  1. OK first things first to preemptively protect my reputation... I'm quite good at DIY and when I do a job, I do it well. So I sort of knew what was causing the knocking and knew what to look for and to make sure that all the copper pipes could move over the joists easily. So when I said I did a good job of putting the plumbing felt at all the rubbing points I did. Except... I did the cold water pipes not the hot... So when I was sat on the bog listening to the knocking I was wondering how the hell... Because I knew all the pipes were floating free. Yeah... The wrong pipes So last night I wrapped the right pipes and the noise stopped. Strange that eh..?

  2. If I can recommend anything - try, try and try again. My dearest was petrified on her first ride out and insisted I didn't exceed 50mph (that'll be 2nd gear then ) or that I accelerate at anything more than the pace of an overloaded bin lorry . I was also told to avoid motorways and anywhere where they may be "big lorries" (well I tend to agree with that one). After a number of trips to our local "car evenings" at Earls Barton where she was able to look at hundreds of nice cars (many historic) she realised that perhaps the Westie is quite "secure" after all (well compared to a 1901 Renault anything would be ). And then we did Silverstone were a) we had to use the M1 with big lorries b) I went up to the legal limit most of the time (and errrrr perhaps a little extra ) and of course we had to keep pace with all the other nice cars which meant using all the gears in quick succession... So it can be done providing the first few trips out don't result in anything soggy or a flaming row

  3. Here we are again for the 28th time this year. Hopefully next year it will have more "Tigger scores" among them but for now, we'll have to suffice with you lot I presume it was a nice day as the times were good so I hope they make you all happy. 4. I'm having to join the lycra clad mamil brigade so popped into evans for a quote. First off was the cost of a bike.... second was the cost of the crap to go with it! I recon dropping the soap in a prison shower would be more audible to humans!
