  1. What a fantastic past few hours. I met with Neptune who has travelled up for tomorrows run. We met on the sea front and had coffees and the cars were the centre of attention. From here we went for a pose through Scarborough with more pictures and various comments shouted at us...all good ones. Up to Olivers Mount for a drive round the hill climb and motorcycle circuit. Next it was down to the mere where we watched about 50 swans all feeding. Water was so calm and the most beautiful blue. Back down the sea front for lemon top ice-creams and the cars caused a lot of interest when parked up. Then we parked on the harbour. Again loads of interest in the cars. One woman of around 70 got in Buttercup behind the wheel. She had the harness on, my glasses and my hat. I even got a kiss from here at the end. . We have had children sat in the cars, families asking us questions and loads of pictures. Weather is really sunny, sky and sea are blue and great company.....what is better than that.

  3. Looks great. I think I may be having (another?) mid life crisis, but this project looks really interesting, and a nice "scale" compared to car building/restoring... I'm slightly p****d of course after working my way through some of the bottled real ales I couldn't take to Silverstone, Boardroom surfing on an iPad. Ebay is only a terrifying click away!

  8. Hi Ben I may have one, just need to double check the model number. I swapped it over as there was an issue with the cold start and the cost to send it back to MBE and there turn around time/cost didn't warrant me doing as l needed one for the IVA purposes. The company who swapped it out said the ECU would be fine if you weren't overly worried about the cold start issue but like you, I had to rely on third parties to lead me ! Chris

  10. Have a look at a Mazda Bongo Chris, they are a great start to this type of thing. You don;t have to go for the fully kitted out ones, tow pretty well and convert to a bed at night. Have a look on eBay, I had a very basic one which worked great, couple of people up top and 2 down below. No sink or cooker fitted, just drive down the local pub for that. Then take a camping stove etc for meals. Did me really well for 3 years

  11. You could get a reasonable short wheelbase VW type 4 or maybe even type 5 for that money. Look for a 'day van' as they are cheaper than fully converted camper vans.

  12. Having had the personal version of the tour when I was down with my car, it's a fantastic place to visit if you have the slightest technical bone in your body, also full of enthusiastic and really knowledgable people. Well worth while doing.

Yer it's been a rough couple of weeks waiting to see if Ian Oddie could fix it,but no joy Julie Ian tells me that if I can find another one it shouldn't be a doddle to sort out..its just my luck that terry sold one only a couple of weeks ago. 17. Over the weekend I got the engine bits painted and baked in my home made oven. I also collected the remainder of the parts from powdercoat I've also ordered the tyres for the wheels so hopefully will drop the wheels off to be built with new spokes at the weekend.
