  1. After really enjoying last year in the Seight, I've now now booked again! but I'll be in the slow green one with clamshells half the power of last year and huge rear view mirrors to keep an eye on the turbo boys. Ian

  3. Cracking weekend last year on my first ever track day. Everyone is exceptionally friendly and helpful that turns up here. Booked up for a repeat this year

  4. The correct numbers are: "It’s a drive-by limit of 95 decibels at 20metres from the edge of the track. That’s around 105db static although there is no mathematical correlation." Therefore normal Westfield's should be fine; last year there were one/two just touching the noise limit; drifting is not allowed which does hit the noise limiter. I can have a DB meter at stonleigh if you need to measure. cheers John

  8. Adam at CleaR Motorsport set my car up last week, yesterday was the first chance i had for a quick blat, the car felt very planted and a vast improvement. Trackday at Blyton tomorrow to give it a real test, but feeling very confident. Adam was more than happy to explain exactly what he was doing and why he was doing it. He even looked at some other issue i had with the car...(got 70mm of travel on the throttle pedal now Adam) i would definitely recommend Adam and CleaR Motorsport to anyone needing their car setting up... fantastic service, very knowledgable and a nice fella too. thanks again Adam, will sort some trackday tutition soon... Cheers Greggs...

  12. Thank you all for the welcome. Re the crossflow, it is such a diddy little thing compared to the Pinto in my last one. Like I say it is pretty fruity. Built for track days rather than road and is dry sumped with an A6 cam, roller rockers and lots of other old skool twiddly bits.

  13. You're so damn fussy Cars must be able to get through IVA with carbs. Potentially end up as a Q plate, in which it could constitute a smoke test only. But these X1's are going through on age related plates with carbs .

  14. Considering how tricky some people can find getting out of Westfields quickly, that was a very brave move

  15. Welcome mate and second the comment above lol.... You cannot overstate how much fun you can have using old technology and it somehow seems the right choice of engine in a narrow...

  16. Check weight and size of the packed tent. Airbeams tend to be heavy and bulky. Especially if you are planning on strapping it your westfield. Beware of cheap air tents. Non are great in strong winds but the cheap ones just buckle and collapse. Have had a few entertaining evenings on sites watching air tents and awnings blowing around like tethered kites !!

  17. Well I was stood next to the tester when he weighed my car, so I think I subtract my weight too, just to be on the safe side!

  18. I've been a bit borderline there in the past but that's an S2000 engine near the red line while going past the monitoring point. I did trip it once with a backfire on a gear shift though. Famous last words but I've not been asked to leave yet and have visited a few times and my car isn't subtle on the noise side of things.

  20. I'm currently working on a set of roof poles and I've found some aluminium tubing in homebase, the 8mm tube fits perfectly into the 10mm tube so I can make a tent pole style joint. I'm also thinking about putting elastic through the middle to hold it all together. I'm just working on the clips I've turned up some scrap bits of tube to fit onto the windscreen clips I've made and found a plastic armoured cable cleat that fits the role bar. I'll put up a few pictures later for what I've come with so far

  24. Good fun! Glad I don't have wide track though - some of those roads were rather narrow

  25. Got married yesterday and had the reception at the Bugatti Owners Club, Prescott hill climb. The sun shone and it was brilliant......Not sure the narrow was designed for so many passengers though!!

  27. I'm in Worcester too and attend the Cotswold area meets. Lots of stuff planned this season. There's a Hereford area meet occasionally too - which is always sparsely attended but it's a lovely run to the meeting venue on a sunny evening. Serviced and polished mine over the weekend just waiting for a decent sunny day
