Back in my day, that bit at the back is what qualified as a rear diffuser, just remove your spare tyre and away you go, not the fancy things you can get these days, get off my lawn, kids these days don't know they're born, etc.3 points

Took all the fuses out and put them back, checked and cleaned the plugs and took the foam filters off my carb trumpets and turned the fuel pressure down to 3 psi. Went for a blast and the rev counter is working again, how very strange. The engine runs and sounds much better with the foam filters off and it seems ok with 3psi instead of 3.5. The mighty crossflow is back to its best !! .3 points

That does look quite realistic, but I have a thing about carbon fibre effect, I think it goes back to when my Gran bought me a "rocksport" jumper for Christmas thinking it was a branded Rockport one, oh how my friends laughed.2 points

Well - snap again Mart, because I also bought the first one i saw. It was a revelation to drive ... calm and then ... as angry as you like OllieB - I can forgive a few 'wrinkles' when it's on the cam and comes alive ... I really think the live axle is a better than it sounds 'on paper'. Love the independent set-up but I'm very happy with the way this one works. The key, I think, is to have good dampers in good working order so that they DO ACTUALLY adjust. Once you get in-tune with it, you can chuck it around with confidence ... Often I like to write something I've done without starting a new topic. I guess others might be the same and want to share and experience or something westfield related without actually asking a question. So I thought I'd start a thread and if it dies it dies if not "winner "1 point

So 7 months ago i started my winter upgrades. The upgrades started as planning as an engine and gearbox change from silvertop zetec and mt75 gearbox. Changing to what i planned to be a standard ST150 engine and type 9 gearbox. This (along with some carbon added) was meant to be the only change but as so often happens i got a little carried away with my self which caused a full strip and re build and as such the budget that id set to blown miles out of the water. Brand new Body work painted in kawasaki green. Re bushed all wishbones and a ton more carbon soon followed. The engine i purchased was an ST150 that had the internals re worked and fully re built, and an SPC type 9 box. Which againblew the budget even further. The engine is now running on jenvey throttle bodies and has a custom exhaust from AAS in newcastle. Car was meant to have the MOT 2 weeks ago but and oil leak from the gearbox put an end to that hope. Anyway shes passed today with flying colours. Time to put a few miles on the engine before it goes to JDM dyno on the 12th for a mapping session before i can fully enjoy it again.1 point

Sorry I can't make this ... my seats are out of Roary as I'm replacing the carpet and my exhaust is going to Wun Off Exhausts (thanks for the advice @Dave Eastwood (Gadgetman) - Club Secretary) tomorrow. Roary should be back on the road in just under two weeks time.1 point

I will have to have a scan of your itinerary would like to meet up for a few hours run. I'm near Glasgow so probably when you're a bit further towards the south1 point

Yes, that's the one. It's better to take the pies away and eat them at the harbour or by the river. We usually go to Achmelvich beach, which isn't far away, and eat them there. It's a narrow road to get to it, but do-able. My favourite is Venison & Cranberry pie - it's a little deer, err I mean dear (groan, I'll get my coat!). Ali, are you travelling down from Orkney with Geofferey, or are you going separately? I've lost track of who is joining the party at various points. I'll meet you at the Battlefield anyway, whichever day you are there. Our astronomical observatory (Highlands Astronomical Society) is on the same site at the other end of the car park from the visitor centre. Afterwards, we can drive down into the Cairngorms.1 point

We're going to the Silverstone Cars&Coffee on the 21st, but you're most welcome to have a look/fit before/after that.1 point

Agree with Mighty Mart, mines crossflow and red can't do the narrow but it has a live axle. Out yesterday in the sun much popping and banging and my rev counter decided to pack in, another little job ,I hate weird electrical stuff.1 point

To answer John's question, I put myself down in the Experts! Previous history is several years playing around on track days, then at the end of last year I entered 4 hill climbs, 3 at Harewood (my local hill) and my first one was Oliver's Mount - various people thought I was mad doing this as my first experience, but I enjoyed it, came last in class, but came back for more. I will leave it with the 'committee' to decide if this is the correct class.1 point

Funnily enough Gazza, I picked mine up 3 summers ago from just North of Brighton. Cardinal sin...bought the first one I saw but got a Good'un luckily. Fell in love with the cross flow noise and popping and banging on the lift off. Not much room, being a narrow, noisy and stinks of fuel as on twin 45's, but it has the ability to lift your spirits and cleanse the soul that more modern units cannot do IMHO... old school rules lol... Hi David. Not sure about Beauly this year. I did look on the map but not going that far over. I could always take a camping stove and if you can get the recipe we could make some by the roadside somewhere. I like the sound of the pies....perhaps that is why I am so overweight. More than happy to meet you at Culloden and already looking forward to it. Wonder if Les can join us.1 point

I sent you a pm Geoffrey, but I'm planning on meeting you on Thursday 1st June as you pass through Kyle of Lochalsh on your way up to Durness. I'll be with you up to Lochinver as I have been requested to bring back pies from the Lochinver Pie Shop for the family. The pies are legendary, and the best you'll ever eat! (worth a look at their website). I'll also meet up on your way down through the Cairngorms on the Monday after your Orkney visit. I live about 7 miles from the Culloden Battlefield site, so if you're planning a visit there, I could meet you. Did you manage to fit in a visit to Beauly in your itinerary for your French Toast? It was being an hour late setting off that did it. Nothing to do with me filling up with V-power diesel (pumps look soooo similar) honest...1 point
