  1. Took me a while to get a brake sey up I was happy with - loads of feel and stopping power. Spoiler alert though, you don't need 4 pots

  2. Good Evening, I would like to say hello to everyone and I have joined WSCC as a member today, this is my first post and first ownership of a Westfield Seight 5.0L. I pick it up on Sunday 02/04 and looking forward to hopefully having some good weather for the drive home. I look forward to participating on this forum and will no doubt call upon peoples knowledge over the next coming months if I have any questions relating to my new Westfield

  4. So popped the cherry in the westy at llandow. how much fun are they on track, really intuitive handling, moving about smiling all the way! Great day on Saturday, weather was great and a nice track for the Westfield. very relaxed day. All was going well until the exhaust mount sheared off. Managed to bodge a solid bolt through it and was back out again. Quite a physical car to smash round though, ache all over my top half today. Not anything like doing them a tin top anyway. My question is about brakes. First non servo car I ve ever drove and found it difficult to get the hang of the brakes. I had to really stand on the pedal and i was finding it tough to brake late with any confidence....and im lacking feel. Is really having to push on the pedal normal or shall I look into doing something with them. If doing something to them what do you suggest first? Cheers

  5. I had a great day at Rockingham yesterday and it was good to meet up the rest of the WSCC speed series crowd. I managed to take 4 seconds out of my time from last year with an identical set up so I was pleased with the progress from my first ever sprint a year ago. Well done to Steve for being top Westfield in the class and for pipping Stephen Laing in his R500. Thanks for the good wishes from Stephen - the car is still performing well with Castle Combe the day before and a track shakedown on Friday! Next events for me are Abingdon on 9th April and then Gurston Down on the 22nd.....

  7. May be worth renewing brake fluid while your there as well, if it's many years old.

  8. My speedo did the exact same thing at the weekend. Usually the digital display disappears over the winter but it's the first time the speedo has done this. Got home, left it parked on the drive for half hour, went back out and it was working OK,

  11. Cracking run out to Lake Vyrnwy today, nine Westfields met at the Tudor Rose. We had one brake down, like all good mates we left Martin in the middle of no where waiting for the AA man while the rest of us went for breakfast.

  12. Mad up today got a good manifold at last fitted the webers but found the engine was a tiny bit high. Changed the rubber mount and success after I connected the coil it was alive, with the Lotus throttle arm and a bracket I will have to make that will sort out the under carb linkage £10 in parts and much head scratching.
