I haven't been there myself, but I seem to remember reading recently that the moon is a good place to visit by all accounts3 points

In comparison I have only been to the foot of our stairs. Do I get a prize for coming last, maybe the 'Need to get out more' Trophy.3 points

Well done Rich. The most 'likes' on the forum since 23rd Nov! And something that I'm sure will help promote SS. One of the 'Myth' perceptions by the general membership I've had contact with is that you require exotica to compete. So this is something that imo needs tackling in encouraging newbies to start out in sprinting. A myth clearly not true as I feel I've done OK in a heavy Windscreened under-powered full on road-going Westfield that travels over 3000 miles a year. I'll post the 'Lardy One' to the page.2 points

It looses the appeal when you cycle up it with 80 miles already completed that day!2 points

Did you ask Thrusty for the use of the trademarked "invisi" prefix. I had to pay royalties to be allowed to use "invisi-column"2 points

Happy to help. I can't make it to this one this one as I'm racing at Donington the next day, TBH I didn't know you guys were looking at it until Chris mentioned it .2 points

Whilst I agree with Scott about mobility scooters and bicycles, it is this sort of potential action that made me want to leave the EU. It wasn't anything to do with foreigners in Britain, or whether I could live in Europe or not, but to do with the threat of Draconian laws being foisted upon us by people we cannot vote out. Okay, I may be thick and bigoted according to the irritable people whom the media keep trotting out, so I'll ask my son not to bring his Chinese girlfriend over from Australia and send back my Mensa membership card!2 points

Good morning Guys and Gals, There has been much talk over the past two or three years in relation to the number of people competing in Motorsport, and that includes our prestigious Speed Series Championship. There are many reasons for this including financial crashes, MSA rule changes and dare I say it our own successes. We now have a record number of events to choose from, and clearly we cannot attend them all! My intention in helping run the Speed Series Facebook page is to capture the moment of SS, add the fun factor back in and generally promote what we do and why we love it. The more people that can see this the better chance we have of promoting new competitors, spectators and who knows maybe even future Champions! So who am I? For those who don't know, I'm Richard Kerr (Scottish Bloke) and have been around the club and Westfield's for around 15 years. My passion for the sunburst started a little before this and due to a change in circumstances I was able to buy my first Westfield in 2003. Having joined our local club and meeting Nick (Algar) the rest is history. I started competing in the Speed Series the following year in a very tidy red narrow body car. Within several events I managed to win the class I was in and graduated to a more powerful car, very long and expensive story short, the Speed Series Bug had bitten. (I blame Nick) I have been lucky enough to compete at a reasonable level every year since and still regard my Championship win in 2009 as one of my finest life achievements and something I'm incredibly proud of. Speed Series has been a huge part of my life and is somewhere I have met the majority of the people I call my closest friends. I personally feel that promotion via Facebook will help greatly in promoting our series to a much wider audience. It'll be a place where you can post pics and videos from events 'as they happen' straight from your phone. Whilst we can do some of these things on the boardroom, we are only alerting SS competitors or boardroom members and the 'instant hit' capturing the moment isn't possible. The SS FB page will be monitored and administrated by myself and other boardroom officials, who are all very keen to keep the page SS focused and in no way should detract from boardroom activity. Posts that are not relevant will be removed. Boardroom will remain the place for rules, MSA changes, Results, Tel's Tales, target times or raise Technical Queries, this must be done through the correct channels on the boardroom as is done currently. Over the next few days you may receive an invite from me to join the page, or by all means add yourself. Please remember, this is a Speed Series page, photos of your Christmas dinner, your dog stuck in the chimney after chasing Santa, or granny's teeth in the custard jug may be tolerated but Speed Series Chat fun and banter in the main please. Please drop me a PM with any ideas you have to include on the page, I'll probably start things off with a Driver/car bio and take things from there building the page and the audience. Funny all the comments on the Grand Canyon, I did the helicopter trip and thought it was quite disappointing. Although, obviously the helicopter itself was awesome.Ditto NYC, been twice and don;t really rate it, wouldn't go back. Agree on Thailand, Koh Samui was awesome, San Diego and Southern California was great, Cairns and the great barrier reef was a surprise hit for us as well. Disagree on Bedford and Cadwell, always tend to turn out to be very expensive trips...!1 point

I first went there in 1974 - not at the lowest crime rate era! It was as if they had erected a film set just for my visit: Radio City, Chrysler Building (one of my favourites in the world), Empire State, and many other sights. Foolishly, I wandered off from my hotel on The Avenue of the Americas (6th) just along from Central Park at 10.30 at night to find a drug store for a shaver adaptor. I didn't get mugged, but not because I was street wise, but because of sheer luck I suppose. It's like being thoroughly vomiting drunk. you kneel on the bathroom floor and between retches, you tell your God that if only you survive you won't touch another drop. In Manhattan, especially during a 1979 visit when I thought we'd been car jacked on the way from JFK in our hire car (paranoia), I uttered a silent prayer to say that if I survived this visit I wouldn't set foot back there again. But, like the booze, it is simultaneously revolting/terrifying and irresistibly exciting and just as I have been in the room-spinning state many times, so have I been back to New York time and time again! It is one of the very few world major metropolises that I visited on business that has a soul. Off the top of my head there's also London (of course), Paris (in the seventies and eighties), Amsterdam, Jerusalem... I enjoyed several visits to Tokyo and loved a lot of it after I got over the disappointment with its apparent Westernised style, but once you scrape below the veneer, its Oriental spirit shows. Fascinating, certainly, but not exciting. Neither are Taipei, Brussels, Hamburg, Essen, etc. Milan does have a soul but mysteriously it seems to be centred on la Scala. Okay, I love Italian opera... Best place? very hard to choose but when I need to relax I travel in my mind to Slattadale on the shores of Loch Maree in Ross and Cromarty, or to the mountain along the road that my family and I climbed in 1988: Slioch. So near home in distance, but another planet in all other ways. So much world, so little time...1 point

If I were a King I would ensure that all of my subjects were taught English, their grammar, spelling and usage would be of a the highest order . exempli gratia: To is not the same word as too; Knife is singular, Knives are plural; When U follows Q it is to form a sound; Less bouncy = firmer, "powerful-er" ( shame on you), Less powerful = weaker, why use two words when one will suffice? However, I know that "DamperMan" was just merely having a laugh, you were weren't you ?1 point
