Ive had mixed experience with the parts shop, ive waited ages for stuff and been messsed around with false promises ect and other times they've been spot on. I run my own bodyshop business and we always try to make sure cars are ready when we say in the first place, and if there going to be late tell the customer a realistic time it will be done and give a truthful explanation why. What i can't understand is why companies lie about when things will be done or when you will recieve items, why not just tell the truth and then you will only be let down once rather than multiple times. We also deal with rimstock as we are an agent for them, there like the parts shop in some ways, sometimes spot on and sometimes very late with delivery and make false promises, cant see any reason for wheels being late if there in stock though there is normally problems only if wheels have to be made specially or done in a different colour.2 points

To my many friends on the WSCC forum, thanks for all your congratulations. Happy days, I'm still buzzing from the thrill of driving the David yesterday. My new V5C certificate arrived in the post this morning. For anyone who is interested, the turn-around time on my re-submitted application was 7 days. The DVLA Vehicles enquiry team were very helpful during the process, and believe me I called them frequently! I've spoken to A-Plan and my insurance details have been updated. That's another delightful surprise from this adventure, calling my Insurance company is a good experience as the A-Plan customer service team are consistently enthusiastic and helpful. I'll make a point of saying hi to them at Silverstone.2 points

Poor Buttercup been used as a clothes horse to dry my clothes. Mr repair man working with Gary on his car. The air was fully of midges at this time of night and boy o boy.... they were hungry for blood. This is the whisky distillery that we visited and we were totally spoilt by the staff. Look at the price of this bottle of whisky. This is the Cairngorm railway that we rode on.... It is really steep and smashing views from the top with a cafe and toilets. Gary in happier times.....Look at his face....bless him. The mcNab burial ground in Killin. A number of Clan chiefs are buried in the enclosure. The enclosure has the river running both sides and we sat here for ages having the most sensible conversations of the whole trip. Its a fantastic place to sit and the air is full of pungent flowers. The best bit of all.....FOOD.2 points

I have started a new thread to make this a place where we can place our photos and videos of the trip. This will build up over the next week as I find time to sort everything out. BOB, LORNA, DAVE, GARY, TOM, LES, JOHN and PAUL. Can you place your pictures in this thread please. This was the first day on our run up to Scotland. We were spotted by Mr Crow on the motorway and this was a great surprise. Massive horse statues that dominate the motorway. Paul and Clair, photographing us photographing them. The view out of our bedroom window looking down the loch to Queen Victoria's repose in the back ground. It was so quiet with just me and a few animal noises.1 point

The Scottish tourist board could not have done better Especially the compilation vid. It's amazing that an amateur (no offence meant) can produce something so professional. well done Geoffrey. Where were the shots taken with the modern bridge in the background?1 point

4 or 5 on the start-line would be great John as allows some to have a break, especially when hot.1 point

Glad you made it home kev. Scary on the a12 - I had waves of water coming over the front and side of the car, decided it was safest to get off and use country roads.1 point

Made it home safely, despite getting caught in two biblical downpours! Car ran like clockwork, the little devil. Thanks to everyone who was prepared to stick their heads into the oiliest engine bay in Woodbridge, to sort out my electrical gremlins. Mike, I promise to look into a megajolt, so that I can dispose of the existing machanical sh*t, as you so eloquently put it. Great day guys and thanks for helping to entertain the kids.1 point

Brilliant Geoffrey! When I figure out how to post a video (with James' help), I will let you see it. Of course, it goes without saying that I let you win. I may have to edit it so that it shows I win though! I don't think you fastened your belts, which I'm sure is against FIA regulation 175.2.65! Therefore, I win, by default. I will have to post the picture of you praying towards Mecca too. It was a fantastic day.1 point

The four poster bed in my hotel room at the Falls of Dochart Inn. This was the most comfiest bed I have ever slept in. Nice bathroom. Haggis, neeps and tatties. Ruins by the roadside. There was a castle keep, type building behind this. Sheep are all over the place and it is wise not to be bombing along.1 point

This was really interesting. We had mountains that were two colours and this board explained it all. Its amazing how much of the mountains have disappeared. Myself and David looking down towards Loch Maree.....Beautiful road and views. Young James who looked like Damon Hill, getting all "arty" with his camera. This was our french toast. The pictures do not do it justice. I was in heaven. This is the "Big evil, massive, killer bunny cloud" that was devouring the mountains on Skye. Myself, Carol, Bob and Lorna having a great time on Skye. The pub was heaving and had a great atmosphere.....not as good as the company though. Dinosaur footprints on Skye. Location of footprints. Kilt Rock and Mealt Waterfall on Skye. The waterfall drops straight into the sea and is 60m in height. Unfortunately due to no rain it was only a shower. View from the top of Applecross over to Skye.1 point

What a beautiful island we live in, really, really must try and explore more of it! You wetted my appetite last year Geoff, but you've surpassed yourself this year! (Are you on commission from the Scotish tourist board? ), but circumstance meant I had no chance of joining you Really must find a way to join the tour next year, a subtle hint, please, please organise one next year!!1 point

Myself, David and James stopped at Corrieshalloch Gorge. We had great fun here doing a Le Mans start in our cars.....WHERES THE VIDEO DAVID.... Anyway here is a clip of the gorge. In the first photo, you may be able to see the tiny viewing platform in the background. The clip is taken from the suspension bridge. In the last picture you can see the suspension bridge that is high above the gorge. Corrieshalloch may mean ‘Ugly Hollow’ in Gaelic, but there is nothing ugly about Corrieshalloch Gorge National Nature Reserve, a deep tree-shrouded chasm and beauty spot that cuts through a Highland wilderness rich in flora and fauna. Corrieshalloch is a slot gorge, or box-canyon, that was cut as far back as 2.6million years ago by Ice Age glacial meltwater. The River Droma forges through the gorge, dramatically dropping 100 metres in just 1.25km through a series of waterfalls, including the thunderous 45m high Falls of Measach. A brace of trails opens up the gorge to walkers, with a Victorian suspension bridge built by Sir John Fowler (one of the chief engineers behind the Forth Bridge), a jaw-dropping viewing platform and a viewpoint on hand to help visitors appreciate the full drama of Corrieshalloch Gorge, one of the wonders of the West Highlands. It’s a dizzying and exhilarating experience to look down on the torrent of water plunging 46m (150ft) over the Falls of Measach from the gently swaying suspension bridge. Corrieshalloch Gorge is one of the natural wonders of the Highlands and not to be missed, especially after periods of rain.1 point

Agree fully Steve, tell it like it is and keep people in the loop, even if it's to say no news yet. We do have a general problem in the industries serving us, whereby with some notable exceptions, stock levels of what are after all small level runs of unusual parts do fluctuate, and sometimes getting information from all parts of the supply chain can be tricky. At the same time, the big wide world has moved on with communications "speeds" that are hard, sometimes, for very small businesses to live up to: email is a terrible task master. At the same time, Amazon et al haven't just shifted the goal posts with respect to delivery and lead times, they've ploughed up the whole field and built a brand new stadium. Next day delivery sometimes feels like it has become the norm. Somehow the two worlds have to find a way to meet in the middle. I'm not sure how that will be achieved, but surely it must start with communication.1 point

This is a french chap I had a great chat with. His bike had a pull start, petrol engine on the rear hub. This is Duntottar Castle. This really is a place to visit and is superb. Here we are at the castle. From left to right. The Court Jester. The Toilet Cleaner. The King and the Master of Arms. Our roles were decided on our personalities and persona. Skeleton in the closet. The poor people. David with "Custard" and Les's V8 monster. It was really clean and very smart. Parked up for a cup of tea and something hot to eat. Cafe had stopped doing food. Parked on the Lecht. We drove through unbelievable rain and gary's poor car broke down in the middle on no-where. This is where Gary's car broke down. Buttercup is admiring the view.1 point

This is the bridge over to Skye. You can also go across on a ferry. Buttercup wrapped up for the night. This is the first cover that Soft Bits for Sevens had made for a Westfield and its very secure. One of the fairy rings in the Fairy Glenn. you throw a coin into the centre and make a wish. the Fairy Glen is a fantastic place to visit. A new mural has appeared in Moine House. It has been sprayed over an older one. Buttercup and Moine House. A family of ten used to live in the house. There is nothing but peat bog up here and the nearest thing to the house are the mountains in the distance. I love it here and make a point of stopping every year. Buttercup and a ship wreck. Buttercup at Melness Bay. The sea entrance to Smoo Cave. The waterfall that comes through the roof inside Smoo Cave. This is in the first part of the cave. There are other chambers that you access by boat.1 point

Here is the top of the gondolas in the Nevis Range. Great views at the top. we watched a glider flying below us and a helicopter flying building materials up and down the mountain. Group photo at the top. Brotherly love at Glen Finnan viaduct. Concrete construction of the viaduct. this is the viaduct in the Harry potter movies. Sabine....aka Lorna. Driving towards the back of Ben Lawers dam. HERE WE HAVE THE MODEL PICTURES Buttercup and Bob's car as models at the bottom of the dam. Miss Westfield World 2016. The obligatory, one for the ladies. Leaving the dam.1 point

"to a track day" .......... providing of course that it'll meet the proposed new EU noise limit of 68 decibels and that the "locals" who've bought their posh houses next to what used to be a fine old motor racing circuit don't have you arrested for speeding or "cruising with other vehicles in a convoy"1 point
