  1. Hi all, Just wanted to say hi. I recently bought my first westfield. It's a 2007 megabusa. I'm a amateur photographer (Jay-Sec Media) and I run car club (Aberdeen Drivers Club). You can follow us on Favebook. I will be posting pictures and videos frequently Plans here is few samples:

  2. I personally would 'fire' Hamilton for what he has done this season.

  3. Not fit for purpose? Reject the car? All a bit extreme isn't it...?

  4. As pointed out - you can set this link up as a custom link, so it can act as before if you want. I'll put together a "how to" as soon as I get a chance

  9. Does anyone seriously think that if we were privileged enough to see the lot of them racing the same car that Rosberg would be anywhere near? He is a fine driver but a meat and potato racer. i would only put him ahead of hulkenberg on that list. And of the 2 merc drivers Lewis is the more talented and braver driver. well done to him all the same

  10. I'm going to buck the trend and say no I don't think he's a worthy champion. He's been 'good enough' in an extremely reliable car. I'm not a massive Hamilton fan as I find him a bit of a nob (but is very talented) yet even I can see that his reliability problems have cost him a minimum of 40 points this season. Rosberg has had very little if any points loss and got away with a lot. That's a big difference and if all had been equal Hamilton would have won it by 50 points. I know this is motorsport and reliability is part of racing. Mercedes themselves have even said the failures were not driving style related. Also has taken hamilton's garage crew preparing rosbergs car to get him over the line. I can't help but feel that this will be remembered as the championship that Hamilton lost rather than the one rosberg won. As stated I just really hope redbull/ferrari/mclaren get close next year to liven things up as I think redbull have a really good driver line up with 2 very talented and humble characters.

  11. If your displayed forum name has changed at any point in the past then you need to log in with your displayed name, rather than the old name. Our Chairman (Hi Scott!) changed mine from Wellyjen to Welly Jen during a Stuff and Nonsense discussion on why so many of us contract two words in to one as our forum name. I still logged in as Wellyjen up till the forum upgrade, but found I now need to log in as Welly Jen. Caused me a little head scratching! Not a bug, but might help someone else having problems logging in. Well done on the forum upgrade. Still exploring the features, but it looms very snazzy. Jen

  12. Yep, he won it fair and square, and Hamilton has only himself to blame. He only lost it by 5 points and has been said, Lewis screwed up a number of his starts. Even with the breakdowns, he could have walked it if he focused harder. I also think his social life distracted him too much - maybe he read his own press too often. Although I don't like Rosberg, he wasn't gifted the title - hard to decide if he earned it more than Hamilton threw it away. Lewis made a huge mistake after the won the race that secured the title last year when he threw the 2nd place hat to / at Rosberg. You could see it in Rosberg's eyes and on his face - I'll have you for that, and he has. I'm in the camp that doesn't think Lewis did anything wrong slowing down and bunching up Rosberg and the others towards the end. He was doing whatever he could to try and win the championship, as would any of us if we're being honest. Wolfe and Lauda were monumentally naive to think Lewis wouldn't do it (hell, even I'd thought of it pre-race, and I'm a muppet), and unbelievably stupid thinking they could succeed in getting him to speed up. M-B already had the constructor's title and the driver's title one way or the other, so what was the point? They're racers, let them race.

  15. Hi all Apologies for the slow service tonight. Adrian has been working on it and found a number of Russian IP addresses trying to hack the forums, which he's stopped without them causing us damage. My thanks to Ade for his assistance, it should be back to normal soon. It's all because Putin was turned down for membership and is throwing his toys out the pramski.

  20. Andy needed his carbs balancing. Trevor had balanced 3 on a previous meeting but the screw was jammed on the fourth. Andy has since freed it and Trevor balanced all four. Martyn was delighted to see that Andy had the same Dellorto carbs as he has and he joined in, trying to fathom out if they were 40's or 45's. While this was happening on the front end Andy had the rear end jacked up in order to remove his new wheel spacers. They were too wide and were causing the tyres to rub on the wing. Dave added his really technical touch by chocking up the front wheels with a large stick, Glen was getting high sniffing the petrolly air filters and I was guarding the warm air that was rising off the engine. Imagine my delight when they fired it up to set the idle speed. Having built up an appetite we went into the cafe for lunch, cake, scones, lemon meringue pie, heck we were hungry. Soon it was time to go to the bank. Slowly and respectfully we drove through the cute little village over the road, before launching ourselves up another new road, Thorncliffe Bank. A nice steep, slightly twisty road that leads up to the Mermaid Inn and empty moorland roads. Dave turned off for home here while we wiggled through a lovely winter sun soaked Peak District for a final cuppa at Newton House, Ashbourne. I am not sure if it is all the fresh air but the conversation can get very bizarre at this time of day, it's a good job we are not drinking alcohol or God only knows what subjects we would cover. Well done to Dave for making it out, of the car that is. It's the Santa Run next weekend, so hopefully AndyR and Bioman will join us. Everyone is welcome, although it might be a drop in at the deep end if anyone new joins us. I might be busy until then

  21. Everyone seemed to arrive early at The Wheatsheaf and I see no-one saved me a parking space. Trevor, Dave, Martyn and Sue, and Andy and Debbie your names are on ze list A nice surprise visit from Alan completed the gang We set off to Tittersworth on a new road that by-passed Bakewell and it's busy Christmas market. The road to Sheldon, it was empty, up and up and on and on, brill I don't think I will ever go through Bakewell again. Over the tops we went, under Ramshaw Rocks and into the car park, almost on the 'sea' front. We had arrived early as planned so we could huddle around Andy's warm engine, oops, no, I mean so we could fix Andy's car......

  23. I'm doing this one by typing the text, then clicking on "choose files..." - after I've chosen the photo I want, I left-click and hold on the image and then drag it into the text box, and it drops in automatically: and I can keep on typing afterwards.

  24. Oh crumbs, hope you go on OK Dave, although it makes hilarious reading. I have heard that the cake at Tittersworth is a good remedy for pain. Hoping Garyt makes it out too today, he has 4 degress in Scotland to our 7 degrees, if you can believe the forecast. Hoping Lewis Hamilton cracks it off today and that we all survive 2 days on facebook instead of on here. Facebook, destroyer of club forums, boo hoo.
