  1. Wow! Seriously not long to go now, can't believe it's come round so quick. Huge thanks to the team, I think bar a few bits and pieces we are sorted Rota will be published this week. If you fancy helping out, do please get your details to us as per the original instructions and we look forward to seeing you all (sooner than you think...) Please do be aware that if we have not confirmed your details then you may struggle to partake in the freebies so please make sure you've responded to individual emails - thanks!

  2. Well the answer to this reference is the fact that whilst we stayed in the hotel on Saturday night our Westfield had to stay outside. Julie and Glen kindly lent me their cockpit cover but as I was a little worried about heavy rain overnight I used both the cover and the half hood as shown in the photos. It is the view from the rear that coined the phrase of the Westkini Finally a quick thank you to Geoff for organising a great day out!

  3. My school report used to say 'average' in some subjects and I thought that nobody could complain. I got 'could do better' too but I aspired to mediocre as that kept me out of trouble.

  4. The Tiger ones seem to be a bit more robust, also, as they use the three mounting points for the (un-fitted) dust shields, they're easier to fit. The Westfield ones share one mounting bolt with the brake callipers, and are then held in place by the upper ball joint. However to do this, the iron upright needs a small modification. It can be done at home with a grinder - with care, but just wanted you to be aware, in case it influences your descision.

  5. Probably making a big mistake, however due to a progressive back problem I have, the little lady just isn't getting out enough. She's a 2002 registered wide body on an 02 plate, 2 litre zetec silver top with jenvey throttle bodies and an omex ecu, mt 75 gearbox. 9 months mot remaining, no advisories, I've just changed the plugs and oil. The car is in very good condition. Mileage- 7900. Full wet weather gear and boot box. There are pictures in the gallery under litcoat I will post more once I persuade this machine to upload them. Price wise I'm open to offers for any more info call me on 07703597401 or email litcoat@aol.com Cheers Mark

  11. Great stuff! Good to see 'Captain Colonial' is still alive and well despite the trappings of civic office :-)

  12. This thread shows exactly why we believe (and many others in motorsport) that rod ends should NOT be used on front wishbone mountings! Rod ends are weak in shear and the forces on the front wishbones are far greater than the rear due to the 'twist' from braking forces.

  15. It does look odd, but it's an IVA requirement that there should be a tell tale light for the fog lamp THAT ONLY ILLUMINATES WHEN THE FOG IS TURNED ON. As the buttons back light is used for the tell tale, it's now wired "correctly" from the factory. I've never liked it, so put it back to illuminating with all the other switches and fitted a fog lamp warning light with the other warning lights; it through the tester briefly, who was used to Westfields and those rocker switches - he was just about to tell me of the rule when I stopped home and pointed out the tell tale lamp!
