I have a spare moment and thought you folks might be interested in looking at these pictures that I took the other day while on one of my yomps around the Peak District. The aircraft that crashed was a USAF Boeing Superfortress, killing all 13 people on board, in November 1948. I think these were the wheels I think this was part of the wing I don't know what part this was but that very shiny metal has been there since 1948 and nobody has been along with the Autosol to polish it. Can I have a car made out of this please? Possibly an axle or part of the landing gear? Here is a good one. Top right is where the spark plug was sited? and middle bottom, there is still a spark plug in there? Impellor? The wreck is on Bleaklow, just off the A57 Snake Pass road, at approx 2000ft. I hope you have enjoyed this.2 points

Mine will never ever go in mine... She has never called it a westfield... 'That stupid car' is probably the nicest thing said. And since needing to call out the AA the other night she also says its crap... It might not have helped that I bought it and only told her the day before collecting it... #coldshoulder2 points

Thanks Jared. I thought that, when I was looking for this the conversation went something like this: Me: What would opinion be on me buying a motorbike? Wife: No! Me: ok, Just to let you know, I bought a bike. We're going to collect it next weekend. Wife: but you can't ride a bike Me: I don't want to ride it, just rebuild it. Last week she found out I was going to book my cbt training, it went better than I thought.1 point

Quick update on Area 15. Our pitch is ONLY accessible by heading to the tall fairground rides and driving up between those and the Jaguar-LandRover display. Marshals will direct you. Beware, it's tight and there is quite a dip to the right as you get the rear of the Jaguar-LandRover display with our gazebo directly in front of you. I've put a couple of barriers there as a marker, hope they stay in place. Plot 15 is on the banking of the old circuit and adjacent to the end of the Wellington Straight, over the first bridge and left at the roundabout and left again as directed. One of the organisers came over and advised us to leave the space in the corner opposite the gazebo, where we have our tall flag along with the Silverstone Classic flag and our 30th, free until the last minute just in case we or others need a wide turning circle. The gazebo is tucked away in the corner, thought that'd be the best place, hope you like As mentioned earlier, there are balloons to blown up and few more flags to pitched as you see fit. The 6 meter flag will need to planted too - we took down in case it failed overnight, poor old thing. Enjoy, safe journey, see you Saturday.1 point

When you arrive and want to get on our club display area, go in the main entrance and over the first bridge, at the mini roundabout there is a carousel on your left, turn left then after about 25 yards turn right behind the bungy jump and bouncy castle type slide, then follow the marked out track round the Jaguar area, keep following it bending left all the time and you will come to our spot.1 point

Saw this beauty at the weekend - A Bristol Fighter. One of only 9 in existence. With Bristol launching the new Bullet today, at least this won't be the last thing they made. And from the back1 point

well, It's time to to breack a lance for westfield parts... I've been due timing constraints, to take the risk to buy the lower steering wheel to westfield. I had the Item at home in less than 24h. Is the first time I' ve had a correct service from them, and thats why i'm duble surprised.1 point

Given a background of being together since days of running original minis (the riley elf with a 1275 cooper engine was the best), building a dutton and a spartan and rebuilding an MGB roadster my wife loves it. She drew the line at the motorbike (1000cc Honda), but now is back in the swing of things with the Westfield. Gary1 point

Hello all Please view the attached maps showing where all the car clubs, events, music venue etc. are located - you may wish to save or print them, or bookmark this and open it while you're at Silverstone. We're in the green area with 82 spaces, right in the middle of things (the benefits of signing up on Day One!). Have a very safe trip there and a fabulous time!1 point

Hi Dave. Yes you can. "The circuit will be open for entry until approximately 20:00 on Friday 29th July if you wish to arrive the day before. You are requested NOT to arrive before 18:00 as the circuit may still be in use for another event until this time. The site is locked overnight." Chances are that my car will sleep there while I'm in a confortable hotel nearby.1 point

Whilst I'm here, a bit of info/reiteration re Area 15, our infield spot. I'm heading over tomorrow afternoon / evening to set-up a gazebo, table and a couple of chairs along with helium tank and the remaining 30th balloons. I'll also plant a few 30th feather flags. I WILL NOT be around Friday (or Sunday day time), but I know a lot of you will so please... Do keep an eye on our stuff, park up as directed by the marshals or failing that as you think best, make use of the gazebo, table and chairs, if you feel the need, re-plant the feather flags, blow up a few balloons (making sure they do not float off!), enjoy yourselves As said before, this is not a thing where I or anyone else is supposed to set-up, run or manage, but I'm happy to fill a gazebo with WSCC stuff that we can all use to publicise the Club. If you feel the need to hang around and chat / help others, it would be much appreciated and there should be stock of canned drinks for you. 30th Tees will be dropped off Friday afternoon, again, if anyone is around to help, great. Please... treat these with respect, many Members who missed Stoneleigh and Blyton are coming to Silverstone across the entire weekend and will be most disappointed not be able to pick one up, the remainder will be packed off to the AOs for local distribution later. I'll aim to be around as much as possible on Saturday to help see fair play, your help and understanding whilst I'm not around would be appreciated. Above all have fun, come find me on Saturday and tell me where not to spend my money and where the best sights are...! Thanks all1 point

Following Oddjob's advice of fitting the engine to the frame partially assembled I started assembling the first few bits onto the frame. My tapered steering bearings arrived today so I've now got the yokes installed. I fitted the swingarm during the week. This is how it stands at the moment: My next job is to work out a way to hold the rear hub so i can remove the wheel bearing retainer. Mike1 point

Guys, thanks to everyone that suggested RIM stock direct, I now have a nice new set of wheels within 2 days of ordering, something westfield couldn't supply me in 4 weeks!1 point
