  9. Ok so I confess that the one in the middle is me back in the days when I had hair The location is Leisure World in Colchester during my years of RC car racing and if I was to guess for the year it is either 1994 or 95. Your source is wrong about the 2CV though, the Renault 11 is mine :oops or more accurately my parents. I passed my test in the summer of 1994 and then in the winter of 1995/6 I crashed it heavily into the back of van. If I'm not mistaken that's also a Schumacher Boss Cat hiding on the parcel shelf, but I'm ashamed to say I can remember the names of the two shady characters stood beside me

  10. Sorry for the confusion, it's just Howard - that's the name they prefer goes on their carrier sheet that addresses the magazines to their home - now sorted.

  12. No it is either £10 or £15 insertion fee, depending on the category, and 1% of final figure with a maximum of £35 so £50 or slightly less in total.

  13. Another Sophos recommendation. Free and without loads of annoying pop ups trying to sell you a 'full' version.

  15. Yes, 10 Bar is rather high (145 psi) - most engines will be around 3.5 to 4 bar when warm and about 1.5 at idle (depending on oil type and engine condition). You'd almost certainly hit the stops on a 5 bar gauge when cold (72.5 psi) but that would / should soon drop down as it warms up. If you must go for a "bar" type gauge I'd go for a 5 as the engine will spend most of it's time in the upper middle to lower range and that's where you want the clarity - on a 10 bar it'd look like it was always at the lower end of the scale and difficult to see much variation. Of course if you went mechanical with a 100psi gauge (VDO do one) then you have a full scale on the dial as well as clearly defined segments (you also then don't need a whopping great sender hanging off the block - also easy to T in a pressure light switch). https://www.vdo-gauges.com/instruments-displays-and-clusters/by-series/vision-black/oil-pressure/vision-black-100-psi-mechanical-oil-pressure-gauge-with-tubing-kit-and-metric-thread-adapters-12v.html Being old school I still prefer PSI when it comes to oil pressure (but strangely enough MM when it comes to measurement - one of the joys of being ambidextrous )

  17. Make sure the rear wheel arches and sills are sound. Highly likely they will have been repaired so make sure its done well and not just filler. If looking at a MK2 then look even more carefully at the front chassis rails. They rust very badly.

  18. I shall be there on Friday and Saturday (I am committed to a stage rally in Wales on the Sunday). As a man of divided loyalties, I shall be up one day in my Westfield Eleven and the other in my Renault Clio V6. I really hope that the weather is dry on the day I book to bring up the Eleven! Simon

  23. Looks like a nifty idea. I think I see how they get the car in, with the tail lift and extensions. Not sure with the leverage it would pick up a westfield though. But with the amount of Luton vans for sale, it could be quite the project

  25. Used to have, and my ex-wife still does have a 2003 1200cc 3 pot VW Polo, I used to love driving it, it was slow but the porche flat 6 like noise was brilliant, more recently with hire cars i've had Nissan and Skoda 3 potters, the noise makes me smile as much as driving a V8. But, I also had the pleasure, and it was that of having a couple of drives in the Caterham 160s, with the Suzuki 660cc 80bhp 3 cylinder engine, i thoroughly loved it apart from the wide gear ratios especially IIRC between 2nd and 3rd where if not careful the engine comes off boost, it needs boost!

  27. Thirded for both Avast free version or Sophos free version. I had Avast for about 5 or 6 years. Not one bad thing happened. I changed because I went to a Sophos event for my job last year and I was impressed, especially as I hate these sorts of seminars and I am a full blown cynic so I was determined to not be. When my free Avast renewal popped up I decided to change. No issues in the last few months. It just sits there doing it's thing. I know one person who uses Windows Defender with a similarly good experience and at work we use a paid for Symantec/Norton programme and again, no issues there either.

  28. Second for Sophos. I have used multiple providers over the last few years in large environments and Sophos is the only faultless one that I have no complaints about! I have no experience using it as a home user

  30. Try Sophos..... commercial software that is now offered FREE for home users. https://home.sophos.com/ For those that say they use other free products and have not had a virus it probably means the product isn't able to detect anything - they are all signature based applications that are updated daily to find the bad stuff out there.
