To answer the question Pro's - you can get a full size & reflective number plate that does not keep getting knocked off or blocks access to radiator is not a small number plate that is certainly not legal Cons - there is some debate as to their legality. I to have had one for some time without issue, my original lasted a couple of months before being head butted by a small creature. I replaced with a full sized printed plate made from reflective vinyl with correct lettering and spacing. I did cut it down a little at the ends to remove as much excess white as possible then carefully stuck it to the front as near and as vertical as practical. Apart from replacing the original in the original location, which I knew meant I'd need to buy in bulk, I decided that the full sized stick on was probably the best solution. I thought better to have a plate that was a legal as possible in a position that could be defended than to have a plate was definitely not legal. As for having no plate, we drive memorable cars, you only need to have cop see you a couple of times for the "it's just fallen off sir" excuse to fall flat.2 points

Not a daily Mail Reader or Trump Supporter, however I love history and one thing that has shown is where there is a dictator, or government that ignores the people you get a replacement person or regime that is an extreme opposite taking place. In Germany after World War one the people were crushed by the rest of the world, they felt they had no say in how their country ran as the outside world ran it. Eventually Hitler became a leader through a ballot box , not directly elected as some say and gave Germany back some sense of purpose and pride, which led to terrible things. So in the UK, US, France, Germany and other places ordinary people felt let down. The fear of terrorism perpetrated by a religious faction where innocent people were slaughtered and governments appear to rather be seen as supportive of those not their countrymen in some hope that it would go away. When all this is allowed people seek a different approach, someone willing to say what many think and Trump is it for the US. That is why UKIP did well and people voted to leave the EU, they felt control had been lost to others, for us Britain First and the BNP have failed to divide us further, but we do have a better press than the US where there is a degree of balance. In the same way Clinton called Trump supporters "deplorables" she was saying you are stupid racists to them and making it seem to them she was even less likely to help them at all. Trump won because he understood the public mood, he was not disconnected from those worse affected by the downturn in American wealth and dreams. The Washington elite lost that connection and now need to work at getting it back. I hope that all the doom mongers are wrong and he does start to reign his actions in and start to make a real difference there, but it to me seems wrong to now have Obama encouraging civil demonstrations against a democratically elected President, the weight of the media against him, hence him Tweeting, and Hollywood luvvies all getting on the band wagon against the choice of the people. These demonstrations have been huge in the large cities, but small in the areas that have been ravaged by the loss of jobs, those most affected by the decisions that were made elsewhere. We are all in for an interesting time that is for sure.2 points

Hi All, The page now has almost 300 followers which is fantastic. Thankyou! Remember, the intention is to raise the profile of Speed Series, the club and sprinting and hillclimbing in general. Lets also not forget the countless others who allow us to enjoy what we do. If we get one more marshall, helper, organiser it's a worth while exercise! Keep liking and inviting your motorsport friends, there may be a future champion lurking out there!! Rich2 points

Evening all, rejoined the WSCC this week after possibly the hardest 12 months of my life. Sold the old business, caught nasty Lung virus, cancer scare now industrial lung disease... Carlsberg don't do "rubbish years" but if they did.... I have picked up another old car having sold the mighty cross flow to Ibbo... Stu Hills Superb SEi (that is for sale) and a 1973 sporting trials car that once belonged to my Father. Also lining up a more "touring" focused cross flow for when my lungs totally give uo on me :-) Superb to see the forum looking so well and peoples passion for all things "7" to be going strong. Cheers James1 point

The rear pipe should be blanked. The top sender is ECU the other is temp gauge. Rad should have cut off sender or use ECU perhaps.1 point

@Mark Wendon (smokey mow) - WSCC Club Secretary @RussH Guidelines now recovered and restored, located as a click tab in the tab bar at the top of the forums. Thanks to Ade @ACW for retrieving the wording from the old forums.1 point

It's fine because apparently most people are driving on the far right nowadays1 point

Asked my friendly MOT and he told me the number plate needed to be in the most vertical forward facing visible place at the front of the car. Since there was no viable alternative he was happy with it being a sticker on the bonnet. I was not going to argue with that1 point

I tried both but struggled to get the stick on one to lay flat without creasing (there must be a knack) Just trimmed my standard sized plate to end 1/2inch before and after the letters - I'm lucky it's a Q reg and only six letters long - also hold it on below the grill with velcro so I remove it most of the time and keep it next to my seat for Mr Blobby (fell off guv.....)1 point

I did think that was over the top - I remember seeing something like that in Doctor Who (or was it Star Trek or Cbeebies ?) WSCC = Whitehouse Secret Command Centre ... (my phone has been ringing all day with "International" flagged calls - you don't think it's................)1 point

Yep put plate reg on retention before you sell the car which will then revert back to its original number. That way you can have a new log book and all paperwork done before sale of car. Sell the car and do whatever you wish with the plate.1 point

I think you may be giving Boris more credit than he is due. EU have been doing a pretty good job of discrediting themselves . .. largely since the introduction of the Euro.1 point

I suspect the removal of the acting Attorney General is only going to be the start - whatever he's doing, whatever motives the man has, whatever "empathy" one might have for what he's doing, he is without doubt exhibiting the signs of a dictator. You may call it ruthless and necessary but I now worry about what he said about ISIS - that he would remove them from the face of the earth......even worse now is he says he gave no warning of his order to restrict immigration - why would he give a warning about doing anything much, much, more serious I can only think of one way he could possibly remove ISIS from the face of the earth and that would be the end for all of us. We are in for a bumpy ride without a doubt1 point

I don't know about special offers, but the Playskool harnesses are very keenly priced, and the quality of the harnesses supplied is comparable to the next price band up, at least!1 point

Whoops, not sure what happened to this months calendar entry, it seems to have disappeared! I've just re-added it, for anyone confused, yes, there is a Meet this week, usual time and place, Thursday, 7.30 or so, at the Whipping Stocks, near Knutsford. See you there!1 point

It's a bit convoluted looking where it attaches to the ITBs throttle leaver, but yes, looks like it might just need a nipple to secure it. FWIW, a lot of Jenvey installations don't use the Jenvey throttle linkage, IIRC Westfield used to supply various mounting brackets for the cable, to mount it without the official linkage. Do consider the pukka Jenvey linkage in the future though, when funds have recovered! I know it's dear, but it's very effective and lets you fine tune the pedal travel and pedal action to give a really nice throttle pedal response to match your own tastes. (Some like a long, progressive action with plenty of travel, some a shorter, snappier action).1 point

I was in an office today and there was three loud mouthed girls who were encouraging others to post on Facebook etc about this. I playfully asked them to explain why? Not a clue they could articulate other than all their mates were doing it. When I told one who has a holiday booked in Florida that US immigration were not issuing visas to those who have voted to ban Trump on this petition as they had access to it,, she went white? She was then asking everyone how she could get her name off the list as she really wants to go and only did it as she felt she had to.. She is probably still wondering.1 point

Only experience of the ZZS is from speaking with Stephen Everall - they looked barely worn at the end of the season, I'm sure he or Terry could advise better on those but after seeing them & speaking to Stephen I'd avoid them.1 point
