Have you put your new calendar on display today? Isn't it brill? Mine is in the kitchen next to my new glass chopping board of my Westfield. Firstly Wendy has managed to photograph Westfield's finest on the front cover (Stu's car). Turn over to January and ABC is in action on the big page, followed by Andrew Lowe's car in Snowdownia, that car is up for sale btw. Our next generation of Westfield owners, Andrew Wilson has captured a lovely shot of the pre-lit and of Robin Red Spider's car heading the parade lap at Silverstone, finished off by the 4th Andrew and a great track action shot. Wow, it's only January. I couldn't have chosen better, well done WSCC.

What... Your selling some carbon... , new year's resolution to reduce your carbon footprint?

Continued good progress and now (at last) space on the wall for my 2017 WSCC calendar. Up above is a clock which chimes a recording of the appropriate birdsong on the hour. Frightens me to death on many occasions!! 5 January highlighted as that marks the one year anniversary of our move to Norfolk and the intention is to get enough space by then to accommodate the Westy. It will be the first time that it will have a proper, permanent undercover 'home' in the 9 years I have owned it! Then time to undertake 20ish items on my to do list!!

Hmm, never even really thought about it. but just ordering a present for someone through Amazon.co.uk and, presumably because I signed up for the months trial of Prime, I got both a free Sunday Delivery and a fiver off a fifteen pound item. The penny is slowly dropping that if I shop via Amazon for a year, where I might otherwise use eBay, most if not all the GT subscription could be saved back on discounts and delivery. Amazon's happy, I'm happy and the three old gits are happy. Win, win, win!

Agreed. my car has Jenveys and only one externally visible spring but also ones on the spindles internally. If the throttle linkage is disconnected, the throttle body butterflies still snap shut

If that is the same as the jenvey set up they have springs as on each spindle and a spring on the linkage too, so yes that would be fine.

Plenty experience of full time retirement (highly recommended!), but no experience of working for myself, know others who have done so though. Have you considered approaching EDF wrt the new build nuclear power station at Hinkley Point C. There will be a massive amount of "invisible" work to be done on nuclear safety cases. With your MOD skill set including nuclear safety assurance it may be the sort of work you could easily do remotely (from home!) and therefore avoid getting dragged back into the drudgery of workplace politics. I'm guessing that a lot of this type of work will be outsourced, rather than done inhouse in this day and age. Just a thought. Adge

+1 for Prime here too. We've had it a couple of years now, and order quite a bit on-line (yes I know the local high street shops are struggling along with the Polar Bears but hey-ho) and as Dave has found out, if you're anything more than a casual user, the £70-odd quid is paid for easily over the course of the year. The wife recently discovered Amazons music streaming and playlist capabilities. With her smart phone linking to a bluetooth system she enjoys fantastic music streamed around our house. And then there's the Prime movies and box-sets...... The Grand Tour is simply a nice bonus. Each to their own.

The downside of course, is that you have to sit through 'The Grand Tour'.
