The local petrol station cooks hot food on site, Paninis, bacon butties while you wait. I've witnessed many times folk people simply parking their cars/ vans at the petrol pumps without even using them and staying 10 minutes while there food cooks.... GRRRRRR makes me mad!....2 points

Looks like my problem with the oil pressure reading was due to warning levels being set too high in my dash. When I got home tried it again and was getting 90psi at start up, it is only when I left it running for c 10 mins to get the oil warm then I blipped throttle did the warning lights kick in again and the pressure at tick over was over 40psi. I had videoed this and sent it to both the engine builder and Race Technology, Sam (Race Technology) suggests lowering the threshold and also look at smoothing out the reading to stop the fluctuations that I was also seeing. So all seems well.1 point

To add to that stupid women (and it always seems to be them) who fill up with fuel, then go and do their shopping stopping anyone moving on the pumps whilst they do so. I was behind one the other day, who then spent additional time passing over endless coupons for the cashier to try. All the time chaos was going on outside as traffic was backing up on the road.1 point

Why a crossflow Ian ? It will ruin the garage floor with oil leaks . I've sold cars I didnt want to in the past and after a couple of weeks pacing the garage thinking what have I done, thoughts move on. although it took me 10 years to get back into a Westie, I got there in the end.1 point

I suspect they suffer from that big government department issue of just very inconsistently interpreted and hence applied rules. In the past, just getting your friendly local garage to look under the bonnet and say yes, car registration number xxxxxx has engine type xxxxx, number xxxxxxxx fitted, on their own headed paper has been enough. And is sometimes easier and quicker than trying to do it the (possibly correct) way. As ever, it probably stems from badly thought through rules/regulation, hurriedly applied by those without enough technical knowledge of the department they're in control of. It probably barely occurred to themselves responsible that people actually bought and sold engines legally and legitimately, privately, and then installed them themselves. And even then the thought did occur, they just gave a shudder and added it to the "to do list" under items to be provented for "public safety/greater good/crime prevention et al".1 point

Must admit, we were weather watching for this one, and booked the day before.. it's not often we get such mild weather in February. I wouldn't dare book anything weeks in advance this time of year. And, a vid. Pete driving. After he passed the white Exige, the Lotus driver latched onto the back of him, and did a fair job keeping the Westy in sight. They both caught up with the Atom and passed him towards the end.1 point

No we can't, several reasons, but one of them is because when given the benefit of the doubt, we proved we couldn't be trusted and all updated our eighties donor Sierras to modern Zetec and Duratecs, just before completely stripping said Sierras for parts and scraping them so that we could take the registration number etc. Sorry, but in this particular instance your left, sadly reaping the results what our fellow builders thought would be a clever way to get what they wanted.1 point

Doesn't matter who the supplier is, it's the same bit of copper in the ground or swinging from the pole. Switching provider doesn't change that, nor will it magically improve speed or performance. The difference is in the customer service. BT are truly truly awful. Sky are better but if there is a line issue no matter who you use you'll be hitting BT Openreach in the background. If you are a BT customer then change because I wouldn't use them if they paid me. Who you change to is going to be who's advertising you believe/trust the most. And bear in mind Sky have been in the papers for making it difficult to leave, even after the contract is up. Whoever you go with you are likely to have to take their phone line too so look for good deals for new customers, like free line rental or free broadband etc. Vodafone are offering free broadband for new customers who take a new line (might be for FTTC only though) but Vodafone customer service is nearly as bad a BT's so I would avoid.1 point
