  2. This is an ALL AREAs invite from Manchester to go on a roadtrip, meeting in Moffat, Dumfrieshire. Please spread the word and let us see if we can make this a successful adventure! Manchester Area - SATURDAY route will be up through the Western Dales and Lake District then around Galloway Forrest to Moffat. (route tbc) Then SUNDAY around Ettrick and back down through Kielder, Pennines and Eastern Dales. Knackered but happy after two long days Westieing. You are welcome to join up with our route or organise your own clans to make your own way there. I have provisionally booked 2 B&B's (5 mins walk, within few hundred meters of each other) accommodation 8 rooms (of singles/twins/double/triples) for 16 people (or 17 people including up to 5 couples). This works out at an average of £42 per person if rooms full. I will give Manchester Area first shout on rooms then on a first confirmation basis. Both have private Parking. Once (or if) these are filled then you'll need to book own B&B, of which currently there are still plenty with availability. On the Saturday evening I will book a table in Moffat for us all to eat together. Please post confirmed intentions to come along by end of JUNE and if you want to share a room with someone else who is coming. PLEASE let me know asap. As I have already been contacted about which bookings I want to keep (don't think they appreciate so many rooms being booked without names, by one person) ! I will then divvy up accommodation, confirm bookings, collect B&B payments via paypal gift, book table for meal and update this post with any further details. 3. Huh, maybe @IanK @Thrustyjust it's me that needs lessons in these emoticon jobby's, how could I forget Ian, naughty girl!! I will try again. Sorry, TJ, but the Zetec is at the front, the Honda's are faster for sure but they don't have directions for the big circular road to nowhere.

  4. Moved to external adverts - will check with t' committee about the 'ethics' edit: personally, I think it is useful for external ads to be posted if they are for something that might benefit the members. So, for example, you spot a bargain or an unusual Westy related item and wish to make others aware of it.

  11. Yep, Chris is as usual spot on - ads that would be of potential and car related interest to members but not posted by members should be placed in External Ads so as to separate it from genuine WSCC Member ads.

  12. I just followed the link Scott originally posted and looked at the register. There was a filter (by area) set on it, so only showed a handful of cars. I took the filter off and it went up to around 150.

  14. These speedos do tend to get wet, happens to many of us, try drying it out and see how it goes. If the odometer starts to show random pixels then it will fail completely in which case a new speedo is required. Should you need help or advice, the approved importers are ETB instruments at Southend-On-Sea and if you buy one from them, they load the odometer with your current mileage. I bought a used Speedo and had to inform DVLA of the mileage discrepancy.

  15. What Gary said. Its usually just down to moisture getting in. Try the drying out trick, it often works, though it's sometimes only temporary and eventually comes back, just keep repeating... If it doesn't work, then IIRC, ETB instruments used to do repair work on them, you could try them and see what they say.
