  1. Quite the opposite. We need to extricate ourselves from the POLITICS of the EU, not the trade part. Remember we got in to Europe as TRADING partners NOT political partners. That came MUCH later. The EU is the second biggest economy in the world. The UK ON IT'S OWN is the 5th. Take us out and how far will Europe slide down the rankings. They really REALLY need us. We don't need them anywhere near as much. But lets stay as trading partners. (no brainer. I doubt any of the EU nations would be as capricious as to impose sanctions) whilst taking back control of our laws and our freedoms rather than have those things imposed on us from afar by people who don't understand the UK and it's population.

  2. I am posting this as I feel it needs to be known about. On monday I met up with Geoffrey and Buttercup and drove down to Killin, On tuesday we had an early start and toured around the north east of scotland, as we headed back we drove through torrential rain, I have never driven in rain that bad, we turned off the A( and minutes later my car died and would not restart, nothing. We changed some fuses but everything was soaking, after rolling down a hill to a safe (but not dry) place I phoned the breakdown who could not start her and said that she would need recovering home. Now this is my first thank you to Footman James who handled everything and she is now home safely awaiting sorting. The second thank you and really why I am posting this Is to Geoffrey who despite being on the homeward leg of his trip insisted that we have today together and he would bring me home. So we have had a wonderful day today despite the previous trials and tribulations, Geoffrey has done a 240 mile round trip northwards to get me home. I am truly humbled to have a friend who would do this for me and it really is what makes this club so special. So from the bottom of my heart , a very big thank you to GEOFFREY and BUTTERCUP Gary

  3. 5' 7" in a pre-lit. Had the car for 9 months with the old bench seats, so sitting right at the back of the tub. Fitted GRP seats and moved the drivers side forward 5 inches on the runners. Can't believe how much performance gain there was, once I could reach to push the loud pedal fully down!

  7. just ordered a replacement instrument cluster as its tied in with the ecu , pulled the dash and can't find anything obviously wrong , dried it all out, as I have the permanent live side all working and some switched things working but no ignition lights on the dash or odometer lighting up my first thoughts are in the cluster (hopefully the ecu is ok, so wish me luck. IF I can get her running I WILL be there trust me I'm on it don't care what the spaghetti looks like if its running I'm coming

  8. Well said Gary. I've had the pleasure of driving around with Geoffrey for 2 days of his trip up here and he really is a top man (just like yourself). It doesn't surprise me at all that he took you home after your breakdown. He isn't the sort of guy that would leave a friend stranded. Having said that, he did leave several of his possessions at various places around Scotland this last 10 days, so it is a wonder that he didn't lose you somewhere along the way! (sorry Geoffrey, we said we wouldn't mention that!). Hope you can get your car sorted soon Gary and I look forward to our next run out.

  11. Top man! I've not had the pleasure yet, but having read the scribe's posts on here, it comes as no surprise to me that Geoffrey would help a stricken fellow member in this way.

  13. Interestingly 99% of their Electrical power is made from Hydropower. But their wealth did come from oil. They just spent it much wiser than a lot of other governments !!!

  16. This morning for the first time ever.. I watched a bit of EU parliament live.. how sad.. i stuck it for about an hour, and what was coming over was the EU is not doing well at all, and how can they prop it up some more? These MEPs as far as I know are just debating, and can't actually do anything about ..anything? It's the "unelected" EU council that sits above them that make the decisions, is that right? Nigel Farage gave what sounded like a resignation speech. "If you want more money, just ask David Cameron" .. and ended with "I'm leaving now, I may be quite some time" then walked out. I also watched that "Debate" on ITV last night, Cameron v Farage.. that was a total waste of time. I don't think any of the questions on either side got a satisfactory answer, and very little time allocated for a come back at them? ..That's not a debate. Let's get the hell out!
