  2. Let's face it no matter what the circumstances 35 in a 30 shouldn't even invoke points let alone a totting up ban. Modern cars can stop in half the distance of the figures in the massively outdated highway code. Speed limits and their punishments need an overhaul in general. 20mph outside a school is perfectly sensible during daylight hours. 20mph throughout a whole city 24/7 is a joke. To drive on today's "smart" motorways you need to spend more time looking at your speedo and the overhead gantries to see what the current speed limit is than actually looking at the road ahead. They should have given her a big fine as she can afford it and put the money into improving the roads or the NHS who actually need it.

  3. Spring is finally in the air and I have been gearing up for the new season. I have registered for the Welsh Sports and Saloon Car Championship and Classic Sports Car Club (Magnificent 7's Group 2) series once again having had such fun last year. My first outing will be at Pembrey on the 23rd of April (WSSCC), then off to Silverston at the end of May (CSCC) So far I have replaced the front arches, greased the extinguisher lines, serviced the extinguisher, cut down my aero screen, about to purchase a tonneau and half doors and gave the car an oil service. I have it book into Corinium Motorsport for a but of TCL at the end of the month as well (new swirl pot being on the list along with a shift light) I have a new GoPro as well so I well and truly ready for getting out there. Oh, and I bought some more Super for the Mountfield RS ready for the summer!

  4. On Sunday 9th April there is the first of the year all Ford meet at Squires Cafe, nr Sherburn in Elmet, North Yorkshire (LS25 5LX). It starts fairly early, I will be there at 9.30, and will probably be all over by 1.30 but it's a pretty good show for a nominal cost of a pound or two. I will be in a Ford this year but I have been admitted before in my Westy as have Ricky and Robin last year so I'm not promising but you should get in and if not there are plenty of other places to park and the show will be free then. As for food and drinks virtually anything is available as Squires is a Pub as well as a cafe and I've never been disappointed with any food I've been served up there. Also for anyone else interested in Classic Fords on the previous Sunday there is the Leeming Lodge Classic Ford meet just off the A1 nr Bedale N yorks, further details on Facebook. Barry

  5. Hi, Looking to start getting ready to swap from Weber 40's to injection. After any parts people have spare for sale following upgrades etc. Throttle bodes for DCOE or Bike throttle bodies on correct manifold ECU & Loom - Anything compatible with either of the above.

  6. The easiest way to sum up 'new' TG is how I watch it now. An hour of telly, recorded and at least 50% on fast forward. How they have managed to drag out the star interview, one of the weakest parts of clarkson era TG, into what feels like almost half the show is incredible. Perhapse thats the answer - return to when TG was only 30 mins long and on every week, almost all year, rather than 6 times a year.

  7. yes a strange one that - just hoping I can keep enough speed up to stay up the banking and a bit strange that last Friday was my first time at Silverstone

  8. 1976-- cricket commentator Brian Johnston had the habit of announcing who was bowling and who was the batsman. All went well until West Indies' Michael Holding was bowling to England's Peter Willey which resulted in "the bowler's Holding the batsman's Willey" Much mirth.

  9. Fair enough Clark.. and yes, that Rockingham day is definitely on my radar, but I've got Cadwell and Knockhill to get out of the way first.. don't want to get too far ahead in the booking department.

  12. MUCH better. Very much enjoyed that. Excellent chemistry between the trio and managed not to insult my intelligence. Great production values of course, and new camera angles on the hot lap buries the past. What it should have been last series. Clarkson, May and Hammond looking very dated. Series linked and looking forward to next week's show.
