  1. Been awful weather and been really busy so not had much time to do anything meaningful with the Westfield since getting it home. Managed to get out for about 30 minutes the weekend before last and noticed there was a clear bad earth on the rear lights so connections stripped down, cleaned, protected and put back. Late afternoon today decided to pop down to the local petrol station and put some fuel in, a nice evening, the right mood and instead of a 10 minute trip it ended up being a 1 1/2 hour blat, managed to grab a couple of reasonable pics It really is a car that once you're in it you just do not want to stop driving - the power and more specifically the delivery of the power is intoxicating, any gear, any speed and it just surges forward. One thing I have learned very quickly is always to be one gear higher than you think you need, the engine braking when changing down could very easily lock the rear end up With a bit luck should be able to start the deep clean today, removing glue / adhesive residue from a few places, decontaminate bodywork, clay and ready for a Sunday afternoon machine polish and waxing session - don't get me wrong its not a mess by any stretch of the imagination but I'm completely OCD :-) Hoping to get to the Loton Park hillclimb weather permitting this Sunday as its free entry for all and only 25 miles away, which may end up being a rather longer route home

  10. It is the problem with most things now in TV land, it is run by young somethings who see a formula and then copy over and over again. So all car shows now need to be a set formula, it goes like this, Find a car, Set a plan which must include a ridiculous time frame. Set about doing the car but this must include small detail on what is actually done and how they can find rare bits in an afternoon. Thrown in a sense of impending doom, paint wrong etc Finally finish it just in the nick of time with teary ends, or successfully waving cash around with a "fake "profit. It is telling that when WD started they had a production team of three, now it is 40, that is what is wrong too many hangers on which pushes up production costs. What made WD special was the time taken in the garage, Edd taking time to show how simple things could be done by average people. For the Love Of cars already had elements of the formula so Ant probably will fit in better with the way the show is going. Just imagine how project Binkey would look if a proper TV production company was running it, it would be nothing like it is now and would be much worse for it.

  13. Well the season gets underway this weekend folks, so can all you folk attending this weekends event get some updates on the Facebook page as the event progresses if you can manage it. I know time is of a premium when your competing but if week could get a few minutes of live feed that would be great. Lets spread the word on the Speed Series.
