I am posting this as I feel it needs to be known about. On monday I met up with Geoffrey and Buttercup and drove down to Killin, On tuesday we had an early start and toured around the north east of scotland, as we headed back we drove through torrential rain, I have never driven in rain that bad, we turned off the A( and minutes later my car died and would not restart, nothing. We changed some fuses but everything was soaking, after rolling down a hill to a safe (but not dry) place I phoned the breakdown who could not start her and said that she would need recovering home. Now this is my first thank you to Footman James who handled everything and she is now home safely awaiting sorting. The second thank you and really why I am posting this Is to Geoffrey who despite being on the homeward leg of his trip insisted that we have today together and he would bring me home. So we have had a wonderful day today despite the previous trials and tribulations, Geoffrey has done a 240 mile round trip northwards to get me home. I am truly humbled to have a friend who would do this for me and it really is what makes this club so special. So from the bottom of my heart , a very big thank you to GEOFFREY and BUTTERCUP Gary11 points

As a wee up date I have had a great time meeting up and spending time with Geoffrey, Les and David, great days out despite my breakdown, excellent craic and banter and many memories to share, certainley for many many reasons a few days away that I will not forget the sight of Geoffrey prostrate on a mountain top road , trying to get some "atmospheric" pictures, with his trousers not realy pulled up is one that will leave me scarred indefinitely :) Truthfully many happy moments shared, Thank you Gary2 points

Hi all Apologies for the slow service tonight. Adrian has been working on it and found a number of Russian IP addresses trying to hack the forums, which he's stopped without them causing us damage. My thanks to Ade for his assistance, it should be back to normal soon. It's all because Putin was turned down for membership and is throwing his toys out the pramski.1 point

This morning for the first time ever.. I watched a bit of EU parliament live.. how sad.. i stuck it for about an hour, and what was coming over was the EU is not doing well at all, and how can they prop it up some more? These MEPs as far as I know are just debating, and can't actually do anything about ..anything? It's the "unelected" EU council that sits above them that make the decisions, is that right? Nigel Farage gave what sounded like a resignation speech. "If you want more money, just ask David Cameron" .. and ended with "I'm leaving now, I may be quite some time" then walked out. I also watched that "Debate" on ITV last night, Cameron v Farage.. that was a total waste of time. I don't think any of the questions on either side got a satisfactory answer, and very little time allocated for a come back at them? ..That's not a debate. Let's get the hell out!1 point

Thanks for last night it was good to meet and chat with a few of you. Trip home involved a de-tour around York CC as the A64 was closed along with a spot of 'Ingress' at North Duffield and Bubwith. So was the mini flashing away at me as I just left the pub anyone on here?1 point

Oh no! See, Rhubarb without Custard just doesn't work does it? It was ok when I left you, honest! Hope you get it sorted soon Gary. At least you're both laughing about it. Is it water in the electrics? Have you not been cleaning the latrines out Gary? Maybe it's punishment for that! Many Thanks for all the laughs and banter today Geoffrey, Gary and Les. Great to meet a new friend and fellow Westfield (great sounding V8) and Jaguar enthusiast in Les. Really enjoyed it. What a fantastic day.1 point

Had another fab day today. Travelled down from Durness in glorious sunshine and stopped at a couple of beautiful beaches and bays for a few minutes. Also noted a few places for future trips. I had a fly with my drone over the most beautiful piece of still water that was like a mirror. No ripples or anything and it was the most beautiful copper colour. Looking down I can see the rocks going down the sides and then it plunges into the deep channels. Met a french couple and they had a bicycle that had a petrol engine on the rear hub. The chap says it was over 30 years old and he started it with a pull cord. I met GaryT in Aviemore and we hit it off straight away. His car is a rhubarb colour so tomorrow we will have, Buttercup, Rhubarb and Custard.......did you hear that David. I wished for some rain this morning....by jove we got it as we went through the Cairngorms. Thunder and lightening and with no roof weather protection on either car we just drove through it. I had half doors but poor Gary had nothing. It lasted about an hour but we laughed at the end of it and it certainly did not spoil our day. Had some great food at The Falls of Dochart Inn. I invited Gary to my bedroom, . It has a fab four poster bed and all dark wood furniture and a white roll top bath. Its really nice and it overlooks the waterfalls. We had a wander around the waterfalls and also into the McNab mural ground where the chiefs are buried. It smelt beautiful because of all the fragrant flowers and our conversations started to get quite deep. it was a great place to just sit and chat. Looking forward to the castle trip tomorrow even though I have had to give up my breakfast to get there on time. ......I don't mind though as the rewards for been out and about with such great people far outweighs the need for breakfast.1 point
