  1. Sorry, I can't help with any of the above, but I wonder whether one "service" you could advertise as offering on/from the stand is (for those who have their cars at the show) a high level assessment of the changes they would need to make to their cars in order to make them compliant for the speed series. I have no current intention of doing any racing, but I do from time to time wonder what changes I would need to make and never get much further than realising that it's a bit complex for a novice to get to grips with. I suspect that a lack of clarity on these things would put some people off (especially if there are fewer changes than they expect). Just a thought!

  2. We are planning to use a TV in the marquee at Stoneleigh this year to display videos and pictures of Westfields. 10-3-17. I haven't received many videos or pictures, so the only option may be the silverstone parade lap on continuous loop. ... not my preferred viewing for 2 days. Although the silverstone lap may increase the beer consumption Sunday evening there are other options. Please have a look on your computers for pictures/videos, contact me and we can include them in the marquee TV display. It's not a difficult process to transfer them What images? Track days, out and about in your Westfield, anything you have that's interesting If you have any videos or pictures you would like to be included, either:- - contact trevturtle by PM and you will be sent a drop box link to load your files - send me the youtube link Thanks The Stoneleigh team

  5. Lady Chair asked me early on why Americans voted for Ronald Reagan as President. (Bear in mind that he had also previously been governor of California, so he had one up on Trump with having political experience.) I explained to her that the office of the president depends on the person elected to be president. If you elect someone competent, they do the work, and if you elect an idiot, they have the ideas and make others do the work. It's a bit like going to McDonalds - just because the place belongs to a clown, that doesn't mean he's in the kitchen flipping the burgers.

  6. The issue raised is to do with "packet sniffing" - so someone intercepting the network traffic when they are on the same network as you (like McDonalds/Airport/Office/Hotel wifi). Your details are secure unless someone hacks your account - and while it is technically possible for someone to intercept your email and password using a packet sniffer like WireShark, it is pretty unlikely. The issue was raised on PH a year ago and there's no news of mass attacks on there as far as I can see? User passwords are stored in an encrypted format, so even I can't see them. Personally - I don't use the same password for my bank etc as I do on forums or other public access sites and I change them every now and then despite the pain of remembering them all. However, I'll talk to the Committee about implementing SSL on the server as our Member's data integrity is obviously very important.

  7. Meet at McDonalds, Ollerton, 9.30am before taking the short journey to Great British Sportscars, Ollerton for 10am and their Cars and Coffee event. Meet us there if you prefer. Tour the factory, visit the Kit Spares shop, meet lots of kit car fans and their cars as you enjoy the free refreshments.

  8. I didn't watch the TV awards show last night, but I saw a quick run down of who won what this morning. I can honestly say I don't watch any of the winning programmes they mentioned. Ant and bl**** Dec! .. I don't think I've ever watched anything they've done! Does anyone else share my views, or I am just yer average grumpy old 60+ having a rant.

  9. Possibly a little specialsed compared to the regular parts for sale, I admit. But vital for those seeking to remap their ecu's, to get the most out of tuned engines especially the turbo and supercharged guys. An air fuel ratio meter will tell you how rich or lean your adjustments are making the engine run, BUT, in an noisy environment whether it's stationary on a dyno, or on the road doing your mapping, it's very hard to hear detonation and knock, until it's too late, making it tricky to fiddle with the ignition timing, by anything other than small amounts. Thats where this kit comes in, f on one of the UK's leading specialists in such tools, this version allows you to actively "plug into" and listen for knock, live as you run an engine and adjust the ignition timing and fuel settings. The boxed kit, consists of: The KS Pro high quality amplifier Shielded interconnect cable for Knock sensor Bosch Knock sensor - bolts to convenient spot on engine block High quality, closed back Sennheiser headphones. The web site of Phormula is here, with more details. The kit has had very little use, the headphones show absolutely no signs of wear and the amplifier unit, (with orange rubber bumper in the shots above, is immaculate. As you can see from the link above, these retail at £270 ex vat, £334 roughly with vat and carriage! Even on eBay, on the rare occasions these come up, they go for £190 +, typically. Yours for £170 - protect your engine investment!

  14. I have been quiet for a few years (that was probably a good thing for most of the forum ). My car had an intermittent electrical issue that was very difficult to diagnose and prevented me from using it very much during that time. After replacing several items, and inventing a number of new ways to curse, I determined it had to be something in the ECU loom which was cobbled together a number of years ago. A new one from Emerald appears to have sorted the issue, so I can now focus on other upgrades and actually driving the car. -John

  20. Hi Josh and welcome. A very popular meeting is the Oulton Park Gold Cup, historic and classic meeting with lots of track action. The Wirral and North Wales area have a pitch there every year and entry is free for Westie and driver. This year it's the 26/28th August, the bank holiday weekend so if you fancy a trip up north let me know and we will sort a ticket out for you. John.
