  2. It was a cracking good day and a real pleasure meeting you all and obviously being ever so slightly faster than the Westfield Warriors. I guess a return race is on at some point in the future!

  4. Feel like I am clogging the system up with "which is best" questions! While the Westy is still off the road, I'm going to get my column out and off to Luke this week to weld up a Rapfix QR boss. That means I also need a new steering wheel. Recommendations for wheels that fit this system would be appreciated, circa 280mm diameter. What might need to be considered is that I want to fit buttons for indicators and main beam/flash, using Mike's wonderful freewheel technology.

  6. Hi Brian, welcome to the Clan McWesty! Drop me a PM with your email address and mobile number so I can add you to the mailing list. Most of us are winding down at this time of year but with a decent Autumn, we may get out now and then!

  8. I saw a Westfield and Lotus Eleven side by side on Saturday, and there didn't seem to be many differences. As far as I know Jay Kay wasn't there, but Mary Berry was a star guest! It was a great weekend despite the weather on Saturday. And I was amazed and delighted that my car was voted as "Car I would most like to go home in". I got a splendid trophy and an unexpected drive up the hill. https://1drv.ms/i/s!AkCLJdXtfgv4gYxQqJYDbhbBtZaO3A Geoff

  14. I've got the OMP one and I'm a fan of Freewheel http://forum.wscc.co.uk/forum/index.php/topic/111249-ian-ks-s2000-build-thread/?p=1260391 Wheel was this one, from here: http://www.jjcraceandrally.com/race/steering-wheels/omp-kubic-steering-wheel-310-265mm-flat-black-suede This did need the 6 hole to 3 hole adapter. I've since been told if I had looked harder, I'd have found a wheel with 3 holes

  16. Luke is Playskool, as advertised on here. Great products. Probably too busy, so you have to persevere when trying to get hold of him. Very helpful and always gets there in the end. Although I have moaned on occasions about communication, I would have no hesitation in recommending hi services!

  18. Kevin I have just had my car in to Luke's workshop for a full set up - I also got him to fit a Rapifix Quick Release Boss and a Momo 27 (290mm) steering wheel. I am extremely pleased with the steering wheel - and I have a much better view of the instruments and more room for my legs. I asked Luke to size the steering column so that it was exactly the same distance from the dashboard as the old Westfield wheel one and he did exactly that.

  20. I reckon you would pushed us up the standings a bit more if you like it wet. It's damm scary driving with a misted up visor in the dark and rain. Pistol Pete and Mike loved it though. All good fun in the end.

  22. From my experience as an ex B&Q manager (this was autocentres) their customer service was pretty good. In this case the staff and manager have got it wrong. Up to 30 days you can demand a replacement if it is faulty, however there is a clause which is used to say if there is any doubt as to the validity of the claim, ie abuse, then the customer can be made to wait until a suitably qualified person has inspected it. Not normal on a day old unit, but trust me I have seen goods that were abused badly and customers who tried to bully young staff members into refunds when they had finished the job they bought it for. A missing fuse means some one has had it away as they all come fully fused, but regardless you had a right to refund so long as you met every criteria, ie not dropped in packaging etc. After 30 day there is no right to demand a replacement as the supplier has to be given the opportunity to repair or replace. This always was the big issue as people want it replacing immediately especially if it was say a car battery or alternator. In that case they were offered to purchase a replacement which they would get refunded if there was a manufacturing defect, or wait. My advice is never lose your temper, it is counter productive even if understandable. Just ask for the managing directors name, the branch managers name and the staff members name and then call head office. you will get any issue sorted quickly and usually with a bit extra for your trouble. Calm and direct comments is the way. On a broader point, if you are in business doing gardening, then budget to get proper industrial tools. Any electric trimmer is "home use" really petrol Husqvarna or Stihl are the ones to have, worth it in the long run and make sure you get fully safety gear especially with a chainsaw if working alone. You can get very good blood stopping dressings which are worth having as a slip with a chainsaw is usually past a plaster level of first aid. Good luck with the new venture

  23. The Momo Team is a lovely wheel. Don't forget you may need an adapter to fit the steering wheel to the rapfix.

  24. More video. I loose my front wing in the last bit of this video as it detaches itself at the top of Craner Curves. Also, naughtly overtake in this vid (racing driver excuse mode on) but I had already committed to the overtake by the time I had sen the car in the grave and there were no yellow flags.: More battling Adam (or anyone else!) - more advice please. I like to learn - it helps me go faster next time. Mike
