As you're MOD give this some thought.
We have a lot of Reservists in the office. It's a good deal from the sounds of it.
Most work Tuesday to Thursday (they are not obliged to turn up either). Work 0900-1600, go to the gym for an hour over lunch + take time to have their lunch, have no division or duties to worry about, can do adventureous training and get paid for it all too. I believe they still get all the medical and dental cover. Age is capped by specialisation but we have guys in their 60's. They also get a annual bonus, some branches get a golden hand shake too. Stress???... not that I know of!
I worked out that if I could retire now, based on my current salary (however, 6years left in) and if I did tue/thur in working weeks of the year only, so 7weeks of leave. My pension plus my reservist salary (a daily rate of which is 1/365th of your current salary on exit) would only be £4K less a year than what I am currently earning with all the added benefits mentioned above!
