The Porsche does look better in the flesh but it does have big gaps in the body. I like the Catreham though as its 'real' Lego. Just bricks mainly so it looks like a Lego Caterham, excactly what it says on the tin. Too right. teaser alert..... You KNOW you want one.3 points

We met at The Wheatsheaf, where we met Andy's new car and the other Andy's new car. I have come to terms with Ian losing his pink nose and I now officially like the white one. We soon set off in the sunshine up to Edale, a village at the start of the Pennine Way that sits below Kinder Scout, the highest point in the Peak District. We managed to get prime parking position in front of The Rambler Inn, where we had lunch. The entire staff left the pub and came out to look at our cars, burglars take note! The pub also sits beneath The Mam Tor Ridge, seen in the background here Then we had a steering wheel moment as Ian gave us a tour of his adaptions But nobody can beat Thundernuts for a glamorous interior Do you wonder what else we get up to here in the Peak District? Well Big Andy was looking for Glen's steak sandwich. What was the problem, Glen like's ham. Pigs, cows, it's all meat in my book Then we took a circular route back to Chatsworth.....2 points

I placed a remote mic just behind the throttle bodies. It certainly catches the induction noise. Unfortunately I was not able to use it all of the day due to water ingress. It was a great day even though my clutch cable snapped in the last half hour. But a big thank you to Mr Steve Lee who took the cable off of his car to lend to me so I could drive home. Superb. Love the sound track too. Considering you drove the car to the circuit, you were going well there. I think I was consciously trying to keep it at about 90% in the wet knowing (or hoping at the time..) we were going to see some dry track. Would have hated to bin it in the first session then watch everyone playing in the sunshine. I still managed to go straight on at the first corner though, and utilised that bit of green escape road. Have you seen Greig's 620R having a lucky escape?2 points

Some vid eee o's. First one, chasing Mike in the blue VX car, up until he decided to try the reverse circuit. Second one, a bit of fun with a big Nissan and even more fun keeping a 620R in my sights. (with a bit of gentlemanly behavior at the chicane with Terry.. after you.. no.. after you.. ) And the third one at the end of the day, turned the camera round, unfortunately it didn't make it to the end of the session.. a few high speed parade laps? ;-)2 points

I'm thinking of parting with my Megapin MK3 600cc race sprint and hillclimb car. It was built in 1993 by Ian Scott of Megapin Racing Cars as a hillclimb sprint car and is running a Yamaha R6 bike engine with the 6 speed gearbox. 340kgs and 105BHP = 314BHP per TON. Slicks on alloy wheels and a set of wets on steel wheels. Protec shocks new 2 years ago. Exhaust in stainless new 2 years ago. Quick release steering wheel. New FIA harness fitted last year. Last year it had a refresh with new front wing, rear wing, side pods, nose cone, engine cover and lost 30kgs in the process. Megapins are based on the old Mini's so drive shafts, diff, brakes and hubs are easy to obtain parts for and R6 engines are common and quite cheap too. It's a great way to get into a single seater and I've had a great time . I may consider a px for something interesting like an AC Cobra kit car project, Maybe a Land Rover or Range Rover or even a RIB boat [not sure where I'm going after this much fun]. Please no time wasters or dreamers. Its a race car and not road legal, no heater, air con or roof and no driver aids at all. It's a complete assault on your senses and a crazy ride. If that's not for you buy a Toyota Prius and move on!!!!! Thats just the picture I have been looking for. The pressure relief valve sticks when I start from cold giving me over 6Bar of pressure until it unsticks after about 30 seconds. It lives in the allen head bolt on the side of the pump just after the strainer. I knew it was there its just that I have never seen a picture. A job for winter..1 point

I like the Porsche be interested to see it in the flesh; in the photos I've seen it looks fantastic, till the body goes on. At which point it seems to be neither one thing nor the other. It's not the traditional "all regular bricks, no special parts" type model, which you can forgive for being more of a suggestion of the original, than a faithful copy, it seems to have too many specialist bits for that. Yet if they were going to go to the trouble of making specialist bits, I wish they'd just dcided to do it properly and make more realistic, all be it Lego versions of the panels. As it is, the body seems neither one thing nor another. I guess if I didn't know the price, I'd probably not be irked by it. Still a great kit though. Funnily enough, I like the way they've done the Caterham way more, because of how nicely they've done the bodywork.1 point
