitches with his 'taxi' stories. To think, I went in his car last time we were out, if I only had known!! I think this lot are looking for Glen, you won't find him there, he is with his glove in the lost property box Thanks for coming everyone and thanks to the Speed Series guys for making us welcome when you probably have a lot going on.2 points

If I'm not at Glenshee ski centre, carry on without me. I'm guessing you'll be there about 12 noon in order to get to Aboyne before 1pm, so if I'm coming, I'll try to be there for 11:30. I'm hoping for the weather to improve as I'm coming over 2 mountain ranges, but fingers crossed!2 points

A novice approaching the Molehill on his first run, he blamed the throttle sticking opening, managed a 360 to set at time of 68.74, final run throttle stuck open in same place....Meanwhile he managed a 59.81 on his first timed run not pushing the throttle down as hard......1 point

You should have seen the exhaust at the back! (I hadn't actually seen the front till I saw Ian's photos!)1 point

If you squint and face the other way with your hand over your eyes... To be honest, one look from any direction and the proportions didn't look right, quite apart from a virtually stock Toyota dash1 point

A great day out and thanks as usual to @Julie Hall - AO Representative, Peak District AO leading us on a great run. If anyone wants the high res photo of any of above, just send me a PM. Had good discussions with the friendly Speed Series Competitors and they even took time out of their busy schedule to come and have a look at our cars!1 point

4 New/old rims with used 888's fitted., I bought them to swop from the set on car but never got round to using them, so thats why i say new/used. Gloss black, 7Jx15, e23 the toyos are 205 50 15, what Gavin at Westfield told me to have! There were to go on my wide bodied Westfield. All tyres have between 4-5mm tread left, one tyre was scuffed/worn on the wheel arch as per photo. Does £550 ono appeal? Any questions and I'll do my best to answer. Located in just sth of Redditch, not a million miles from M42/M5 Simon1 point

A crossflow with a nice head, cam, light flywheel and a good gearbox still makes a great car. No reason you can't do the same kind of fuel injection conversion as we've done with Scott's CVH for close to £1000 too, if you're determined.1 point

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Generation_Snowflake Generation Snowflake, or Snowflake Generation, is a term used to characterize the young adults of the 2010s as being more prone to taking offence and less resilient than previous generations, or as being too emotionally vulnerable to cope with views that challenge their own. The term is considered derogatory. A couple of 'breaking news' stories have made me wonder if our tolerance of "**** happens" has really gone down in recent years. My example was last summer at the end of the music festival season, I was on the train home and a girl in her teens was walking up the carriage in floods of tears begging for an iPhone charger because hers had gone flat. Go back a generation and listening to my dad... "The Russians came at 2am and forced us to leave the farmhouse at gun point and put us on a train to Siberia - it was quite an adventure except we had to leave the dog behind" "The two winters I spent in Siberia were a lot of fun - except we had to eat our horses" "The battle at Monte Cassino was quite exciting - except for when the Americans bombed us by mistake - three times" I know the old ones are made from tougher stuff, but have we really gone so pathetic in two generations..?1 point
