  2. This is an ALL AREAs invite from Manchester to go on a roadtrip, meeting in Moffat, Dumfrieshire. Please spread the word and let us see if we can make this a successful adventure! Manchester Area - SATURDAY route will be up through the Western Dales and Lake District then around Galloway Forrest to Moffat. (route tbc) Then SUNDAY around Ettrick and back down through Kielder, Pennines and Eastern Dales. Knackered but happy after two long days Westieing. You are welcome to join up with our route or organise your own clans to make your own way there. I have provisionally booked 2 B&B's (5 mins walk, within few hundred meters of each other) accommodation 8 rooms (of singles/twins/double/triples) for 16 people (or 17 people including up to 5 couples). This works out at an average of £42 per person if rooms full. I will give Manchester Area first shout on rooms then on a first confirmation basis. Both have private Parking. Once (or if) these are filled then you'll need to book own B&B, of which currently there are still plenty with availability. On the Saturday evening I will book a table in Moffat for us all to eat together. Please post confirmed intentions to come along by end of JUNE and if you want to share a room with someone else who is coming. PLEASE let me know asap. As I have already been contacted about which bookings I want to keep (don't think they appreciate so many rooms being booked without names, by one person) ! I will then divvy up accommodation, confirm bookings, collect B&B payments via paypal gift, book table for meal and update this post with any further details. 3. About time too. Managed a healthy 140 mile blast today, Whitchurch, Ruthin, Denbigh, Cerrigydrudion, (Bacon buttie and tea) Bala, Llangollen back to Whitchurch. Man it felt good to be out again. Evo triangle was epic (and empty) Horseshoe pass fabulous too. Roll on Spring

  4. Hello Paid up member now So I did an introduction thread before xmas as I was looking for a westy. Found one I liked and bought her early last month. My introduction to ownership was a 3.5 hour drive home. It was just above freezing, but thankfully dry. A severe case of cold right arm , and plenty of encouragement from people on the motorway (or was that laughing, I cant remember). Anyway shes a zetec on throttlebodies, sew, quaife diff, bgh gear box and some other nice bits. She goes really nicely at just over 300bhp per ton. Pretty good road manners, and does not really want for anything. I ve just cleaned it properly as it was a bit grubby. I want to go through it fluids wise and probably a cambelt. Been out a fair bit already the plan is to enjoy and not fiddle too much (if it aint broke....ahem). Llandow is booked in March, castle combe in April and will be probably visited quite a bit during the summer. Then run outs etc. I would like to thank Chris King, I joined the forum and he helped setting me up as it was not working for me signing in. He did not know me from Adam. I cheekily PM'd him and asked him for some advice. He could not be more helpful in what I should be looking for and gave me advice on quite a few cars in the end. Thanks for steering me in the right direction. anyway here she is Be prepared for some silly questions no doubt!! (after i ve searched of course "cough") Cheers Rory

  14. Yes, my thanks to Ade and Chris for all they do, including this. Moving to this wasn't free and the risk was extremely minimal, but the cost was worth it to keep members feeling safe and secure about their personal details. I'd like to add the club has never suffered a security breach with member info. Of course, I know where you all live, and I know what some of you did last summer, so there's always me to worry about instead...

  15. People who serve large slices of cake in cafe's always look both healthy and happy, so I think that will justify my continuance with my 'healthy balanced diet' as they say.
