I generally find a firm Silent Night mattress with memory foam top layer, 600 count Eygptian cotton sheets, a warm Jacussi bath and a well stocked wine cellar work very well. Did I mention I live 5 miles from Stoneleigh?2 points

I will be handling T-shirt and name badge duties. I may ask you for some proof of ID as a) I'm getting old and can't remember everyone any more; and b) what did I just say? I can't remember. Anyway, if I do ask, don't be offended, it's just that remembering 1,200 faces is not simple! I'll have a checklist, no worries.2 points

A note on TinTop parking. Please DO NOT park your TinTop, Van, trailer or other Non-kit car around the marquee or on the road. I have secured parking across the road from the WSCC camp site for our sole use. The barrier will be up but we will put out cones and signs and will be monitoring the area as will the site security. There is to be NO messing about in the car park and it MUST be litter free when you leave. After two years of asking, we've finally been given the space by Stoneleigh and by the private company who's car park it is. We do not want to create the wrong impression, rather we want to create a fantastic impression so we will be welcomed back. Please see Ian, Marcus or myself for a parking pass to display before parking up. Ta1 point

If these cold temperatures continue you may want to wear your Westfield beanie at night to keep you warm, it also doubles as an eye mask because it is a dark colour and if you pull it down over your eyes it stops the early morning daylight waking you up. I am being serious, but it does make me laugh, the thoughts of all these drunken campers with their hats over their faces .1 point

Andrew, if you come along in the Westfield then 50% of mini convoy will be V8 powered, which has to be a good thing!1 point

Indeed Russ and I have waterproof troosers plus an all in one waterproof romper suit! Not sure I can drill a drain hole while keeping the uber comfiness intact!1 point

I drive my aeroscreened, V8 bonneted, none siliconed scuttle in all weathers and have never had any issues, you'll be fine. A hole in your seat stops your testicles getting wet though.1 point

Skateboard griptape... I have a large roll I can chop a few bits off if you'd like If you have fibreglass seats get some holes drilled in the bottom, also one in each corner of your floor pan. It's easier to let water out than stop it getting in!1 point

A few, well 3 of us in westfields will be doing a mini-convoy from Newark McD car park on Sunday morning, if you would like to join us then I'm sure an extra wouldn't be frowned upon, but don't expect us to be doing 100 mph ! Cheers Ian1 point

Had a cracking day at Cadwell last Friday. Here's a vid from a pal's Zetec powered car chasing my lad Pete, getting the most from my Pintosaurus.1 point

The relationship between seat, steering wheel, the bottom of the dash and the pedals is critical. There are many ways of resolving this and you WILL be able to get yourself comfortable.1 point

I received my 40 ltr bag yesterday and it will allow the bag and a rucksack to go on the back as its not as wide as the 60 ltr. Will get a picture at the weekend but the 40 is still a big bag.... In my opinion1 point

Hi Everyone, Sorry about the lack of feedback, a bit hectic at the moment. If you're up for collecting at Stoneleigh from Tom or Julian then post to the board (rather than PM) and I'll get the stuff to them at the local meet on Thursday. We can sort payment via transfer or Paypal. You all live on here so I know where to find you Ta geofff1 point

You'd be surprised how easy it is to chop and change stuff. Once you've got an aftermarket ecu you've unlocked many paths. That's how I've ended up with throttle bodies then changing to turbo. Well, that and childishness. Keep considering things like the Blink 160 kit though. I drove mine harder on track with 160bhp than I did with 260bhp.1 point

Here's my video of my best run of the weekend - got to the top and wasn't sure it was any good, didn't really feel very fast and a big bog down in revs coming out of sawbench, but it turned out to be my fastest time. Its a strange game this.1 point

Thank you everyone for your lovely words and helpful advice. Neither of us is hurt at all and the car is completely ok to drive, which is good. A Plan have passed me over to the underwriters and I have requested a price for the repairs from the only people I would trust with my car, namely the Westfield factory. Apart from Glen of course, he is always nice to my car. We have had the rear wheel off and there is no obvious damage other than the surface scuffs, but I will ask for it to be confirmed. I cannot see or feel any bends and I have put a steel ruler along the chassis and wishbones. Robin - the wheel has some scuffs and a dint on it. The rear wheel arch is detachable and was only off a few months ago when Glen put some piping between the arch and the tub, more prettiness.1 point

ok so no snow today , sun is out but a wee bit fresh so washed her down and checked her over and replaced the std roll bar with a "westy FW style " one that I had made, added some stainless stone guards and had some lunch. Now some of you may or may not know but when I was introduced into this world , it destroyed my dads dream of owning a 7, he had put a deposit down only for mum to inform him a new car would require 3 seats !!!!!. So anyway while I have been building her , it was kept from my dad (no mean feat) and as he now has all sorts of health problems the rush was on to get completed and him out in her. So sun shining , car looking spik n span, full tank we had a little run down to the coast to surprise dad, mum had him out the back so pulled up in their drive and rang the bell, dad answered and was gobsmacked , so after a coffee and a million questions mum and me helped him into the car with dad duly buckled and wrapped up, we went for a wee blast, only about 10 miles or so. When we got back mum and me got him out and inside, well that was the start , he perked up a genuine smile on his face and an enthusiasm (not seen in a long time) for something. More coffee and tales from back in the day when mum and him were pre-gary and doing stage rallying, friends with healey 100/4 and 3000's or with 7's. and then all of a sudden a very timid question..... can we do it again? answer ...... OF COURSE WE CAN After dinner I drove home in in the evening sun in a world that seemed ok ... for a wee while, and boy did I enjoy today, about 100 miles or so Gary1 point

I was hoping to get some low level shots but everyone had to go. That will be for next time. I had to put the film together with the film I had and I didn't have much.1 point
