Hmmm me too. Looking at them too. Great value tow cars. Also consider Honda Civic tourer, loads of room or a HR-V cos the wife likes the hondas! otherwise I have mostly been emptying diesel out of my Westy fuel tank! Oooops4 points

... spec-ing up a Skoda vRS Estate and a Superb Estate. The 5 series touring goes back in June and the new ones are starting to look expensive for what I'd like, so setting my sights on something with a bit more VFM.3 points

So I have to come clean now...I brought home my first Westfield yesterday. It is the Glen from Manchester built one that I bought from JonD that was recently advertised for sale (Westfield 2.0 Duratec SEiW with 2000S chassis (Colour - Black).). It wasn't a V8 I thought I'd buy, and I don't think I could have found a better put together and better looked after car...which came with a load of bits. I was out in it three time yesterday, including in the dark (brought back very distant memories of rallying in deepest Wales in the 70's!!). Whilst have have been a life long (fast) motorcycle fan (best bike I ever owned was a 1990 Kawasaki ZXR750 h2, which reminds me of the Westfield), I think the Westfield is better (but that's just my opinion!!). And I have just thought that as it has a full cage, I can probably get a soft-bag roof box and get to Le Mans at some point with out having to sleep in a hedge!! Thank you to all those that gave such good advice...just now got to find time to get out and about in it!!2 points

The 2017 Gluten Free Dinner is booked and places are being taken up quickly. So to avoid your disappointment of not being able to join us at this annual night of merriment go straight to the Blyton 2017 Web page and book your places early. I will try and book minibuses again and will contact you all again shortly to see how many of you would like to make use of this much in demand service! Looking forward to a great night once again. Best wishers Glutey1 point

It is the breakfast meet at Curborough Sprint Course, Lichfield, WS13 8EJ on Saturday 13th May from 8.30 until 11.30. We will be there from mid-morning onwards and if it's nice we will be coming home through the Peak District. Everyone is welcome to come and join us, so please do. Rumour has it there might be some Speed Series members on track too, so bring your camera. Not only is there a Westfield Factory photo competition running but there is the 2018 WSCC calendar to consider too, and action shots make the grade. Fingers crossed for dry weather this time.1 point

Well this afternoon I was finishing off my IVA forms, and printing off some photos of the build, then posting it all off to Swansea.1 point

It was being an hour late setting off that did it. Nothing to do with me filling up with V-power diesel (pumps look soooo similar) honest...1 point

After going to Silverstone on a track day my R1R's where well scrubbed, and ware across each block indicating they may not be the best tyre to hold together for me on the track. I've bought some R888r's for track days and wanted some wheels.. I decided to "up-cycle" the wheels which came on my car and have been replaced with TD 1.2's. Over the last few weeks In the evenings I have been stripping the old wheels. They where pug 205 speedline wheels. The finish was a sort of gunmetal metallic with the texture of 400 grit. Regardless of the finish and marks the paint was a total b***d to get off. I used paint stripper, an automated shot blaster and a sandblasted. As it was wet paint and I'm powdercoating I didn't want the paint to bubble so I had to get it all off. To be honest I got almost all off it off the fronts but was less bothered at the back. They are only wheels! ... this lunchtime I sent them though the paint oven twice and powder coated them. Basically a light coating of powder onto the cold wheel. Then though the oven, while still really hot add some more powder and sending back though the oven to cure. They turned out ok. Our oven holes are designed to fit the largest damper conceived. It's little challenge lining the wheels up to go though Its 220 degrees in their! a tight squeeze though the "S"es1 point

Thank you, its definitely having some love thrown at it, not that I think it has ever not been pretty well pampered. Been down to Intatrim this morning and agreed on materials, colours, stitching etc of the new seats - very happy with what we have agreed, also sorted out a matching gear lever gaiter to tie it all together Just another 4-6 weeks to wait, giving me time to work out how I'm going to wire in the heated seats - wiring is not my strong point1 point

I'm a very proud dad today after watching my lad (14) cross the line after a hard 35 mile hike across Dartmoor . At one point this morning we didn't think they would make the 5.00 PM cut off time as there check point time were really slow and we had no Idea why as there is no communication with the team's. Unfortunately one of the their team was suffering with bad blisters on his feet the team helped him for around 10 mile Trying to get him to the finish, but I'm the end he crashed out as he knew he going to stop the team finishing .in the end the remaining 5 made up time and finished with 55 minutes spare. I take my hat off to the 2500 teenagers that took part in it and and the Army , Navy and Dartmoor rescue team and all the volunteers that put this event together and watch over everyone .1 point

From the left, meeting at The Wheatsheaf, we have Dave, IanK, us, AndyR, Alan, Trevor, Rob and Owen, and Billy. 8 Westfields, fantastic, meaning there were a lot of panorama shots today. That is good news for me and bad news for the others, why?, because when Trevor is with us, he has everybody running from one side to the other, to try and get people into both sides of the photo, which is most hilarious. After coffee we set off on some big roads and then took a cheeky right turn and went up onto the tops, to smaller roads, no traffic and just the most fantastic views, it was stunning in the sunshine. We wiggled a circle back down to The Millstone Country pub, where I had booked a table for 10 people. The carvery and the normal menu were being served, all of it delicious and only empty plates went back. The pub is in a lovely place and this picture only catches part of the view. In the car park the 'Westfield Running Club' were diving in on my panorama shots again. You can see them on the left here but they are just not quick enough to get round to the other side before the camera stops, I hope that they can all drive a bit quicker than they can run!!! It took 3 attempts to get that shot, little did they know that if I had got the perfect shot first time I would not have told them, and I would keep making them run Glen and Dave look like they have been practicing their choreography, look at them, perfectly synchronized, I am impressed. And a shot below, taken after lunch, when everyone is feeling too full to run. Too full to run, but not too full to eat cake. Off we went again, on a scenic route, that cut out busy Bakewell, to land us at our favourite cafe, The Tea Junction in Hulme End. All the cakes are baked by the owner, Rebecca, who always comes out to see our cars, and today she blagged a ride for one of the waitresses. I took her up into the National Speed Limit zone, which she enjoyed very much. Cake, we have to have a cake photo, with the obligatory steering wheel in the shot. That's all folks, Westfield's scattered in every direction from there. That's just leaves me left to apologise for Glen finding his glove and spoiling all the fun and banter on the forum, the challenge is on for who can steal his glove and let it recommence, you lot are naughtier than me sometimes. Thanks for coming everyone, it's been a brilliant day out with such fun people.1 point
