  3. Dave, we will be leaving the Wheatsheaf at 10.30 am. It is 47 minutes drive to The Flouch and we will call in at Langsett Barn for a wee on the way, so that should get us there nicely for 11.30 am. No ruddy comments about can't we make it to the Oil Can Cafe for the toilet, quite simply NO we can't and I have no medical explanation why not - the cold? the bladder bouncing in the car? God only knows.

  5. What time are you leaving the Wheatsheaf in the morning? (Just wondering whether to get breakfast there, first).

  6. I know what you mean, but personally, it's WHY I'm still driving a Westfield, life's so short and could be gone in a blink. To live afraid of death isn't living at all, and you'll die a thousand mini deaths everyday whilst living in fear.

  9. Could be in either brushes with fame or death... Late 80's / early 90's i was almost run over by a slantnose 911... Turned to give the driver some grief ... then very quickly realised it was Nigel Benn the middleweight champion driving the porker Turn my " oi you f*****g idiot in "hello mate" thus avoiding a very painfull near death experience...

  10. Crashed a microlight. Really did think my number was up. As a kid I overturned a canoe and couldn't right it, nearly drowned. Apart from that, quite a few while riding bikes for 35 years! (Example: fell off in motorway traffic. Felt my head move 4 or 5 times and realised it was the wheels of an artic rolling past and nudging my helmet as it rolled by) Nine lives went years ago...

  11. Did a spot on Countryfile a few years ago with Julia Bradbury in the Hebrides. Absolutely charming, down to earth, very smart and quite a petrol head. I nearly lost it on ice driving her down the hill in a knackered Punto to go and launch a weather balloon.

  12. Hi Everyone, Don't add or make any commitments in your diaries for next year until you've added the Silverstone Classic. It has to be a must attend venue, for all the whole Westy community, in all guises, road based, track based, come and show us what you have. It's the chance to prove we are: (1) The the friendliest club on the planet. (2) Dedicated enthusiast's (3) Given the opportunity to take part in Westfield based Motor sport (4) Offered a chance to drive the premier F1 circuit Silverstone in your pride & joy. I took my wife out to Silverstone in my Westy for the first time, and she's already asking if we can go again next year. On the strength of that week-end we have bought a new car, we have bought Tightscot's (Gordon Downies Seiw Zetec) I will miss my Mighty Crossflow SE but I have a knee injury so I needed more leg room. so reluctantly I have it up for sale. I looking forward to seeing increased numbers next year I believe it's an opportunity to publicly thank our committee and AO's Due to work commitments, I am not able to attend as many club evenings I would like with Gary and the boys & girls at Nott's & Derby This for me represents another chance to meet other owners, as an addition to Stoneleigh. (Scott just be careful, as she who must be obeyed will be present)

  13. Definitely a weird year. Brexit, the buffoon being given the nuke codes and weirdest of all at the start of the year I had savings. Now I'm skint and just got a pile of car parts to show for it....
