  2. Thanks for the catch up last night Martin, it was very useful. I fixed the indicator issue, because leds are fitted then require a resistor which had lost its connection. Soldering a new wire to the indicator and that fixed the issue. regarding the over heating it appears mine is acting the same as most members running at 70 degrees and fan kicking in @90 when standing still. The fuel smell is my biggest bug bare but Martin came up with some ideas which I am trying. I'll keep you all posted.

  3. Stoneleigh camping 2017. If you have generously offered your time to assist in the best kit car show ever and you want to camp over the weekend then your name will be in the attached list for camping in the WSCC campsite. If you are on the list you will get a camping wristband from security and therefore can camp on our allotted camping area adjacent to the Westfield drift experience. If however you feel that a mistake has been made (we are only human) then contact us at stoneleigh@wscc.co.uk, Stoneleigh campers 2017.pdf

  6. Hi there, we are meeting in McDonalds car park at Boreham/ Springfield Services (CM2 5PS) at 9.15. We'll then have a short sunny drive to Heybridge Basin Daisy Meadow car park (CM9 4RW), where we'll park around 10.00 and go for breakfast at the Tiptree Jam Cafe on the Blackwater shore. Then on to The Lodge (South Woodham Ferrers) for midday...

  7. Agreed Top day, thanks everyone. Hope you find the source of the misfire Andrew! Thought I'd stick a quick video together before bed... pretty scruffy - trying too hard - but flippin' GoPro didn't capture the quickest session so this'll have to do Have more video with other Westies in it, will sort that out and upload asap. See you all again soon hopefully! It's always interesting to see what sort of lap times our little cars are capable of compared to the 'big boys' too: http://fastestlaps.com/tracks/cadwell-park-full-circuit. http://www.youtubemultiplier.com/58e80dc9b4cdb-westfield-1-8-zetec-vs-caterham-r5000.php

  9. Hi all, Thread resurrection or what As you can see I was last looking at Westfield's in 2014 but got side tracked into buying my current ride which I will be selling mid summer ish so am back as a paid up member with a view buying a Westfield this time. Would be looking at pretty much my original post re spec/price, only difference is it would now be mostly track and occasional road use. A question I have is how do the seight's handle on the track, I assume they are nose heavy? More prone to under steer? Light is good but the kid in me does get drawn to the V8. I'll be reading up to get a better insight of Westfield's so again thanks in advance for any tips or advice. Kris

  12. One of the few things I disliked about my car when I collected it were the mirrors, did not look good and also had a tendency to fold in on themselves above a certain speed. After some looking around I decided to try a pair of the ones in the second pic below - I was a little dubious because of the cost but they are actually very good A 300 mile trip round North Wales planned for next Tuesday should allow me to check whether these also fold in

  13. I think they must have weakened since they were fitted Ian, I of course have never exceeded the legal limit

  14. Yeah the £6.99 ebay specials were naff, but believe me they were better than the ones it came with. I only found they collapsed in at over 100 mph - on a track of course, but knowing you were a careful driver and not intending to track it I didn't mention it

  15. I tried that and it did not look quite right, however on going out for a quick drive last night having the triangular bit outboard does restrict the view a little so they will be swapped over this evening

  16. @finkangel was probably blinded by his shoes..and mistyped the colour. We are correcting other parts of the list so we'll fix it.

  19. If you can make Stoneleigh in a few weeks there's bound to be more than one turbo MX5 based Westi to look at.

  20. Just grabbed a quick half an hour or so to re-adjust my headlights so they're not quite doing AWACS search light duty anymore, and give the car a quick vac out.
