There are are some traders on here that specialise in shocks etc, Meteor motorsport and DamperMan (spax) are two I can think of, have a look in the WSCC traders section. Otherwise Pro-Tech are highly rated by quite a few members, a number of places sell them Procomp I believe do matched pairs setup for the Westfield and Westfield also sell them, though I guess unless you get an exact replacement then you may end up replacing all 4 dampers.1 point

No need for you to run in a class on your own Maurici. The regs for classes are the technical limit for that class not a requirement, you could join us in D with your existing set up. Class D allows tyres from list 1a, 1b and 1c !!!! So long as you are Road going with H pattern gearbox and no fancy electronic driver aids you'll be very welcome From the times you set last year I think you'd do very well in D and show us ( we'll me for sure ) up on our 1c's.1 point

Thanks mate. Well, as I'm not going to do the full season, is not worth the trouble but no doubt I'll have to swap class in the future if B keeps being the ugly duck. I do have a Hans but i hate it. I have to try this híbrids posh systems to see if they are any better. I thought that for having a loogbook on date harness and seats were mandatory... Anyway many thanks for the explanation!1 point

Thank you for your help everyone. The one in Wigton Motor Club might be a bit scary for me, I am very much a novice, so I have bought the one in Barnsley. It is very original in every way. It has the 1.6, 115 bhp engine and he has thrown a roll bar into the deal, so I hope I can have some fun on the track without doing too much damage if it were to go wrong. It has 14 inch wheels, which I think is unusual for a MX5?? and better for track work?? I just need to work out how to drive it now and after a wiggle round on my own I think I will perhaps get a bit of tuition. Thank again everyone, your offers are so kind, Julie1 point

It's taken a while (for me) but after speaking to @black st at our local meet, he recommended I'd go and see his local fabricator Armour Fabrications in Wollaston. So I did, and he had no problem with extending my tank to "king size". My new all-in-one fuel pump fits neatly and although I need to go back to have the filler neck moved (slight oversight on my part) I'm finally able to close that chapter...1 point

We occupy a warehouse / office that John owns and previously we were based in the building where John ran his Surtees team from. We share some space with the John Surtees and the Henry Surtees foundation. He wasn't in the office often but he couldn't have been nicer and more helpful when I occasionally spoke with him Sadly he had been gravely ill for a few months now and it was only a matter of time but still very sad when his PA emailed through the news. What he achieved on two wheels would have made him a great but add to that his car achievements as a driver and a team owner and all that he has done since is very remarkable. Yet so humble and a gentleman at the same time. He had recently been very concerned at the growth in paying drivers in F1 at the expense of raw talent and it was amazing to see his passion for the subject when chatting to him about it. I once briefly discussed his Ferrari days and he recalled how Enzo was a huge fan of minis and he had a chauffer driven mini that he sent to pick John up from the airport and they then went out in it together ;-). He had no end of fascinating tales and knowledge of a bygone era. In fact John is the only driver to have ever left Ferrari that Enzo asked to come back again but he never did. The Goodwood Revival was very much helped get off the ground by John's contribution. I expect he will be honoured by Lord March in some way this year. He recently bought Buckmore park Kart track and was very active encouraging young talent. I hope that this is renamed as Surtees and as part of the HS foundation this work can continue. David1 point
