I just don't get all the be gentle for extended periods advice. The only parts that have metal to metal contact are the rings and to a lesser extent the cams and lifters. If you do the maths the number of times these parts contact at engine RPMs running in is done in minutes not many hours. Use wide open throttle and throttle closed coast down to bed the rings and you are on the right track. Watch temps and pressures and change the oil after a couple of hours running. From doing this I get very consistent compression test results and very low leak down.1 point

Well, new trailer have arrived, and this one needs to go. before bringin it to the scrap yard or take 200 buks from someone else, here is my offer: -If you are a builder and you need the trailer for IVA purposes, just come and take it. Only one condition. Never sell it. is free for the next builder who wants to use it. -If you are not a builder, but you want to own it... just come and pay me what you think is fair. Lightweight trailer, that will fit in any garage, mostly in aluminium, perfect for any kit car, with 100% working lightboard, aluminium ramps, brakes working, wheels with good thread... still don´t understant why is not sold. Hope our chairman is happy with the offer for the builders.1 point

I'll hopefully make this one. The mine tour takes about an hour as they take you down through the old village and the old restored miners stone house first. I did it a few months ago so I'll just head back with Matt when he leaves.1 point

Well what a great day we had. Sunshine was the order of the day, great cars, great place, great food....and FAB WESTFIELD MEMBERS, what a smashing day. Met with Roger and Judy at Driffield after a spot of breakfast at Bridlington. We left home at 7.30am and it was a beautiful morning but just had that nice cold bite in the air. From Driffield it was over to Stamford Bridge to meet Robin and he was patiently waiting for us. Over to Castle Howard we went and we had our own moment from the Italian Job film which was great fun.....you will see this later. We continued over towards Rosedale and dropped down Rosedale Chimney and parked at the pub. Anyway myself Robin and Roger unpacked the cars and then noticed Carol and Judy had disappeared. We thought they had gone down into the village so we set off to find them. After going down the steep hill we could not find them so back up the steep hill we went......We eventually found them in the closed pub. The landlady said they could come in to wait and that was it.....Bloomin Women comes to mind. Terry soon joined us and his car cockpit is more like a fighter jet than a car. Chris and his gang were with us soon after but were running a bit late due to car trouble, but it was good they all managed to get to us. Its amazing how all the cars are so different and it was good to see them all together. We made our way into the pub and the table I had booked was all laid out for us and it was a really nice place to sit. The food was all out at once and it was all really tasty and was hot. The in really did a smashing job of looking after us. Anyway here are a few pictures but there will be more up later after I have made a bit of a film and saving some of the days going's on for the magazine. Thanks everyone for coming and it was great to meet you all......All your cars look great.1 point

Well that really is a sledge hammer to crack a nut. The police already have enough power to deal with these people, but the big problem is now they are policing by popularity if it is easy. I think that many modified cars would be found to be legal, but they appear to be saying any modification from standard makes a car illegal if they want it to. So buy a set of Michelins, when it came with Pirellis and if you go to this extreme it is illegal. Yes since time has been around there have been idiots, but this "big brother " approach seems too much and innocents will be dragged in. Imagine you happen to drive past a cruise site in your Westfield, innocently, according to this your car is now flagged on APNR as a vehicle of interest. I am sure many will say nothing to fear, but if you have done nothing wrong why should you be recorded as a person of interest? If the police put as much effort into other things, like extremism, drunken behaviour, violence etc. that would be a much better use of the additional resource now being levied upon motoring and I for one would feel much better. The thing that drives this is as a driver you have an asset that can be sold to pay fines, a drunken chav has nothing so why do anything. 6 months for "Street racing" when no one was hurt, when we see the lenient sentences for violent crimes seems wrong. The days of enthusiasts being able to drive without restrictions creeps ever nearer every day. It appears motoring is to be a means to get to work and provide an income stream for straying outside allowed dictates.1 point
