Yes, but unlike a car etc, a trailer doesn't have any steering. It will only drop at worst to its rim by approx. 4 inches, make a noise and you will notice and pull over. Its hard likely to lose control and head to the nearest ditch like a car could3 points

Read the info. Apparently the std block can start failing at over 900bhp. Tsk must be pretty poor quality as standard- I'd not bother with these flimsy motors Stu.2 points

No problem. I can think of much better things to do with my time - like wiring in my ECU, fitting my AIM dash, cutting my carbon dash...1 point

I'm 'Manor Auto Services' may upgrade to 'Manor Autosport' soon . My non existent company gave me a Costco card, tickets to the Autosport Show trade day and all manner of trade only services. DVLA never asked me for proof of engine number change.1 point

More or less, indespension wheels, box section chassis in a different shape to suit the load. The older trailers were heavier in galvanised steel and sat on crossply tyres, newer ones are lighter made of all manner of alloys or aluminium and sit on radial tyres.1 point

My entry is in for Rockingham (Class B) and I'm doing the Great Western Sprint at Castle Combe on the Saturday. Busy weekend! I'm also at Rockingham in the MX5 this weekend with my Son.... Simon1 point

To be fair, though initially annoying when you're not used to it from the previous software, I'm actually starting to get used to it and find it useful! I suspect by the time the more important stuff is dealt with, most of us will have got used to it and then will miss it if it's removed!! This could be one of those "you can't win situations". Unless more start struggling with it, I'd probably not bother changing it.1 point

I've had a couple of blow outs on a single axle.. my own fault really. Son's tin top race car was pushing the limits of the tyres. I've since swapped to bigger wheels and higher rated tyres, and so far so good. (touching much wood!) Anyway, on one of the blow outs I was at fairly high speed, and as John says, the thing just drops and makes a noise. The tyre didn't shred or anything like that, and there was no drama at all really. Of course the down side is it has to be fixed instantly, whereas a twin axle you can pootle to a handy lay by. I've since tried a twin axle out for manoeuvring on our very tight drive.. even with the jockey wheel jacked as high as poss, it was going to shorten my life pushing it up the drive. It did have quite a heavy tyre rack and box on the front which wasn't helping.. So I'm stuck with the trusty single axle for now.1 point

I had a blowout on the offside of a single axle returning from a track day. I was on the A34 doing 60- the tyres were probably over 10 years old and a little cracked on the sidewalls, so it was my own fault. Sudden bang and flapping as the shredded side wall flailed around on the arch, but i was able to spot it in my mirror and pull onto hard shoulder without much drama. The worst part was fitting the new one with the traffic howling past. It didn't stop me continuing to use a single axle, I'm just a little more cautious about tyre age now.1 point

In 20 years I've had two blow outs with four wheel trailers. On both occasions I was able to safely come to a stop without any drama, one of them on the M1 was a proper tyre shredder that would not have ended well if it had happened on a two wheel trailer. However the tyres on two wheel trailers are usually highly rated so the overall risk of a full blow out is probably less. 4 wheel for me though.1 point

Ok Julie we won't mention the vase.....….......however here is one that survived! We had a great day, good to see everyone again. Mostly good weather but a little drizzly at times after leaving the sun behind around Ashbourne. It was a pleasant drive home feeling very mild and much like a summer night. We got home around 7pm having covered approximately 180 miles!1 point

Nice photos Julie, and good to meet up. Was an enjoyable day, but could have done with some more company on track. Pete had a good session after you left with the Atom, and the white Exige. (420bhp!!) Will get a video up at some point.. Bad luck Mick with the Busa, but better safe than sorry I suppose.. Some pics from me. Definitely terrorists aboard this Morgan?1 point

Just so you all know, the space in Hall 2 has not been provided to the club free of charge by the organisers, as it had been prior to last year's show. The club is directly paying a four-figure sum for that space, and is doing so solely to promote and support the Speed Series. Therefore it is critical that we get Speed Series cars on stand and granite-solid commitment from the volunteer owners that they will bring their car for both days of the show. In the past, we have had volunteer owners cry off at the very last minute, leaving us with empty stand space, egg on our collective faces and a flea in our ears from the organisers, all of which was most embarrassing and irritating. This is an important one and will definitely affect future Stoneleighs and other promotional ventures if the stand is not filled with Speed Series cars, so your help is not only greatly appreciated, it is vital - thanks.1 point
