Is this metal polish for people who are obsessed with cleaning there tail pipe?2 points

By the way - if anyone is concerned that the member map location is a little TOO accurate and you don't want your actual property location to be shown, you can simply go in and use the "My Location" -> "Update Location" option to enter a broader location, like the town you live in for example.2 points

I was so looking forward to today and meeting lots of new people, and the day did not disappoint. It started off with Big Andy and Debbie calling for us at our house, and they came with Trevor from Worksop in his Tiger. 3 cars went to Buxton and Martyn and Sue, car 4, soon arrived. IanK gave me a quick call to say the main group were having sat nav problems and they were on their way. It's OK we were only getting a bit wet in the drizzly but persistent rain. They all soon arrived, shame it was at the same time as a group of ramblers. Right, time to find the second Trevor, the organiser, and change everything. The route was altered to go through Chatsworth the opposite way and the lunch stop was changed. 'You had better lead then Julie' Trevor said, as he handed me a walkie talkie headset. It was great, I could talk to Trevor near the back of the group as we went along, so we all stayed together and nobody got lost. Lunch was at the Travellers Rest, Bradwell In total there were 12 kit cars, a Porsche, a MX5 and a VX220. Thats a lot of new people, which meant a lot of talking, making it later than expected, so the group split up from here at 3pm. It did finally stop raining, when we were about 20 minutes from home, and it was colder than yesterday, so under the circumstances that's not a bad turn out for January. It must be something in the water in the North West because the Wirral/North Wales group had 9 Westfield's out today too, that is just brilliant, don't you think? Thanks to everyone for coming today, extra to Martyn and Sue, Big Andy and Debbie, there was IanK, Rickyboy100 and Phil, (who goes as Lollydox?0 from our club.1 point

Q Ok when you split the engine and gear box you will now be able to just slide the bearing off the input shaft, you shouldn't actually be able to do this. Take the bearing off and look at the sides of the holder, you'll see a recess either side now look at the clutch fork and you'll see the two mounting lugs ( for want of a better description ) on either side of the fork Now the fiddly bit getting the bearing to clip to the fork, IIRC it can only go on one way ( i.e. if it doesn't clip on try turning 180 deg and try again ) it might well take a few attempts but it will locate, once on properly you should be able to push n pull the bearing and fork up & down the input shaft without it coming off M1 point

Ahhhhhhhhhhhhh (repeat a few more times for effect) ! They currently aren't clipped together! I had no idea they had to be Yes, that will definitely go towards clearance once they are So glad I asked!1 point

The bearing ( in its holder ) and fork should be clipped together Q ? when you push the fork away from the clutch it takes the bearing with it. If the bearing is not correctly located on the fork that could also explain where a few mm of clearance has gone ?1 point

Ring of Brodgar, Maes Howe, Stones of Stenness and The Ness of Brodgar are all in the same area. Well worth a visit - it's on the telly at the moment Monday bbc2 9pm. If you are in Kirkwall you must visit Trevor Steadman at Steadspeed restorations. He is a restorer of ford capris and other old ford stuff. I'm sure he'd be glad to see some fellow petrol heads for a chat and a cuppa! The Orkney brewery is also worth a visit when you are out to Skara Brae as it's nearby. If you have the missus with you take her to Sheila Fleet I'm sure she'll appreciate it!1 point

Much better ferry the pentalina. It's run by a guy who's battled against the subsidised ferry to offer a better service to Orkney, so will always be my choice of getting to the islands.1 point

@John Williams - WSCC Competition Secretary I've added in the Area Meeting locations - if you create a Google map with the markers for SS Circuits/Events, then export as a "kml" file, I can then import it into the system.1 point
-
Spot on @Dave Eastwood (Gadgetman) - WSCC AO Rep I've moved the marker, exported the data and imported into the main Member Map as a new layer.1 point

Have sent you an email invite via the Google maps app @Chris King - Webmaster and Joint North East AO, you should be able to edit it too, now.1 point

Part P of the building regulations was revised in 2013, the effect of this was to remove kitchens and certain zones within the bathroom from the list of works that is notifiable. In your case this means that you can do any works you like in the kitchen and it is non notifiable under the requirement of Part-P providing you do not so any works that return to the consumer unit such as adding a new circuit or replacing the C/u. You are ok to extend an existing ring or lighting circuit or create a new spur from an existing ring. Finally I should stress that whilst the above does not require you to be qualified to do the works you should still be competent to do the work and install in accordance with BS7671. As a diy'er you can still do notifiable works but you would first need to make an application to building control to do it. They would then inspect and test the installation for you at first and 2nd fix stages and certify the work on you behalf.1 point

Why are you doing the scrabster ferry? The Gills bay to St Margaret's hope is a modern catamaran and is a very fast crossing. Also it is excellent value. They have a hydraulic ramp so fine for low cars with poor ground clearance like westies.1 point

The info on the main website's "area map" is well out of date. As Chris says it's the 2nd Tuesday of the month at the Church Mouse near Chester le Street. We usually get there around 7.30 and leave around 10.00 Bit of a hike from Cumbria I'm afraid!1 point

9 degrees C, the weather forecast is almost double digits. A few questions to ponder:- side screens or wind deflectors? Also might be slippy so need to enable traction control. Anybody know how to do that? Apparently it's something connected to my right foot. And who does the best bacon butties? Ponderosa, Vyrnwy, Bala or Brenyg? Or the cafe at the Llandegla fishing place. (no pun). Or maybe the Dragon's Rest? Or Emily's tea room? By the time we get to the Tudor Rose Jeff will have all this figured out. So we'll just follow him. Nice one Jeff.1 point
